Cool place. Nice design. Nice staff. Music is too loud for my taste. Lots of people are working here trying to focus so I don’t think loud music is necessarily the best choice. Also, the wifi is quite unreliable and slow for a co-working cafe so I didn’t end up coming back often. Upgrading the wifi plan would probably double their business. Overall good experience.

Peace and kindness combined. I accidentally discovered this cafe at the end of last year, and I prefer to have my coffee there whenever I am nearby, spend my "in between" hours reading books. Smiling faces welcome you all the time. The only downside is their working hours.

Zach McWhorter18.10.2026

Nice ambience, great selection of books (they sell Turkish translations of Dostoyevsky!), and a perfect place to pull out the laptop and get sh*t done.

I encountered a ridiculous situation at this cafe during my last visit that I hadn't seen on previous visits. Apparently, using laptops is forbidden inside, except for a designated meeting area. We only found out about this 15-20 minutes after we sat down, when they came to take our order. They told us in a way that was practically saying, "If you want to use your laptop, leave." The coldness of the staff was another matter entirely. Such a rule is simply unacceptable. If I want to use my laptop, I shouldn't have to sit uncomfortably in the only designated laptop area while drinking my coffee, right? It's a completely absurd rule, and even worse, the way they explained it was terrible; there wasn't even a hint of embarrassment or apology. Whoever is running this place should reconsider this. Otherwise, tons of negative reviews will follow.

I had an incredibly ridiculous experience today. The place is nice, but they have terrible rules. Using tablets or laptops at the outdoor tables is forbidden; I've never seen or heard of such a awful concept. You can't even use your tablet or laptop after placing your order; one of the grumpy employees immediately comes over. I paid and left immediately. I definitely don't recommend it. A terrible establishment, a terrible place. And the coffee is bad too, by the way.

IN ONE WORD: DISGRACEFUL AND STUPID.

Apparently, using a laptop is forbidden inside, and I couldn't use one. I'm paying for my coffee, what right do you have to interfere with what I do? Look, I've traveled the world, and in no cafe do you ever kick a customer out or show them the door for using a laptop or phone. And on top of that, they shamelessly demanded payment for the coffee; you could spit in their faces and it wouldn't be enough. As someone who has been coming here for years, I am extremely dissatisfied with the treatment I received, and I will report this to CİMER (Turkish Presidential Communication Center) and consumer rights organizations. What kind of decency, culture, or understanding allows you to warn or even kick a customer out in front of everyone for their choices, and then demand payment for your coffee? They even charged for coffee we didn't drink! You are utterly despicable; may all your commercial operations collapse soon. Don't go there, don't take anyone there, and don't even mention it. If I could, I would give them negative ratings; a fraudulent place that humiliates customers with their own money.

This is a cafe where the owners are unnecessarily rude to customers. Their problem isn't with laptops, but with the educated, cultured, and hardworking clientele. The owner is a primary school graduate. He thought he could fill his void by opening a book cafe, but he didn't consider the influx of educated people. They're preventing the educated class from coming with this rule, something they find difficult to accept.

Melek18.10.2026

I chose this place thinking it would be a suitable workspace. However, I was warned twice that using a laptop was prohibited. When I asked for a logical explanation, they said it was the owners' policy and that it was a book cafe concept. While you can chat freely inside, working alone with a laptop is forbidden. If the concept is for reading, then chatting should also be prohibited. They said you could work in the communal area, but that was full, so basically they told you to leave. It's not a unique concept place, I don't understand why they react like this to customers. They're not trying to reach an agreement with the customer, they're trying to argue. My reaction, however illogical it may seem, is not to the rules themselves, but to the way they are expressed and enforced. I definitely do not recommend it. Places like this shouldn't be given any attention.

Tülay Sert18.10.2026

The staff are grumpy and expressionless, as if they're being held against their will. You can't open your tablet or laptop outside; they only allow it inside. I've never seen such nonsense anywhere else in my life. The waiters can't manage stress or crisis situations. It's a disgrace!!!

