Something different. One of those days when you wake up with a clear idea in your head. The clarity that you need fresh air to fill your lungs and give your weary spirits a jolt of energy. The clarity of not knowing exactly what you need, and not caring. Just one idea, something different.

So, with this thought in mind, I jumped out of bed in my sunny Malaga apartment. Minutes before nine o'clock, just as the annoying alarm clock was about to do its thing—I'm not going to let you, even my biological clock is more of a devil than you—and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled my neighbor's room, and therefore, mine. What should I have for breakfast today? It didn't really matter what I had, it was more about where I had it. I concluded that the best thing to do was shower, grab my trusty New Balance sneakers, and cycle like there was no tomorrow to Plaza Poeta Alfonso Canales. What was there? Well, it's near Plaza de la Marina. In the well-known Soho district of Malaga, and, of course, most importantly, the home of the black marketeers, you'll find Café de Estraperlo.

Forgive this tedious introduction, but I couldn't find a better way to explain what this place, Café de Estraperlo, is all about. And that's exactly what it is: a complete experience. Something different, a breath of positive energy to face each day with joy.

Its location is unbeatable. It has delightful outdoor tables bathed in sunlight. Inside, the decor is elegant, modern, and contemporary. It's interspersed with the occasional photo exhibit or whatever is on display. Artistic, without a doubt. Classical music plays while Mark or José serve you behind a metal bar. Unhurried but steady. The customer comes first, and everyone deserves their time and attention. If you're looking for a quick coffee and want to leave, this isn't the place for you. No, don't leave the grease of stress in this place.

Breakfast and afternoon tea are their specialty. They're nothing fancy, don't get me wrong. Just regular bread and basic ingredients. But they're made with a lot of love. There's also time for some olives, a beer, a smile, and a good chat.

Oh, I almost forgot. They also have lightning-fast Wi-Fi—the kind that sometimes saves you from a tight spot, like it did for me.

Take advantage and enjoy a day, two, or however many you can, sitting at one of the tables in this place. Your life will pass by slowly. Everyone else's will fly by.

A unique and charming place. Good music. Good Wi-Fi. Good air conditioning. A nice little terrace to enjoy a drink. And above all, the great vibe and positivity of the staff is incredible. You can go there on a bad day and leave feeling great—true café therapy! 1000% real.
