If you’re in São Paulo and craving a spot that delivers on both incredible coffee and seriously delicious food, stop everything and head to Mug.sp. I visited the Avenida Paulista location (and I’ve heard the Jardins one is just as magical), and it completely exceeded my expectations.
The coffee? Straight-up divine. Rich, perfectly extracted, with that smooth, complex flavor profile that makes you close your eyes on the first sip. Whether you go for a classic espresso, a creamy flat white, or one of their specialty drinks, it’s clear they know exactly what they’re doing. This isn’t just “good coffee for Brazil” — this is world-class coffee that would hold its own anywhere.
The food matched it sip for sip. Everything I tried felt fresh, thoughtful, and packed with flavor. The brunch options are next-level — perfectly executed pastries, vibrant toasts, and dishes that strike that perfect balance between comforting and elevated. Generous portions, beautiful presentation, and ingredients that taste like they were picked that morning. It’s the kind of place where every bite makes you want to order more.
The vibe seals the deal: cozy, welcoming, with lush greenery that makes you forget you’re in one of the world’s biggest cities. Pet-friendly, great for solo laptop sessions or catching up with friends. The service was warm and attentive without being overbearing.
Mug.sp isn’t just another café — it’s a proper São Paulo experience. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and go. You’ll leave happier, more caffeinated, and already planning your return visit.
Highly, highly recommend. One of the best café finds in the city. Mug.sp, you’ve earned a permanent spot on my São Paulo rotation. ❤️
(Pro tip: Go hungry and stay a while.)
Sure! Here's a review of MUG Café Faria Lima, with a very personal tone—as if I were telling you about it in a coffee shop conversation:
—
You know that place you walk into and feel like time slows down a bit? That's exactly the feeling I had the first time I went to MUG Café, there on Faria Lima. In the midst of the chaos of São Paulo, that space is like a breath of fresh air—it feels like you've been teleported to a calm, beautiful, and charming refuge.
The atmosphere is super pleasant: lots of natural light, decoration with plants, light wood, a minimalist but cozy feel. It's the kind of place you want to spend hours in, whether alone reading a book, working on your laptop, or chatting with someone special. You can feel that everything there was carefully thought out.
And the food… wow. I'm passionate about brunch, and MUG nails it. I ordered the Tostada Serrana and was enchanted. The naturally fermented bread is sensational, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. They use goat cheese Boursin, cured copa ham, and a touch of organic honey—it sounds simple, but it's a combination of flavors that makes you close your eyes and say "wow" without even realizing it. Everything on the plate has a purpose.
The coffee is another highlight. They grind it fresh and serve it in a large mug that immediately provides that comforting feeling. And if it's hot, I highly recommend the pomegranate Italian soda—light, sweet in just the right amount, perfect for refreshing.
The cool thing is that they are very concerned with sustainability. The eggs come from free-range chickens, the milk is from cows raised in the wild, and all of this makes a difference—not only in the flavor, but in the feeling of consuming something with purpose.
Now, to be completely honest: if you go on a weekend, be prepared for a line. The place is packed. And the service, although friendly, can sometimes be a little slow when it's crowded. But honestly? It's worth the wait. And once you sit down, it feels like the world outside slows down along with you.
If you enjoy soulful coffee, elaborate brunches, and atmospheres that make you forget you're in São Paulo for a few moments, MUG is a must-visit. I go back whenever I can.
Great for co-working, and Fernando's service was excellent.
I love Mug, especially this location. The server, Pedro, is kind.
Good wifi, good food.
They have lactose-free and gluten-free options, but they don't have options that are both gluten-free and lactose-free together – it's one or the other. This makes it difficult for those who have problems with both.
If the sofas had full backrests, the comfort would be better; the backrest only goes up to the lumbar region.
One of the bathrooms doesn't lock properly; I've already been embarrassed by this.
