Cold 'N Brew - Demangan

After a long time, I finally made it here; it was for a meeting. I arrived at 5:30 PM, just in time for the public gathering.
Luckily, I still had a motorcycle parking spot. I was surprised to see a thoughtful helmet rack on the wall leading to the entrance.

Once inside, I immediately ordered. If it's a simple order, you can wait and have it brought to you, or they'll give you a ringer. I ordered the Three-Layered Choco Cake and Cold Brew Berry.

Since it was already full, I sat at the bar, which was all empty—perhaps because the chairs are high and lack backrests, but they do have outlets underneath the bar table. It's not the perfect area for those who want to hang out for hours, but that's not a bad thing. Actually, they have a lot of seating options. Some have backrests, some are on the floor. There's indoor, outdoor, and semi-outdoor seating. It's complete. However, it's wise for those coming alone or with a friend to use the smaller area, or perhaps a single or two-person area. Many people come alone or in pairs, but they need to use the larger tables, so those in large groups are confused about where to sit.

Food-wise, I LOVE THE CAKE! I initially chose it because there were no other cake options left. I imagined the chocolate cake would be nauseating, but it didn't. At all. Try it yourself! It's smooth and surprisingly, not too sweet. In fact, I was surprised because it wasn't too sweet, which suits my palate well. It's perfect for enjoying a cold brew or even the bitter coffee drinks.

For the drink, I actually wanted something non-coffee because I had enough caffeine that day, but since the place's signature is cold brew, I chose one with a berry flavor. It's good and light. I like it! I'm curious about the other flavors, even the original one.

I'm also curious about the other menu items. It looks good. It's rare for a coffee shop to offer a menu that makes you curious like this.

The prices are really good for this ambiance.

They also open quite early, starting at 8:00 AM. I think I should try working from here next time. Even though the indoor area was full, it wasn't noisy, so it was comfortable.

I'd definitely recommend this place for a nice hangout with a satisfying menu!

In my opinion, this cafe is very comfortable for doing work or studying, because there are lots of sockets, there has comfortable thing is the bean bags, and what makes me most happy is that there is a place of pray, because most cafes still don't provide that. In terms of the standard food and beverage menu in general, there are lots of menu choices, but it's a bit expensive. And the minus of this cafe in my opinion is that the wifi is rather slow.

My visit to this coffee shop wasn’t very pleasant. I had a hard time finding a table with a power socket, which made it difficult since I came with the intention to work on my laptop. The atmosphere was also quite noisy, so it was hard to concentrate. The barista didn’t come across as very friendly or helpful. When I left, my clothes smelled strongly of coffee, which I found uncomfortable. The parking lot was also very limited, especially for cars, as the space was quite small.

The place is comfortable, but a little crowded. If you want to do your work quietly, it's better to choose indoor. The wifi is slow, it doesn't reach the back area.

Very uncomfortable and shocked with the cleanliness of this cafe. It's very different situation from Cold n Brew which is located on Jalan Parangtritis. I think there are so many spots that are not kept clean, first of all, the stage that being used in smoking area, it should be marked or there should be any signage that inform the customer to remove the footwear before they sit, it's because when I use the seat, I have to wipe it with wet tissue, and the results was very dirty. The wifi was sucks since it often disconnect suddenly (and it takes time to reconnect again). The bathroom was full of mosquitos that ready to consume customer's blood. Please be taken into as management consideration.

Also, untuk di tempat wudhu bisa dicek itu saluran pembuangan airnya sangat kecil. Bahkan saya td sempat ngepel by my own hand karena saking kotornya karena saluran pembuangannya sangat kecil padahal kotorannya numpuk parah. Mau wudhu jd agak jijik karena hal tsb.

I was worried about finding a good coffee in Jogja (I’m not a Starbucks fan), but I ordered an iced latte with the specialty beans twice from here and both times it was perfect. The cafe has a nice relaxed and cool atmosphere with many younger people working on their laptops, and there’s seperate smoking/vaping areas if that’s your thing. The food selection is limited but most items are ok. It was a nice little oasis to have a break.

