Apparently they don’t have wifi so avoid if you need to be online. The reputation for being welcoming is misplaced

I've driven by Percolate for years but never tried coz it's located along a stretch of shop houses I hardly visit.

Today, I made a special effort to visit and try their coffee.

I was pleasantly surprised by the cafe interior - cosy, with light wood paneling & warm lighting. There's space on the communal long table where you can work on your laptop while sipping your brew.

Ambience wise, I have to say this beats many other cafes and it's located along a stretch of shop houses in a HDB neighbourhood. Very impressive!

Coffee latte prices are pretty standard... $5 for a 5 oz or $5.50 for 7 oz. They have 2 types of beans, one chocolatey, one fruity. I ordered one of each... Both were alright. I found it pleasant, although a tad bland and forgettable.

I ordered the Brazilian beans for my latte and it was smooth although the aroma was weak. The Santa Maria beans were more fruity and my friend liked his cappuccino, although flavours could be more robust.

I won't mind swinging by Percolate again if I'm in the vicinity. I enjoy the laid back cosy vibes and the coffee is decent although not too memorable. 😂

It was easy to find. Cozy place but has good range of food and drink. Price was really reasonable. Not sure if they have wifi but the table is big enough to use my laptop. Wanna visit again to try their cup cakes. It is near bedok library

Carrot walnut cake was not bad, seems like they have good proper ingredients - satisfied. But I think I paid $7 for this though. Will come back to try their other food and coffee next time and see how it is.
