Very kind and chill place, allows laptop work with orders. The eggs are delicious and the Eggs Benedict are available with salmon or ham and have gluten free option. The smoothies are varied and fresh, and there's golden milk lattes!

The best pancakes in the area! The place is verry chill and relaxed. The food is great and they have a beautifull work table to come with your laptop and work from there.

My fave cafe my one week long stay in Poblenou. Great coffee, pancakes with red fruits and lime, sympathetic servers and comfy atmosphere, great for srudying or working!

Good coffee and carrot cake, the ice latte not so much taste, nice atmosphere, friendly service. The only thing: if you go with a baby they don't have changing station on the toilet. I like the fact that just in some tables you can work with the laptop.

Had a lovely cortado here for €1.90 friendly staff and big open plan space with lots of people working here.

Favourite spot in Barcelona to spend a few hours working or reading. One of the few cafes with this much natural light, a calm vibe and incredibly friendly staff. Great choice of tasty and healthy breakfast options and the coffee is 👌

Solid place. Bacon is a little too salty in the eggs benedict but overall a decent place. Good to bring your laptop and get work in. Good coffee.
2.5€ for water is a little egregious but whatever

The place itself is very nice. The stuff… let’s talk about it. The guys working there are all sufficiently nice and professional. The girls, especially the one with tattoos, she makes you feel like she’s doing you a favour for being there. Very rude: she never replies when you say hello, never a smile, super cold and unfriendly.

Generally speaking, you can take a sit there and wait all day long: nobody will come to serve you, unless you ask them. And then wait and take your time, don’t expect to ask for a bottle a water and have it in 5 minutes: the water has to be cooked no?

The food… if you want to spend a lot for poor quality, this is the place: the açai is melted; the orange juice is rotten; one of their main dishes, the one with rice, is way too salted. All for crazy prices!

The only good thing there is the location.

The food was fine but I felt the service was unpleasant. You are not allowed to order on the bar but they firstly serve ppl for take away at the bar. You aren't allowed to use a laptop, only on the stared desk, even if there is no space. Eventually it took them 10 mins to take my order, but just a few seconds from all the personnel in a rude manner to push me to remove a laptop even if I asked beforehand. Felt very unwelcoming.

I recently spent the day working from Federal Café Poblenou in Barcelona and it was awesome! I had two meals, both were delicious. I was a bit confused by whether it was table or counter service and it was really busy, but the staff dealt with my terrible Spanish well and service was quick. I’d definitely go again and recommend it to my friends!

I was writing a couple of emails sitting outside because my phone turned off, and I had to reply to some messages.
It must have taken me at most 10 minutes, they managed to nag me twice about it because "you can't use your laptop outside" I told them that I wasn't working, I was sending some emails, what's the difference if I'm doing so with my phone or laptop? I hadn't even received what I ordered but they managed to come twice angrily telling me this. What a bunch of bs, rude and idiotic since all the outside tables were empty, and inside there was barely a third of the place occupied, so I was not disrupting anything with my 10 minutes of emails, which I would have done on my phone had it not turned off. You might have a rule but it's up to your common sense and intelligence (not much of it) to know when to inforce it or not, it was rude and stupid.
Other than the fact that this place is just overpriced crap for tourists.
The waiters were one young lady and a guy with long hair and ear dilators, who was particularly rude and gave me this nasty side eye as if I was doing something truly despicable, what an inept.

By the response it's clear this café doesn't care, if I had been using my phone or my laptop for those 10 minutes there would have been no difference for the other "customers" and my food had not even arrived yet. It's stupid and rules are made to promote a favorable enviroment, not to nag and annoy people when the rule will not benefit anyone, what an idiotic way to think.

Had good Eggs Benedict and latte. Service workers are super kind. Limited space and so so internet (understandable) at community table for doing some laptop work. Got the job done. Average (pricey) brunch price for Barcelona beach area but when you add in the ability to get a little work done it’s an overall good value and nice, friendly service environment. :)

Food and coffee is good, but about the rules of the place what you can do or can not you will know only after you make an order. They could ask you get out of the table outside because you use your laptop. Simple. Rules have to be announced before the order of client. Otherwise it’s ruined all loyalty and will never come back.

We had brunch there and I also went back the same day to get takeaway coffee for me and my friends. Coffee is great, the staff very friendly, and the french toast yummy! They brought my friend the wrong order twice but this can happen especially while working in this heat:)

They’ve got a big table for people who want to work on their laptop. We went there to discuss a web design with my partner over a coffee which would have lasted ~ 20 minutes. The server told we can’t use laptops on a random table and can only use on the big table which is specified for work which was already full enough to have a decent discussion.

Wondering today they’re controlling on our laptops tomorrow they’ll do our phones and what we can wear? 😀

Better go to and random coffee shops, loads in vicinity then this.