Place is really cozy, large spaces good for co-working space. What I like about this place they open until really late at night so its nice when hanging out with friends. The drinks are nice but nothing special.

the service is so so, but i would not say it was nice either. I'm more concerned about some facilities they offer. I've been here three times and i always have bad experiences. First, the air conditioner doesn't seem to be working, second they are out of capacity, third the electricity doesn't seem quite ok because they were out in both of my visita and sadly my laptop went off everytime the electricity out, and gee the wifi doesn't work at all! i wonder why it is so much different than cnb paris tho they're basically same

One on the best Coffee shop and Co working in Town

At first, I often went to the cafe in front, sometimes just to park there. Finally, in early February, I started to get bored and wanted to explore, who knows, maybe it would be a good fit. When I arrived, I really did find this cafe.

In terms of location, it's very fitting, with lighting that doesn't hurt your eyes. It's perfect for meetings or Zoom meetings, WFC, assignments, and even hanging out. There's indoor and outdoor seating, a (clean!) restroom, a photo booth, Wi-Fi, plenty of power outlets, and payment via QR code, super cool AC, a helmet stand, and a relatively spacious parking lot in the Demangan area (motorcycle parking is Rp2,000, okay!).

The menu offers coffee and non-coffee options, everything is not overpriced, still affordable for students, and most importantly, it's comfortable. I admire cafes that don't just focus on aesthetics but also pay attention to the quality of their food.

Overall, the coffee, service, and location are superior to the one on Parangtritis Street.

Coffee: Delicious as usual, but the flavor is just right and bolder than the one on Paris Street (which I ordered twice at different times).

Pastry: No doubt about the pastry.

Service: Sorry, but I actually like the basic service. The friendly personality of the Jl Paris crew is better.

Atmosphere: The indoor AC, non-smoking area is a bit limited. The outdoor area is okay for a crowd, but it does get a bit humid when it rains.

Plus points: The prayer room is quite spacious, and the Wi-Fi is undeniable.

*This comes down to personal preference, but maybe because I work with a toddler, there are a few points that are a bit lacking, especially the service and location.

A comfortable and fun place to work from home or study. Plenty of outlets are available, smoking and non-smoking areas are separated, and there's also a relaxing spot with bean bags. It's comfortable to linger while working on your laptop. The vibe is easy and calm. The service is good and friendly. The prices are standard. The coffee and beverages are great! 👍🏻

The place is spacious. Indoor, outdoor, and smoking areas are available. The Wi-Fi is quite good, I checked earlier and it's at 30 Mbps. There are two bathrooms. The prayer room is okay, it can accommodate 5 people.

Minuses: The AC is terrible, I can't feel it at all, and it's very hot indoors. The cashier could smile a little, because I'm too lazy to order more. The bathroom lighting could be improved, it's too dim. The ablution faucet could be replaced with a smaller one, perhaps? The water is too strong, and if you open it halfway, it sprays everywhere. The food and drinks honestly don't match the price. But since this is a coworking space, that's okay 🫠

On my previous visit, I gave it a 3 rating due to the opening hours and the numerous shortcomings I've mentioned below. However, five months later, I returned to Yogyakarta for a few weeks, and I returned to CNB Demangan for some remote work.

Surprisingly, there's been quite a bit of improvement compared to five months ago. Here's an update on some previous complaints:
1. The room has become a comfortable place to hang out, study, and work. The temperature is just right, not too cold or hot.
2. The Wi-Fi is stable and decent for surfing the internet, conference calls/meetings, social media, etc. Except perhaps when there are a lot of people, the speed slows down, but it's still okay.
3. Service has become faster, with an estimated 15 minutes for orders. Upon entering, you're immediately greeted warmly by the cashier/waitress/barista. The cashier and barista immediately take your order and can help explain the food/drink products and offer suggestions based on your preferences. 4. It's certainly much more organized. It's neat and tidy, and it's no longer dirty. While some upgrades are still in progress, they don't bother customers. Seating is plentiful and spacious, making it a recommended place to work, hang out, or study.

