This is the closest coffee shop to my house and is a go-to spot for getting some work done or meeting with friends in the area. Northgate is sadly lacking in cafe and restaurant options. This stretch of Aurora is somewhat bleak and limited. Pilgrim is a nice spot for grabbing a hot drink and working or studying. They have some sweet and savory food items which is nice to have. It's open pretty late compared to other coffee spots.
For better or for worse, it's a popular spot for work-from-home people or students and >50% of the tables will be people with laptops.
The tea options are okay, the matcha drink was okay, the pastries are okay, the sandwich I had was okay. My friend said the coffee is okay. Nothing blows me out of the water. I like coming here because it is convenient and reliable.
I do wish there was more comfortable seating since all the chairs are those trendy metal industrial ones or wooden booth seating. Maybe some cushions?
Either way, I hope Pilgrim gives other businesses the confidence to open in this area. We need more places like this in these parts.

Love this place! A great cafe to work in, and the oat milk matcha latte and gingerdoodle are amazing.
A super cozy and wonderful little coffeehouse to get some work done. The barista today was so friendly and sweet. Drink with oat milk was delicious, and their pastries and food menu looked good but didn't strike today as I had a planned dinner soon after. Definitely recommend :)
