Prefect place with your friends or to work
Come down to do a little work on a beautiful afternoon. The roll up window was open, music played at the perfect volume, plenty of folks enjoying the inside and outside seating, drinks were made well and served by a super friendly staff. Their coffee, wine, beer, and other drink options means there’s something for everyone. I didn’t have a pastry but they looked great.
Solid lattes and so many tables to sit at and work
This is a forewarning for anyone looking to study or work on the weekends. This is also not a review of the staff, the beverages, or the ambiance, but I felt like this was an important message. I went to prepare for the work week on Sunday afternoon and found the tables riddled with small "No laptop" signs on the tables. At the time, my initial thinking was that the establishment did not want computers on the furniture (because the alternative, banning them completely, seemed absured given that I regularly worked at The Hobbyist this summer. Shortly after getting my tea did one of the employees let me know about their new "unplug policy" on the weekends to give patrons a chance to connect with one another in person (although, when I looked around, the policy didn't seem to be efficacious). On the weekends, I sometimes need to get out of the house and complete work in a neutral space with other people who are similar in that regard, but I feel that this recent policy overplays its hand and falls short of the intended goals. Restricting patron's autonomy and choice in the entire space detracts from the neutrality of what I feel a coffee shop represents.
Fantastic 3rd place for anyone, especially students and those working.
Amazing atmosphere, awesome spot to work, have a date, read, or hang with friends. Incredible beer, wine and coffee selection.
Stopped by on my way to an appointment up the street and ordered two simple lattes, one vanilla and one caramel. There seemed to be two people ahead of me but it took the baristas 12 minutes to make my drinks. There were two people working and they kept talking in between each drink and continued without a care in the world.
Instead of finishing the drinks they kept attending people at the register. Finally, and very unfortunately, I had to ask if my drinks were ready and the barista replied with some attitude.
Now, if you have time, and want to sit down to work, I think this place would be great for you.
The vibe is cool but I’ve definitely received timely(er) service in other independent coffee shops.
Love this coffee and wine bar!! They sell selective bottled wine and beers. A cafe to work/study while sipping your desired coffee or wine. As I entered this place it smells coffee which melts my heart.
Excellent specialty coffee. Great for working remote.
Amazing atmosphere, clean and nice bathrooms, great public wifi. Love their caffeinated and wine/beer menus alike. I always go by for their sour fridge area to try new local brews. I like how there is 4 areas for seating/working. Near the back entrance, bar seating with TVs, near the front entrance, and outside on the patio. Lastly it's great location for anyone coming off the Greenway / parkway just south
I love getting coffee and working from here
Was recommended this as a place for good beer while I do some work on my computer. Got there to signs saying no laptops, so that’s a no go, I guess? Judging from some other reviews I just read, this seems to be a common complaint. Bad policy imo.
I stopped in here this morning and ordered a creme brulee latte with a raspberry cream cheese danish. Before we get into the coffee and danish, let me say that I was really digging the design and vibe of this place. They managed to accomplish a more classy and intimate setting, but at the same time it was also laid back and easy going. I found this to be a unique combination of atmospheres for a coffee shop. Although, they do have wine and a good whiskey selection so that may be why there is an overlap in the settings that I was experiencing. I also appreciated the no laptops on the weekends concept that they have implemented. Even though I didn't find myself chatting with any locals, which is what they stated the goal of this concept is, I think it's a great idea! I find that we too often bury ourselves into technology and forget to experience the things around us. It's a step in the right direction, and a good way to increase the interactions among others. Now, back to the coffee and danish. The creme brulee latte was spot on and the danish was exactly what I needed to get my morning started. I liked the location of this place, and I definitely see The Hobbyist being one of my go to coffee shops!
Very quaint and the barista was friendly as could be. About half the crowd on a workday had laptops, like myself. I ordered a decaf coffee and am 98% sure it was not decaf, but still really enjoyed my experience and would go back
Coffee is a bit expensive but deff worth the price. Not to mention, the atmosphere is phenomenal. Great place to read or work on your laptop. Totally recommend!
No wifi Friday-Sunday, their policy. No indication of this policy, yet the wifi guest password is displayed. Place is great, I just like policies that affect the guest experience upfront and with consistency. Make the password flyer double-sided. So when Friday-Sunday comes around you can flip it over to say “weekend event-no internet. Enjoy.”