Oh, and for the coffee, it's delicious. I've ordered the iced Americano, original cold brew, and hot cappuccino. For non-coffee options, the iced chocolate is also delicious, not too sweet. The spaghetti isn't anything special, but it's pretty decent.

Overall, a big thumbs up for Cold n Brew Demangan! Best of luck!

First visit in June 2021

It actually has great potential. It's close to several universities, making it a great place to hang out, chat, do assignments, etc. The place also has a good concept, with both indoor and outdoor seating, and plenty of seating. The drinks taste good and are also on point.

However, there are a few things that need improvement.
1. Heat. Yup, the indoor area is very hot, whether the AC is on or not, but it's still hot from morning until late afternoon, especially during the day. Perhaps the room temperature management could be improved.
2. Wi-Fi. Cafes should have good, fast Wi-Fi, as they're often used for assignments and other things. The Wi-Fi here is incredibly slow all day long and often without internet. Many people complain about the same thing.
3. Slow service. Perhaps because it's new, but ordering a drink can take almost an hour, especially during busy times. Both the quantity and the speed of the baristas/waitresses need to be improved.
4. Some details/areas of the room are still untidy and dirty. It's a shame that some corners are still untidy and appear rushed. It would be better to have a proper and neat finish rather than rushing like this.

Overall, Cold n Brew has great potential: spacious, plenty of seating, competitive prices, and a very strategic location. Hopefully, it can be improved in the future and continues to be successful.

Cold n Brew Demangan's outdoor area features bean bags. So, those who want to work while lying down can do so. The ambiance, like Cold n Brew, feels elegant and upscale. The coffee is definitely delicious, even if it's quite pricey.

For those who want to work on a laptop or read large books, this cafe is perfect thanks to its numerous power outlets and spacious tables.
Overall, this cafe is worth it.

When I arrived at night, the atmosphere was quite lively, and it seemed to get busier as the night went on.
Mostly young people were hanging out, and some were probably working. Most of them were carrying gadgets, perhaps the Wi-Fi was good, but I didn't try it.

The drinks tasted good. I ordered an iced Americano. I asked for diet sugar, but it wasn't available, so I just got bitter ice, hehe.
I didn't order food because I'm low-carb, and the menu is mostly carbohydrate-based, like bread, pasta, etc.

Cozy, comfortable place, lots of choices for indoor, outdoor, or sitting on the floor, depending on your taste and needs. The space is spacious.
Toilets and a prayer room are available.
Very worth a visit.

Please improve the cafe management. I pay a lot of money to enjoy the facilities, especially the Wi-Fi, but when I tested the Wi-Fi speed, it was only this fast.
If you know there are so many customers, you shouldn't be selfish and only focus on profit.

It's pretty fun to hang out with friends or do assignments, many students here bring laptops hehehe.. there's indoor and outdoor.. spacious place.. 24 hours hehe 😅👍

A comfortable place to relax, work, hang out with friends, or study. Several separate rooms are very effective for people who want a quiet space like me. However, there is a downside: the music is still the same as the outdoor area, so for people who need to concentrate hard without music, the outdoor area might be better. The drinks are still a bit pricey but tasty. There is a prayer room, Wi-Fi, lots of charging points, and a choice of sofas or regular chairs. There is a spacious outdoor area or a sufficient smoking room. Unfortunately, when there are too many people, the Wi-Fi becomes slower than usual.

Those looking for a coffee shop to do assignments, hang out, the place is comfortable, the coffee is definitely delicious, lots of sockets, wifi area, service and ambiance are good. You must come here.

