The coffee shop of my dreams. Everything about Sweetleaf brings joy. The interior is so cozy, with an eclectic blend of seating options and tables. Plenty of fun decorations and kitschy touches of whimsy.
The people working there are kind and friendly, and provide excellent service. There seems to be a natural correlation with the customers who are equally kind and relaxed. Also, very solid music to solidify the overall good vibes. This isn’t the type of coffee shop that gets swept up in hype or pretension.
As for the goods, the espresso is delicious. I just ordered an iced americano. I’m excited to come back to try food at some point.
Great place to hang out or get some work done. Spacious and plenty of seating. Free wifi and has a bathroom too. A neighborhood stable.
The coffee is good and the venue is super cozy and with a lot of personality.
This is one of the only few places in NY where you could actually sit with your coffee and enjoy a moment reading a book and enjoying your coffee without feeling certain pressure to leave.
Also, I saw a few people working there so I imagine it’s also working friendly which nowadays is even weirder to find.
The staff is friendly.
I had the maple leaf latte which was amazing! Very smooth, just the right amount of sweetness. The atmosphere and vibe was very cool and laid back. I could see myself sitting and chatting with someone or working on my computer. I had a friend who had an iced latte he loved it. The employees were very friendly and welcoming. I would recommend it if you're looking for good coffee.
Excellent coffee at a very fair price. Service was very fast and friendly. Decor is tasteful, trendy, and unique.
Seems to have a lot of regulars working, reading, and socializing over coffee and breakfast sandwiches.
This is a fantastic spot, a must visit for locals. It’s about 5 short blocks from the Greenpoint station if your coming via train.
This is my favorite coffee shop in greenpoint. The vibe, music, and selection of seating options is great for chatting, working, eating, thinking, whatever. The people that work here (Christian and Mike) make this spot feel so neighborhoody.
Can't talk much about the food since I mainly have coffee here but I love it!
The staff is really friendly and was helpful when I needed a recommendation.
They have free wifi, outlets, and a bathroom. The music and atmosphere are vibey and it's generally quiet (at least the day I went). This made it a pretty good place for me to study in.
edit:
Friend and I came in and tried some new stuff
I had the BEC on a bagel and my friend had a wrap, both were pretty good. I will say however, that paying $10 for a bec seemed crazy at the beginning, but it was an appropriate portion size and it was delicious. Their Matcha is not as smooth as I would've liked it to be which made it not so enjoyable to drink. But their vanilla latte was delicious and my friend thoroughly enjoyed her maple latte. I continue to see myself studying here in the future.
Music and ambiance are still a 5/5 to me, so many songs were added to my playlist in my time here haha.
Coffee: Good quality coffee.
Environmental friendliness: lots of plastic waste, would like to see more. Didn’t see anything organic or fair trade.
Ambiance: Great ambiance. Cozy, with couches and tasteful decor. Free wifi.
Staff: Friendly and helpful staff.
Value: On the pricey side.
Nice place to hang out, or get some work done on your laptop. Their breakfast Avocado toast with tomatoes, onions and feta is amazing!
A neighborhood gem with a fantastic team and top-notch coffee. It’s my go-to spot, whether I’m grabbing a quick cup or settling in with my laptop to get some work done. Feels like the Cheers of coffee shops—warm, welcoming, and always a pleasure to visit.
Perfect coffee shop. Everyone working there is so incredibly nice. Cold brew, drip, and espresso are all great. And their drinks are super consistent. Open pretty early too compared to other shops in the area.
Love coming here when I’m in town! Very calm and quiet, great wifi and staff and food.
Went based on recommendation in the New York City Cafe Passport. Lovely cups of coffee. We got an americano, pumpkin latte, maple latte, and their rocket fuel hot coffee. They were bold, full body, and tasty. They roast on premise, homemade syrups, and decaf options. Definitely worth checking out and/or going out of your way to visit. Tons of seating for chatting with your friends, reading, or working.
I appreciate the laptop-friendly atmosphere here, which is why we keep returning. However, I often get the sense that the staff treats me like they're doing me a favor when serving coffee.
I can go to Starbucks to be served fast and willingly, I know, but what is the problem to chat with the friend after you took and made the order? That would be lovely
100% best coffee around. Great vibe. Good sounds. Funky seats. Ignore comments about "music too loud, stopping customers from working" - it's a coffee place not an office FGS!
Nice people good coffee and pastries. Excellent wifi
Coffee and oats are quite good, but I came to sit and work on my laptop because this was rated one of the best places to do so. Either you're sitting on a high chair with a low table, or a low chair with a crooked table. Otherwise it's some nice couches but with nowhere to set up shop. Disappointing setup.
Great place to do some work, outlets but no wifi :(
I love this coffee shop! The vibe is great for both working and meeting friends. I also recommend getting their smoked salmon toast - it’s one of the reasons I keep coming back 🤤
The coffee is great and pastries are delicious. It also has a really nice and spacious seating area - great for working on your laptop or reading.
It’s perfect. An old school wooded indie rock coffee shop. People writing, working, reading galore. I wish we had more holdout coffee houses like this in Brooklyn.
Great spot if I can make a recommendation it would be to add outlets for charging laptop and or phones to work efficiently
The best coffee i have ever had - plus very fast wifi and cozy working space.
wifi is fast and solid!
Very slow wifi