Why good reviews? This place experiences lack of kindness and hospitality. Staff acts as if you came inside their house without asking, bothering with your time. I needed to wait for my friend around 30 mins to order food together and grab a short lunch. Ordered a coffee, wanted to check my email. I was said to ONLY sit at the big table with my laptop, which was fully booked, but all other tables were free. What’s with the wierd sitting arrangement? Can I even read a book at the table? Can I breathe in this cafe? You’d better figure out your concept. Definately not coming back. It’s racism in some way.

Very cozy place in a quiet neighborhood. I love the pancakes and the green juice. There’s a big shared table where you can use your laptop. Staff are friendly.

Great place just to hang out the entire day. Cushioned window seats where you can sit half in and half out, tables outside, and of course inside. Great food and decent coffee (full café menu, not just snacks or desserts) with enough choice to keep vegetarians and vegans happy. Free, strong wifi and they seem to be used to people bringing their laptops and hanging out (plugs at the big communal table, which is near the window seats, which also has a couple of plugs). Nice and relaxed atmosphere.

I live in Poblenou and have come here many many times. But today was my last. My husband and I came for breakfast and coffee. 1/2 way through our meal we were syncing up our business calendars and I had to look on my computer, so I opened it to see the calendar. One of the staff came over and showed me a little place card that said if you are going to study or co-work do it at the big table. I told him it was just for 5 minutes and he said we could move and that he had people waiting for a table. So I closed the computer and pulled it up on my phone and we ordered another coffee each. Meanwhile another guy at a table that was there before us, opens his computer - nobody said anything to him. And behind us there were a group of 3 and a kid with all their stuff on the table, no coffee or food and they were just hanging around (they were also there before us). There was nobody waiting for a table and 3 open inside. So, why single us out? We ordered food, ordered 2 coffees, we weren't there taking up space long after we finished, we weren't working. What's the different with me closing my computer and pulling it up on my phone or just sitting talking. Great way to treat a loyal customer. I won't be back.

If you're looking for a great café in Poblenou, look no further than Federal Café Poblenou. The food is top-notch, the service is wonderful, and the price is more than fair. I had an amazing time at this café and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. The people working there are friendly, down to earth and you feel like a regular ayer you've been twice. Can't recommend it enough!

The first time I went there it looked like the staff just didn't want to be working there, very awkward. I didn't take it personally and two months later, I went there with a friend, but again the service was super rude and the food was poor quality-price. Honestly, I don't get why they still have some good reviews... You needn't be fussy to look for a better place nearby, there are plenty of them.

I've had Egg Benedict and a Sandwich, nothing special I have to say.
Orange juice is not fresh squeezed (despite what is written in the menu) and there is no air conditioner, not the best place to work with your laptop

Horrible experience... Went there with 3 other friends. Sat down to eat and one of us had to check his laptop. They kicked us out because we are not supposed to work on the tables. Really poor managent and they do not know how to manage a brunch place or lunch or coworking spot. Pick one and do it well. Awful place to work from and the food prices are too high. There are much better options in Poblenou!!

Always a pleasure visiting Federal Cafe in Poblebou. The food is best quality, fresh and healthy. The service is excellent, friendly and welcoming. If you want to work with your laptop, the free wifi and the huge table is allowing you to work and enjoy the place outside of your office/home.

Love Federal and the brand! Strong wifi connection, chill playlist and comfy seating. Great environment to work in and be productive. Also loved the coffee and the food. Staff were friendly and welcoming too

Came with a smile only to be ignored by the waitress. Still sat thinking it’s maybe me, till i was further ignored and just left. Add to it their stupid laptop policy, to save space for larger groups. No thsnks

Atmosphere is mixed. It’s a cute spot, very stylish but generally crowded and very noisy inside. Good place to stop by for coffee but if you’re trying to get some work done I’d definitely go elsewhere. wifi was very slow and glitchy.

Friendly welcome... large space... minimalist decor... had breakfast twice... delicious... rather healthy style... good wifi and large communal table so ideal for working... smaller tables available... and service on the terrace too... I recommend it!

The worst service ever. I don't understand what happened today because everything was fine before. First, after ordering food, I opened my laptop while waiting, and one of the waiters started telling me I had to close it in a very rude way. I wasn't there to study or work; I came to eat. I just wanted to read messages. He practically started yelling. Rules are rules. But I could have explained things patiently and with a smile.

Then, a couple of minutes later, another waiter came by and said that what I ordered was from the "late" menu, which wasn't available at that time. But why did they bring it to me in that case? I go there very often, and I used to like everything. But after how I was treated today, I'll never go back. If the waiter is having a bad day, that's not the problem of the people who come to eat.