So, not long after I gave my review of experience 1, I went back. For my second visit, I was amazed by the various changes that management has made, especially related to my review of experience 1 below this one. I think it's great that management really listens to customer suggestions, for example:
1. There's a greeting from the team when you enter and when you leave.
2. The bar stool where I used to sit, which was directly opposite the trash can and sink, has been removed, so customers feel more comfortable without having to see trash and dishes.
3. Food and drink orders are now served by baristas, not cashiers, so the cashiers are truly focused on customers selecting their orders.
4. There's more air conditioning in the indoor area, but maybe more could be added.
5. The coffee flavor is still mild, or maybe it's just the type of coffee, but maybe that's just the way it is. But the food is delicious and the preparation is evident...

Thank you, management, for truly listening to our suggestions and criticisms professionally... Keep up the good work 👍

So, this was my first time here. After hearing that CnB was already famous in the neighboring city, I finally decided to try this branch. My first impression was "cold," but not the place, but the service.... While the place is large and spacious, it's full of seats, but it's soooooo hot... And it turns out there's only one air conditioner in the indoor non-smoking area... I'll explain my experience here. Hopefully, there will be improvements, because the concept is actually good, and the room is also nice, but the following things are very disappointing...
1. Cold service. I'm used to coffee shops in Yogyakarta, where most people greet new customers, but here at CnB, there's no greeting at all... the cashier didn't even help or recommend any of the menu items. When I entered, I looked at the menu, not at... say hello, but the cashier was busy with people who wanted to pick up their finished orders, yeah... the cashier and pick up order place were too close, the cashier's concentration was divided, so I who was in front of the cashier, felt ignored, not helped recommended etc... Until, I said "I want to order, can I?" Because the cashier was that busy with other things, please fix it, so that customers who come don't feel ignored and please, at least there is a greeting.. Even small cafe faucets, have made it their service standard.
2. It's hot, yes Indoor needs more AC, with the hot atmosphere of Jogja, 1 AC is not enough, and because it was full, I chose to sit at the bar, which is under the AC, to get the cool breeze, but unfortunately, in front of me was a trash can and a sink which I think is unpleasant to look at because it was full, plus the employee threw trash from a distance, I think it was impolite, because there were customers. The one who's drinking in front of the trash can... Please fix it again...
3. wifi, actually there's no problem with this, because the wifi is fast, but please once again, lol, write down the wifi password on the receipt or somewhere so customers can find it immediately and don't have to ask the employee, because when I asked "Sir, what's the wifi password?" The guy, in a rush, I don't know what, but what I heard was...wstwtdemangan, he answered so quickly that I had to guess the beginning...if you're tired of being asked about the wifi password, just write it down in front of the cashier... So all customers can watch and don't have to ask.
4. Sorry again, the taste is lacking...bland like drinking milk, even though I ordered salted caramel, I didn't taste the salted caramel at all.
5. So uncomfortable that I finally left CnB less than half an hour later, and when I went home again, there was no word from the employee, even though they didn't have any customers to serve, because even small cafes in Jogja always say "thank you, come again"... These small things show how much they appreciate their customers.

It's comfortable, with more private spaces for working or just hanging out. The prayer room and restrooms are clean, the Wi-Fi is fast, and there's live music in the evenings.

A great place to work. The Wi-Fi is quite fast. The selection of main courses could be expanded. Overall, it's okay and recommended.

The smoking and non-smoking areas are equally comfortable, with wooden chairs, cushioned seating, and a floor-to-ceiling seating area. The Wi-Fi is smooth, and the air conditioning is cool, even the non-AC area is cool thanks to the many plants. The menu is delicious for standard cafe prices. Opening at 7 a.m. is definitely helpful for morning people to be productive.

The place is actually nice, spacious, and the coffee is good. But the music is too loud for a workspace. I'm here from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and the playlist is the same. It's boring. It's only SIA songs. There are lots of fun playlist updates, or R&B songs would be better for co-working like this.

This place is perfect for those of you who want to work from home. You can work here in any seating arrangement. Food and drinks are available for order. Wi-Fi is free and very fast. The prayer room is clean.

I asked for food delivery because I was in a meeting, but the waiter refused. So I had to go back and forth to get food and drinks, not all at once. There are 4 Wi-Fi networks, but I can't use all of them. The toilets are wet and dirty. 😪
