This place gets everything right. Has become my favourite when visiting Chicago. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Ask the staff for toilet door passcode

This is my new favorite coffee shop!! I have been recommending it to everyone I know. Even when it's busy, the people working are so kind and so chill. This next part is specifically for Johnathan (I think your name is Johnathan...whoever is in charge of the drinks menu): I am begging you, please PLEASE make the grapefruit rosemary latte a permanent item on the menu! I love it so much, I understand it has a very seasonal vibe, but it's so unique and delicious, I would drink it every day if I could. Please consider it (: If it does have to leave at the end of the season, I look forward to whatever the next seasonal drink may be, but damn this is a good coffee!!

Hands down the best coffee shop in the area if you need to work while having your coffee. I had to hang out in this area for a few hours waiting for someone. I first went to the Starbucks at Belmont and Clark--Starbucks is usually reliable for plugs but this Starbucks location is somewhat small with only one set of plugs in the floor by the door (at least as far as I could tell). Pedestrian is the opposite--quite a wide range of (mostly shared) work areas with accessible plugs at just about every seat. Coffee options are waaaaay better than Starbucks--I particularly liked the cardamom-rose latte which was so flavorful and not overly sweet. The folks who were working there were also super nice, even though every 20 mins or so they'd get a rush of customers and have to work super hard to get them through quickly. Thank you, Pedestrian for a great place to get work done (and enjoy coffee).

You gotta check this place out! I was surprised it's just east of the Belmont train stop and new, so there's a lot of tables and nooks to choose from, and people have yet to discover this gem. This is the place where you can be productive daily without being bothered. There are electrical and USB plugs, pretty much 2-3 feet from most seats, you can bring your laptop or tablet and work all day long. It's so new, they really planned and anticipated to make themselves fully available to as many as possible. Come inside and you'll discover an enormous space that the misleading narrow facade doesn't show. The toilets are very clean and there are more hidden seats outside, still shaded, but away from the A/C if that's what you want.

I’ve lived in the area for a year now and this has been my favorite place to be/work from. They have divine lattes, amazing workspaces with lots of outlets, and friendly staff. It’s truly become my happy place and has brought me so much joy while working remotely.

I’m always happy every time I come here. The people working are always so kind & just the right type of people you want to see in the morning. It’s super welcoming, and the environment is really sweet. Just the other day it smelled so good in here, I could hear others talking about it as well. I always find myself dreaming of their honey lavender latte:’) it’s the spot I always return to!

This is my 5th time at Pedestrian in the last few weeks and I love it here. The espresso drinks are very smooth with fun flavors. I don't usually like iced coffee as much but theirs is well-balanced and more earthy than acidic. Try it with the nutella syrup! I enjoyed the chai latte as well--good tea to milk ratio. Awesome baked goods made in-house.

But what really sets this place apart is the atmosphere. I've found plenty of seating and outlets here even on busier weekend hours, the wifi is fast and great for getting work done. Even the music, lighting, and art are such a vibe. And don't worry, you can't hear the train. I'd encourage you to stop by--you just might see me there!

Amazing staff + Tasty coffee = Amazing experience.

I recently visited this coffee shop and fell in love with it right away. I ordered a pour over and the staff were super friendly and helpful when making the coffee. The pour over itself was super flavorful and was just what I needed.

The atmosphere is great for reading, working, or even catching up with friends over coffee. There is plenty of seating, so you’ll definitely be able to find a spot to gather while enjoying a great cup of coffee.

I would highly recommend this spot and I look forward to going back soon.

TLDR: Cute coffee shop with friendly staff and a studious yet social atmosphere.

Easily my favorite coffee shop to relax and get work done in Chicago. The staff are extremely friendly and will begin to recognize you if you come semi-regularly. The food is fresh baked and delicious, drinks made to order with some fascinating combinations you won't find anywhere else. The seating area is pleasantly lit, with good music, and the patrons are either working on laptops or quietly talking with friends. I love this place and come at every available opportunity.

P.S. check out the patio on the side. If the weather is remotely tolerable, that's my go to spot.