Selin Soy18.10.2026

It was a lovely place we loved and recommended to everyone. This place alone was our reason for coming to Alsancak, but today we were met with a warning that laptop use was prohibited. According to a new policy implemented on September 1st, laptops/tablets are only allowed in the common area, but we couldn't even go there today because the book club was running at the same time. I only needed to use my laptop for 15 minutes today, but I want to express how upsetting this decision is, as it could lead to losing regular customers like myself who only need to use their laptops for very short periods. I believe there was already a rule prohibiting laptop use for more than 3 hours, which might have solved the problem, but prohibiting laptop use in a way that restricts people's freedom is truly unbelievable; I'm still shocked. I didn't expect this decision from such a beautiful place.

Eda Ertek18.10.2026

It was a place we'd loved coming to for a long time, but we learned and were warned that we can no longer use laptops inside. Given the existing three-hour limit – which I find quite normal – I found it absurd that a book cafe would impose such a rule. I can't understand what problem people who come to study quietly and sit for an hour or two could possibly have. I don't think we'll be coming back. Furthermore, I believe the woman who owns the place has a condescending attitude towards people. She lacks the qualities a business owner should prioritize.

Nehir18.10.2026

We didn't find what we were expecting; the atmosphere was very cold, and they told us we couldn't use our laptops and tablets outside the common area while studying. I wouldn't recommend it at all. The ambiance is nice, but it's so cold that it ruins the whole atmosphere.

Lal Yalçın18.10.2026

I first ordered coffee, opened my laptop while enjoying my coffee, and was then warned by the waiters that laptop use was prohibited. Not only is this restriction very inconvenient, but it's also deeply disappointing that this establishment has made such a decision driven by strong commercial concerns. This is the first time I've ever seen such a restrictive cafe. I hope you reverse this decision soon.

roza yılmaz18.10.2026

I've loved coming to this cafe where I worked for years, but I won't be coming back. One of my favorite things in life is taking my laptop outside and working with a coffee. They don't allow laptops, only in one part of the cafe. Even in the designated area, people leave their things for hours and then leave, and you can't even get into that section. And the cafe staff who warn against opening laptops are, in my opinion, harsh and rude.

Bersu Tüfekci18.10.2026

It was always our go-to place when we wanted to study outside with our friends, but the ban on using tablets and laptops outside of the large tables is completely illogical. It's already difficult to find a table here, and this kind of policy means you'll lose regular customers who love the atmosphere.

Yeliz gül18.10.2026

We went in to work on our laptops, but were later told we couldn't work anywhere other than the meeting room, so we had to end our stay. It's absurd that they're focusing on remote customers and then adopting a different purpose with such a nonsensical explanation. I think the cafe wants to ruin itself; it will definitely lose money this way.

Simay İşleyen18.10.2026

Although its interior design suggests it's a cafe suitable for studying, the establishment stated that laptops or iPads cannot be used for studying at the tables for unspecified reasons. There are only two tables designated for studying with laptops and iPads. Furthermore, this rule was only mentioned after we ordered our coffees, even though we had already placed our iPads on the tables upon arrival.

belen iskender18.10.2026

I used to love coming here, but now they've completely turned everything into a business, and they frequently close the study area. You can see it because they post about book days on Instagram, but otherwise, you only find out when the closed area is used as a workshop when you go there; they don't share it, and those using it as a workshop don't come out at the stated time. When you ask them, they say they didn't say anything. Plus, they don't allow laptop use. I used to recommend it to everyone I know, but I would never recommend it anymore. If you really want a quiet and peaceful place to study, it's no longer a place to go. They operate on a "he who pays the piper calls the tune" policy.

Bilgesu18.10.2026

Located in Alsancak, this place has attracted a nice clientele. Being both a cafe and a bookstore creates a pleasant atmosphere. However, the owners don't behave in a way that aligns with the concept. Finding someone to answer the cash register is very difficult, and when we tried to connect to the Wi-Fi, we were told that many people were already connected and we might not be able to. This is the last thing you'd expect in a study-themed place. Also, as soon as we arrived, they stared at us, urging us to buy something to drink; I didn't feel comfortable.

Ilgaz Tibet18.10.2026

The "work" cafe has a ridiculous rule that prohibits the use of laptops and iPads.

Şenel KARAMAN18.10.2026

A small but peaceful place. The staff are attentive and do their jobs. There were employees with their laptops open, and others who came with friends to chat...
