Fleur's Koffie

This is a lovely neighborhood cafe. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Coffee quality and preparation of the espresso was very nice (if you like strong coffee). I had the walnut and Brie coffee and it was great. It has outside seating as well. For some, it could be a dealbreaker that they restrict use of laptops to just a few tables inside.

Personally, I find this restriction a bit pointless in the outside seats, since it is more likely than not that you’d leave when your laptop’s battery gets low… but to each its own I guess.

Fleur, Luna, Laura, Charlotte and all the other fantastic people that work here make the difference. They enjoy working together and as a customer you feel it on everything. The delicious and beautiful plating, the creative combination on the meals, the precise coffee preparation… it is all on-spot! Welcoming decoration prepared to all kinds of moods. And all you need when you bring your kids!

I visited this coffee place today at 15:00 and I planned to work on my laptop until 17:00 (the usual closing time). However, at 15:30 they told me they will close at 16:00 due to the weather. I assume they just wanted to leave earlier. In this case they have to tell people when they order, not after that. They also told me I can’t usually sit with my laptop on every table, but there was no sign it is not allowed to sit on a normal table with my laptop. The place was also empty, so I find this comment unnecessary. The kitchen was also already closed at 15:00.

Fleur's is one of the best caffes. You will always get nice coffee, and tasty, with quality ingredients and reasonably priced lunch. Don't forget to try the amazing brownie or the other cakes. The waitresses there always have a genuine smile, which of course adds to the already great experience. Inside there are plugs for the laptop, and if you don't need silence to work, then it's a good alternative +you ll drink a nice coffee!

The food was nice, however, the service like some reviews are saying was not great and in particular one waitress, (i believe the owner) she was rude a passive aggressive. Due to limited space that the cafe has, you can only sit at certain tables with your laptop, however this is only communicated in Dutch, which is strange because there are many internationals here. No being aware of this rule, when I sat down to start studying, ordered and received my food, it was only then communicated to me that I can not sit there, however she mentioned that she will talk with her colleague. Eventually, the owner came to me and began to talk passive aggressively saying that I was already asked to move, (when I was still waiting on an answer). At this point she told me to sit somewhere else, however, all the tables where you could only sit with laptop were full. And the only option was next to the coffee machine and where they take orders, which was quite uncomfortable and loud. I find the situation very unfortunate because my boyfriend especially dropped me off because I have nerve pain and cannot walk so easily, so walking around and finding another cafe in the area would be difficult. At the end I just finished eating, paid and left. I would not recommend this place either due to their rules being in Dutch, the service, and limited space inside especially during lunch time if you are not a group of four, you can not really sit at a big table because its seems as though they would prefer quantity for more income over quality of hospitality.

Best brownie in town for your sugar cravings and lovely staff. You can work there comfortably with your laptop.

I don't drink much coffee, so when I do, I'd rather have a pro make it for me than make it at home.

And I'm not a coffee snob, but I made a pact with myself some time ago that I wouldn't put things in my mouth that I don't like anymore.

So I was surprised to find that they make truly delicious cappuccino here. Not too much milk, not too bitter. Really top-notch to my taste.

So now I'm doomed to have all my coffee appointments at Fleur's. 😁

The sandwiches are tasty too, the ladies provide great service, and I'm happy with the no-laptop rule at the regular tables.