I loved the work-friendly atmosphere . Plenty of plugs available, free wifi and lots of people with their laptops. Friendly staff and good beverages 🔝

My husband and I go to a different coffee shop every Friday (fancy coffee friday!) and we tried out Pedestrian Coffee yesterday. In addition to the coffee being really tasty - I had an iced Charlatte and my husband had their iced coffee (still thought it was one of the better ones in the area) - the kind service we were met with was extremely memorable and honestly very rare these days. Thank you Taylor for making our Friday!! We are looking forward to going back to Pedestrian for more code and trying out their pastries, all which looked amazing. The seating area also looked like a great co-working spot if you need to take a break from working from home.

one of my favorite coffee shops in the city!! the menu boasts creativity with all their drinks, while keeping just the right amount of sweetness. you can find a plethora of housemade pastries as well. as for me, i am very partial to their sourdough cinnamon rolls :) their beans make a great gift for any coffee lover too.

if remote working or studying is your thing, this is a great place to do it. theres many tables to spread out & study, and has great ambiance.

the customer service is also great! there are phenomenal baristas that work here.

I just moved to Lakeview (all the way from Lincoln Park😬). I never found a good go-to coffee shop in my years in LP but while my new house is still full of boxes, I discovered pedestrian coffee right by my new train stop on Belmont and I’m hooked! The staff is great and attentive and the coffee is amazing - especially if you are like me and you like your espresso on the more blonde side.

There is also a ton of seating for working or studying if that is what you are looking for.

Definitely recommend this spot if you are in the area

I am writing this in a different coffee shop, wishing I was at Pedestrian Coffee instead! I came here to study on a Saturday and it was great. I ordered a vanilla cortado and their cinnamon roll. The cortado was well-made, a good size for a good price. I don't normally go for pastries, but this might've been the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. It was huge and the icing was delicious. The place was busy, but most people were working on their laptops, so it was quiet and conducive to studying. The music in the background was not too loud. There were a ton of outlets and I had no issues using the wifi. There was free parking on Fletcher St. I would absolutely come back here to study or to hang out with friends!

I love this place! I must have been here 100 times in the last year. The coffee is extremely consistent no matter who makes it, and it's the best I've had in Chicago. Their wifi can be spotty at times, but the coffee is worth working through it. Everyone who works here is so nice and easy to talk to. Their baked goods are delicious as well :-)

Excellent Coffee and Tea. . Spacious seating. Outdoor patio. Fresh made muffins, biscuits and biscotti. Best Breakfast treats to grab on the go. Excellent wifi. Staff is always courteous and helpful.

Emma Leeds18.10.2026

Definitely one of my favorite cafes in Lakeview for many reasons! As someone who mostly works from home and likes to get out of the house, I really appreciate that I can always rely on Pedestrian to have ample comfortable seating, plenty of outlets, and good wifi, more so than any other cafe in Lakeview. The warm lighting/modern aesthetic + the smell of fresh baked goods every day make such a nice relaxing ambiance. The bacon cheddar chive biscuit is sooo delicious and you can get it half off the day after it was baked (all the baked goods are baked fresh every morning I believe)! The baristas are always so nice and of course the coffee is great.

Sean Lee18.10.2026

Excellent coffeeshop. Kind, attentive and quick staff. Their baristas actually work there long-term, so I wouldn't be surprised if they are treated pretty well. They are always friendly but also respectful that not everyone wants to engage in long small talk for extra tips.

Beans are great - lighter roasts mainly but well-rounded for those who enjoy med roasts. Very reasonably priced beans. Pourovers are quite consistent regardless who's doing the shift.

Seats fill up quickly but it's never loud. Usually student/working crowd. Perfect for lowkey chats and they have a window service even in winter for people walking their dogs.

Taste, atmosphere, and pricing all very reasonable and appealing to most. Even their music selection is quite good.

Please don't ever leave us

Cute coffeehouse with plenty of work space with plugs. Great service and good beverages. The music is a bit loud for meetings, but the ambiance is nice. The wifi can be spotty too, so be prepared for that. Conveniently located right on the Red Line at Belmont.

Bill18.10.2026

Great coffee and espresso-based drinks, along with a decent selection of single-origin beans. There’s plenty of seating inside with space for laptop work or just hanging out.

Andria Sierra Lamberton18.10.2026

Great, spacious cafe with strong wifi and tons of plants. Elote latte - unusual, sweet and savory. Amazing! Great latte and food choices - I wish I lived here.

Aviel Rodriguez18.10.2026

This spot (literally right next to the Belmont L Stop) has the following:

📚 Cool spot to get some work done (lots of space, ports, etc.)
🗣️ Cool ambiance (just the right amount of chatter)
📶 Has decent wifi (about 60 Mbps download, 14 Mbps upload speeds)

If you're not sure what to order and feel adventurous, go for the Charlatte☕. Think: coconut with a slight kick at the end.

For (free) parking (until 6pm), I'd suggest finding a spot on Fletcher.
