Chill cafe to eat and read. Food served on the pricer side ($16++ onwards). Still a cozy place to work too.
Great cafe to work in or simply chill. Excellent quality of food and beverage. Staff are helpful and responsive.
Never been to a cafe where we can’t use laptop unless it’s at a designated seat😅😅 tbh what’s the point of setting up a cafe then?
Staff was rude as well. Coffee super overpriced
Great place to have ur lunch and work settled at the same time
Once you come in, they will ask you to come here for dining only or for working purpose as well
There are different areas for dining only and working with dining
Lots of power plugs as well
Awesome place to just have tea and work on stuff or study. Quiet ambience and super nice banana bread :)
Good cafe for work. The staff are attentive, they refill the water often. Drinks are nice and reasonable.
Quiet little cafe where you can do your work or read a book.
A cozy and warm cafe for your afternoon tea and work / study fix. I attended a 1 hour online meeting at the outdoor seating, and apart from occasional engine sounds from large vehicles driving by, the environment was mostly quiet and conducive for work. Had their Lemongrass with Butterfly Pea and it was quite tasty. Will be back if I need a change in environment in my COVID work arrangements.
Enjoyed an afternoon here getting work done + read. Decent food/coffee as well.
Lovely place to study or work, great food and nice coffee
Awesome place and Awesome Food! KEEP UP THE GOOD work!
I had a really bad experience recently cafe-hopping elsewhere in the island and I realized that a really good cafe like this is very rare and underappreciated, and I've never really thought to write a review until today when I decided to post my first review regarding an extremely bad experience elsewhere, so I thought I might as well give The Book Cafe a five-star while I'm at it~
Nowadays, especially recently, many cafes are quick to really chase people away and time them for how long they have been staying as if they're treating customers as part-time workers going on a washroom break. The horror on the staff's face as you bring out your laptop as if you're whipping out a gun from your bag while frantically telling you that "it is strictly forbidden to use a laptop in their premise" is extremely hilarious and exaggerated. God forbid if you even attempt to use their power plugs that they have on display.
Fortunately, and as of right now, very gratefully, Book Cafe decided that they will have none of that nonsense, extremely pleasant environment, power plugs that can be used everywhere and conveniently placed, water cups that are being attentively refilled whenever it gets near emptied, staffs were really nice and welcoming, they even try to make small talk with you here and there occasionally, food is extremely great and of high quality, small little requests were being handled with care and "I will get it done for you" attitude. Frankly speaking, there's nothing more to really expect from a cafe where you can just sit down for the day to chill and get some work done in a comfortable environment.
The only downside is the price and inaccessibility of the location, the nearest bus stop/train station is at least almost a 15 minutes walk away from under the scorching sun, but you can't really fault the cafe for it, and as for the price, I mean, you get what you pay for, and in this case, it's very well deserved, I'd definitely recommend this place to my friends and frequently here more as well, even more frequently if it wasn't that unfortunately inaccessible (For those staying nearby, you're definitely in luck) but it's definitely worth the trip!
I'm sorry to the staffs who are reading this review and had a mini-heart attack at the first few words of this review, I promise it wasn't intentional. Thank you!
Really nice and comfortable place to relax or do some work on the laptop. Coffee was not bad, would recommend for people who want a cosy and quiet place to have a cup of coffee and work.
Very friendly staff, great ambiance...one of the few places where they don’t kick out people with laptop. Food and drinks are good too, I will start visiting more!!!
Cozy hidden gem cafe. It's a best spot to spend your "me" time or do work on your laptop. But if you looking for food or coffee. I suppose you can get any better near by.
so cosy, so snug, free wifi, ample power plug points, good food and excellent tea! loved the service by angel
The cafe has a cosy atmostphere. Plug
Points and wifi was also available. A condusive environment to read, work and study, highly reccomended!
The egg benedict was good too! Will come back again!
I like it that there is option for outdoor seating and they provided extension for sockets so you can charge your laptop easily, work and enjoy the coffee.
The Book Cafe is an extremely cosy place to hang out/ de-stress/ day dream over a nice cuppa coffee or tea. The music here is fantastic and the vibes are chillaxing. I had the all day breakfast and I really enjoyed it. It's hard to find places that serves the classic (as in C-L-A-S-S-I-C) preparation of eggs, toast, sausages and cherry tomatoes. There's too much fusion going on these days (at other brekkie cafes) and it's honestly nice to experience a simple, classic and delicious breakfast without the mumbo jumbo. Free wifi here and plug points are everywhere for laptop enthusiasts. Books are placed on the shelf and there's a huge range of books. The service here is superbly fantastic and I'll definitely come back here again. Two thumbs up to this gem. I'm glad I stumbled upon you.
Good ambience to have your brunch there and work on your laptop. I love outdoor sitting.
More than half of the tables are reserved. When reading on the laptop they only allow for very poor places to sit that were not comfortable at all. This is despite my dining time being short. Ordering app was difficult to navigate as well.
Wonderful service, allowed me to sit while waiting for plugged seats. Water is refilled every now and then. wifi is fabulous.
Eggs Benedict are underrated, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the drinks are amazing. Only downside is slow wifi.
Extreme attentive service staff and a cafe that allows you to use laptop for work. Power supply available upon request. I highly recommend their homemade style gelato on a hot sunny day!
The wifi kept disconnecting and the coffee cost me 7€….
People read actual books here as they sip their coffee. Smartphones and laptops abound as well, but being surrounded by books makes a difference. Food was enjoyable. I’d come all ready for poached eggs of some sort, but was seduced by a particularly thick and oozy grilled cheese sandwich. Bonus points for the tiger face on my matcha latte, in honor of Chinese New Year.
Pretty extensive menu. Good food and service. Very fast wifi!
Had a really great time working here the other day, with exceptional service from the staff overall. Great place with lots of power points as well as free wifi. Would be great if the team could incorporate payment services when ordering via the QR code though.
