the loveliest café we visited in athens. great filter coffee, the coffee beans we bought (omsom) are great for v60. the atmosphere is laid back, spacious, huge windows. Love the wooden interior (might have to update them in the near future to look a tiny bit less run down).
saw some people working at desks, it is a suitable place for laptop work.
Definitely recommend visiting the place!
A truly original atmosphere with strong Bauhaus and De Stijl influences — from posters to color schemes. The space is full of stickers and has a very “lived-in” feel. There’s also a co-working area and you can sit either inside or out front. We had matcha lattes, which were a bit too powdery — not the best choice. Their coffee is apparently what they’re known for, so we wish we had gone for that instead. They also sell a few designer t-shirts, adding to the artsy vibe.
Nice place to work with your laptop although it can get very loud in the middle of the day and the music volume of the place is not perfect if you look for a quiet place. The coffee is nice and also the cakes.
We had amazing breakfast there! Great food and coffee, very nice people working there and it looks amazing
10/10 cafe in Exarcheia. Top notch coffee, amazing and tasty home made treats like banana bread (vegan, no added sugar), lemon poppy seed loaf & cookies (you must try the one with chocolate ganache). Another good brunch option is the Smoked by the Fjord!
Always feel welcome here, friendly staff will serve you, thanks to the boys!
You can bring a laptop, a friend or a pet & enjoy the urban atmosphere always. Be sure to donate for Gaza & come back!
We had some excellent espresso and pour over coffee here. Nice seating especially outside. Cool aesthetic to the shop. The guy working was very nice. Solid place for a coffee hangout.
This place is really everything I could possibly want in a coffeeshop. It is pretty touristy but there were also always tons of locals so I appreciated that nice mix. They have amazing coffee - truly among the best I’ve had. A fantastic playlist. Incredible décor and vibes. A little shop selling great ‘1312’ gear and all sorts of cool art. People are friendly. Strong wifi. And every damn thing I ate there from sandwiches to breads was among the best food I ate in Athens. They’re doing amazing things here! I only wish I had visited every.single.day. I was in Athens. It’s that good.
Amazing coffee, awesome working people, ok boss 😈
During our visit to Athens, I wanted to explore the city’s best coffee shops and see how its culture and way of life are reflected in its café scene.
Behold the Man now holds a very special place in my heart.
As a barista myself, having spent years working in the café industry and gaining experience, I absolutely fell in love with this place.
So many cafés and restaurants tend to follow the same formulas. They often look alike, feel alike, and sometimes lack personality. But for the first time, I experienced something genuinely different. A place that doesn’t follow anyone else’s path, yet somehow does things even better. Bold, unconventional, full of character, and effortlessly cool.
The fact that its name is inspired by a book, its strong sense of community, and the huge communal tables welcoming people who want to sit with their laptops and work — all of these little details completely won me over.
You reminded me of something important: You don’t need a huge budget, fancy things, or to follow everyone else’s footsteps to create something beautiful, successful, and full of soul.
You just need originality, character, and the courage to do things your own way.
You’re wonderfully unconventional, and absolutely brilliant.
Thank you for the inspiration. ❤️
Thank you for the welcome. There was a water outage, but a kind gesture made up for it. It's a pleasant place to work; the Wi-Fi is a bit slow, but otherwise, everything is fine.
What a mess for a coffee shop that advertises itself as laptop friendly, when in reality it is not at all. When I went, it was a mess. The music was too loud, people were talking loudly and there was even tension over the few power outlets that were available, with people trying to decide who would charge their laptop first.
The situation was generally chaotic. At one point the internet didn’t even work, which was unacceptable. I didn’t like the atmosphere at all and what they are trying to promote as a concept, for me, didn’t work. And the worst part is that in 2026 the internet can’t be crawling.
