I’ve been living in The Netherlands for almost a year and never had such a good coffee here. Not only it tasted great, but also the presentation was excellent. Staff were super kind and helpful and the ambient is fantastic for working and studying in a group or solo.
It’s a nice cafe to work in or just to catch up with someone. Nothing beats a scone with strawberry jam, but the one they have isn’t that bad either. The staff are cute, helpful, and come by your table often to see if you need anything. If you’re looking to plan your day, work, chat or grab a quick bite. This should be on your list of cafe’s. The wifi works great and the place gives out a chill vibe.
Its a really good place to just sit and hang out for breakfast or lunch or something. There is free wifi (no password) but not enough sockets to call it a good place to work remotely at. They have a huge selection teas and coffees and the desserts are also quite good. I recommend the white chocolate cheesecake!!!
A great dark and cosy place to have a coffee, cup of tea and some lunch while watching the hustle and bustle of shoppers in The Hague. Fancy a drink or bite before dinner? They have you covered. For those who just want to sit and work there is free wifi. ;-)
Full disclosure: they only opened in December so they are working out some of the kinks as I experienced. After talking to the manager, the issues was solved and taken on as a lesson learned. I went from planing to score 2 stars back to 4 stars.
Regardless of the restaurant being empty, I was not allowed to work on my laptop from the seat I chose. The manager sent an employee to direct me to the “laptop area”. Not very great service.
There is a separate corner for people who want to work on their laptop, with easy access to charge your devices. Fan of that.
Taking your order can take long, last Sunday as well, like they forgot we entered. Was not the first time, but really depends on what team is there, because it's also not the standard.
It's a great place if you want to sit for long hours while working. Was a bit disappointed with their beverage, specially chai latte.
A very pleasant spacey cafe with a nice wiew to the sqare. Had a great coffee there and a sinfully awesome banana bread which I strongly recommend. You can also buy coffee to make at home. Great place for studying or working solo or in a small group, or just chill out and have a nice time.
A lovely open space suitable for a solo quick coffee, co-working or a group get together. There are charging points and interesting food. This particular venue has a great location with huge windows facing the Groote Kerk (big church).
Nice place. Very profesional staff. Foods good. Also nice spots for working👌
Super nice place! I love coming here for breakfast with friends, or to work quietly on my laptop for a bit. The staff is always friendly and helpful. There is a lot of choice and the coffee and food are always a hit :) Definitely recommended!!
In response to a previous cynic, I actually want to let you know that the atmosphere *and* hospitality here are excellent, and that I am always allowed to just sit with my laptop.
My order is always the same, by the way: Chai Latte. Because I can't make them this good at home myself.
The staff is friendly and attentive, and the location and interior are lovely. The chairs and tables are well-spaced throughout the space. You can quickly grab a drink, work on your laptop, or enjoy a pleasant conversation. The food is organic, which is also a plus.
Anne & Max is my favorite! Great coffee (with tasty cookies!) and lovely people. And you are always welcome, whether you come to work comfortably on your laptop or to enjoy a nice meal, it's all okay 🩵
Great food and coffee, but no hospitality. According to the internet, it's "the living room" of the city and the place to finish your thesis or work. My boyfriend and I were booking a vacation. We ordered four drinks and lunch. However, we were asked not to use our laptops or to leave, due to the laptop policy, so people could sit on the terrace. I explained that we had just ordered food; did we have to leave? I asked the waitress for a felt pad for the table, which was moving. I hadn't said anything when I walked up to her, but she immediately snapped: "I'll come to the table to take your order." I told her that was fine, but I was only asking for a felt pad. I regret wasting my money and Sunday morning here. I didn't feel welcome.
The food and drinks were generally good, and this has been posted below. I also received a comment about the weekend laptop policy. I was told the weather was nice outside, so plenty of people were sitting on the terrace, but otherwise, no laptops were allowed because people from outside had to be able to pay inside. The whole argument completely went over my head. I simply ordered breakfast and drinks, so that can't be the problem. I believe the argument is that with a laptop, you often stay longer, which means you occupy a seat for a relatively long time. Just say this and don't beat around the bush with all sorts of vague arguments that don't improve the hospitality. A striking detail, by the way, is that the employee who helped me with the checkout wasn't aware of the no-laptop policy. The employees who took my order also never mentioned the laptop policy. Next time, I'll go to Anne & Max at Fred!
Nice spot in the city center for lunch or to work on your laptop for a bit. The coffee is good and the food is fine.
I was planning to have a cup of coffee at Anne & Max on Kerkplein around 10:30 on Easter Monday. I also wanted to check some emails on my laptop.
At 11:00 a.m., several people arrived, and I suggested I sit somewhere else to make room for them. The response I received was that it was almost laptop time anyway... and that I apparently needed to leave. I just managed to say thank you for making room.
I have a hospitality background and certainly understand that it's undesirable to have a table filled with flex workers on a holiday. But simply assuming everyone belongs to that demographic without asking doesn't seem very service-oriented to me.
The three stars ultimately go to the friendly guy who helped me earlier. I didn't order lunch in the end.
I always enjoyed going to Anne&Max; it's a nice spot for lunch or a cappuccino. However, today I took a seat and was directed by a lady to a table at the back of the restaurant, where I had to sit crammed together in a row with other guests because I had opened my laptop. laptop use was prohibited at the table I had chosen. On a Wednesday afternoon well past lunch (2:30 PM), when the place is only 30% full, it was a very strange experience. The staff hasn't been what it used to be lately either, in terms of speed and service. I left immediately and will not be coming back.
I'm a regular customer here. Whether I'm here for socializing, with my toddler or family, or with my laptop, I always have a great experience! Complaints are handled perfectly, the menu is delicious, and the coffee is even better. It's also incredibly well-run and a pleasure to work with, which is obvious.
Nice place to eat and drink, and you can even work there (wifi). Everything is tasty, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is pleasant.
Great, delicious coffee, quiet atmosphere, reminds me of a Viennese coffee house. Have a drink, read, or work on the laptop.
