Stella's Coffee Haus

I have loved coming here the past few years to study, as it is super close to DU. However, they recently changed their wifi policy so that you have to pay $5 for every three hours of wifi. I am really disappointed in this because with their long hours and close proximity, this was a great place for college students to study. But college students are broke and i am unwilling to spend more than the one drink i usually get here. I will likely not be coming back to find somewhere else that still means it when they say free wifi.

Mediocre overpriced coffee and very unfriendly and unhelpful service.

I visited this place for the first time today with my pup and couldn’t find anyone to talk to outside. I didn’t want to bring my dog inside as the food industry rules don’t allow that but literally no one came out to help. I propped the door open a bit to see if I could speak to someone but an employee glanced over at me and kept working. I called out “Excuse me. How do I get a table? How does this work?” The employee looked at me and said “You order in here and sit out there” and continued working (the employee was clearly not in the mood to help). I wasn’t sure how I was supposed to order inside with my dog so I found a table and waited for my friend to help me order. Overall not a pleasant experience.

Coffee and service is great; wifi is completely non-functional which makes for a workday there pretty difficult.

I'm not sure I've ever managed to get on the wifi here - maybe there's a secret password only given to college students. Cool place otherwise!

I have respect for shops that are explicitly hostile to digital nomads - we offer a rather questionable value proposition, particularly for popular spots like this. But when a place repeatedly fails to set appropriate expectations, and sells you expensive coffee so you can futz around with their non-functional network for several hours, that is problematic.

Great place to work from. Drinks are good and there’s a lot of space to work, inside and outdoors.

This is one of my favorite places to go to to work remote. This being said, whoever runs this place knows this and restricts the wifi to one code per item and the coffee is pretty bad and expensive. I don’t understand how a medium iced latte with oat milk would come to $8 with a prepackaged pastry being an additional $7. I think whoever is in charge should rethink their approach to better serve their customers.

Bad wifi - Would rate Stella's 5 stars if the wifi didn't block my university's website, making it impossible to work here. Great coffee, pastries and environment.

Stella's is great if you are a student or for general coffee shop purposes. The size and layout is excellent and the coffee is pretty good. The pastries are great. However, if you use coffee shops for work and specifically if you use a VPN connection, BEWARE! The wifi can be hit or miss in general according to other patrons. For me the wifi strength is consistently strong, but it appears that either their wifi administrator or something else upstream blocks DNS requests (my team and I have doesn't extensive troubleshooting and it's definitely their wifi setup). Maybe test it out on your system before heading over there for actual time-sensitive work!

They charge for wifi? Coffee is good but so is the coffee at a lot of other places with wifi.

I love the area and the drinks are great! Please, please, please just fix your wifi. There are websites that are blocked for no reason and is very slow to load anything despite it being after peak hours. I've been having to go to different cafes because they have better wifi.

Great place to study or work from home! So much seating, outlets, light music, and great coffee and baked goods.

Great cozy place to read or work. Separate areas if you want to talk or have a quiet place to work. Can get busy on the weekends, but pretty accessible during the week days.

It's a great coffee shop. It's a good place to work remotely on occasion too.

Honestly, this place is amazing. I’d consider it my second home at times.

While the coffee is excellent, to me, I find the people that work there far more impressive. The ambience is wonderful. There is plenty of space and has wonderful amenities (one caveat is that wifi is good, but not always great).

However, this place means more than that to me. As COVID rages on, sometimes the only thing that brightens up my day is going here and interacting here. All the people that work here have been nothing but friendly and good.

This place isn’t just a coffee shop. To me, it’s so much more. I’ve made friends here, met dates here, and of course drank coffee here.

To me, that’s what makes a good coffee shop. Good coffee is nice to have, but more importantly, the wonderful sense of community here is what I find special. Stella’s has always done a great job creating a open, comfortable, and friendly place to relax, unwind, and just enjoy life.

So, thank you. I will honestly never forget the summer I went to the coffee shop every day...

New favorite place to work

A great place to sit and work and sip on your cafe beverage of choice!

A large cafe with great coffee. Mostly I find this place full with struggling to find a place to sit. Cozy place to work on your laptop. They also have books (for you to take), board games to play and the best part is that it stays open till 10pm. Definitely, one of my fav places.

This is no longer the coffee it used to be. It looks like an office. Definitely not a place to enjoy a coffee and a conversation. People are on Zoom, and on their laptops, there is even a printer. It is a remote coffee/ office.
