We cam before they close in by 30 min and they didn’t mention that they will close early and we sit up out laptop and after we ordered they came telling us ( we will close early )??? So you wanted us to order and go without telling us anything!!! Bad bad service.

In the past month, they’ve forgotten my food or drink order on 4 separate occasions, and I have to remind them of what I ordered. I now question whether they are busy with orders or if they forgot again.
Still a great place to get work done (no wifi though, use hotspot), and for the most part, everything is of decently consistent quality.

If you don’t have wifi on the weekend, post that some place that I will read BEFORE I buy your $4 coffee.

2 stars because the coffee wasn’t bad

Hawaiian latte was delicious with almond milk. It is a tad too sweet for my liking, but nonetheless delicious. Very spacious and calm environment. The baristas were having a great time and they looked very happy. I agree with another comment about the wifi. It got slower towards the later afternoon. I’m definitely coming back in the future to get coffee and to study there again!

I've come here a lot, I don't live the area, so it's where I end up between things. It is always so consistent, the drinks are so well done, such a tidy space. Great for getting some work done.

Great coffee and a nice place to relax or work/study!

I think this no-wifi on weekends and limited wifi on weekdays policy is a bit off for this specific cafe. Because the interior and the setting is more of work-oriented than the social $ comfortable setting.

I used to come here a fair amount. Haven't been back in a while. Came back to find new seating arrangement which was welcome. Happy to find many seats available. I found out why.

New policy of no internet weekends. So many new cafes open, I won't be back. Their clientele is mostly remote work. Coffee is bitter so I'm not here for the coffee. They have a sign about some rationale for no wifi. Don't patronize your customers - policy has nothing to do with the nonsense of authentic Hawaiian experience without wifi. It's about $

Service is usually indifferent at best.

To Kona management: Know your audience and know your competition.

I was roaming the eclectic streets of East Village for about 30 minutes yesterday, looking for a coffee shop where I can sit and get work done. I was continually running into 2 consistent problems:

1) There is nowhere to sit at the vast majority of coffee shops
2) If there is a place to sit, there is no wifi.

Well I guess now that I type it out, it makes sense. Actually a lot of sense.
They don't want brogrammers coming and posting up working from their shop all day taking up all the seats from other potential paying customers.
But on the other hand, as a consumer, sometimes I just want to get out of the crib for an hour or 2 and be in a different space to get the creative juices flowing.
Idk but anyways, Kona restored my hope. I write this to you, my humble reader, from one of the about 30+ seats in this place after just having a productive 2-hour session working powered by Kona's signature cold brew. Rocket fuel as the locals call it.

I guess their wifi is only during the weekdays, but that's all I'm asking for. Thank you, Kona :)

Great selection of specialty latte (a bit on the sweet side) and the avocado toast was delicious! They also have wifi

Good place for work, spacious table

G P14.02.2025

Plastic cups (even if you say it is not to go). Mediocre service, super cheap and cramped seating/furniture and $$$ for the coffee which by the way isn't that good.
If you don't want people parked at a table for hours get creative, everyone has a hotspot nowadays and your setup is clearly geared towards laptop work not living room cozy vibes.

Not sure what this place is trying to pivot to, but as of recent it’s gone downhill. workers always in a bad mood, and don’t pay attention. They are now banning laptops and getting rid of their larger tables. RIP one of my favorite coffee/work spaces.

Meg Hutchinson14.02.2025

I love Kona. It’s my favorite place to get work done during the day, and I’m grateful they allow laptops. The coffee is so good- they have a macadamia nut and coconut flavor shot that you can add to coffee or lattes. It’s so good. Food is great too. Staff always friendly and smiling. Love it here!

I come to this place every time i visit NYC. The Hawaiian latte has macadamia coconut and it is SO GOOD. Great place to do work/chill and staff are super nice
