Nice little place. Great coffee. Upstairs and downstairs seating. Comfortable furniture. Clean restrooms. Fast internet. Seems popular. Good vibe. Good for a quick chat or to work on your laptop for an hour.
Ambiance: Aesthetically pleasing coffee shop with upstairs & downstairs seating tucked away in a small boutique shopping area off Sawdust. Open & airy - lots of industrial pieces combined with plants & art. There is also patio seating outside that is kid/dog friendly. Great spot for studying, working on your laptop, or meeting a friend for a morning coffee.
I love their frozen cold brew and my friend highly recommends the London Fog tea! Assortment of croissants and small bites available to purchase. Decent pricing for cafes in the area. Parking onsite & quick service. Highly recommend this quaint shop!
A great place to enjoy a cup of coffee and get work done, if you like the noise of a coffee shop. There’s a good amount of indoor, second floor, and outside seating; it does get a bit loud, but that wasn’t a problem for me at least. They have wifi and some areas to plug in, and I especially like that they had high tables so you could stand and do work. It’s a great go to spot for coffee and a place to hangout or do work. The coffee is good too, they have a list of specials and all the classics.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My partner and I were stopping by from out of town, as I love local coffee shops! The coffee tastes burnt even with added flavors the burnt taste of the coffee is very prominent. My partner got an iced matcha, consider it matcha flavored milk. It was a pale green and tasted as if the matcha was whispered into the milk. Coffee aside the atmosphere was very cozy and actually enjoyable to lounge in. The service was mediocre, when my partner and I went to grab our drinks the baristas were having a conversation, they gave us a side eye when we had asked for clarification if the drinks were ours, as if we were interrupting them. There was no welcoming “hello” as soon as you walk in the door or “have a good day”. The baristas did not seem like they enjoyed working their jobs. Maybe management should review their employees customers service. I wanted to enjoy this place considering the good reviews, but I’m unfortunate to say I did not enjoy my visit to Third Gen.
Nice atmosphere, plenty of space to sit down and use your laptop or read a book, a little too cold for my preference.
Excellent little coffee shop, good brew, nice wifi, good for meetings. They have a very relaxing atmosphere and good customer service. Will go back when in the area!
This is an amazing coffee spot with great seating on the inside and outside, they have very comfortable couches and an absolutely delicious chocolate croissant that’s unique because I have never seen one like that being served anywhere else in the City. I would recommend this place for a nice casual hangout or a place to open up your laptop and catch up on some work or even a place to be in and out with your coffee. This place definitely has my endorsement.
I come here weekly and it never disappoints. Prices are reasonable, coffee is great, atmosphere is superb, and the staff is pretty awesome. I’m active military and was in uniform once when I came in and they gave me a discount. Ever since then, the male that works here always has whoever is working the register apply the discount because he knows that I otherwise won’t ask for it. It’s an extremely nice gesture. Also, they do a great job in promoting other small businesses in the area. Overall, this place is amazing.
I keep trying this place because so many people rave about it but I just don’t like the coffee at all. It has a bitter taste to it that makes it unenjoyable. I’m sorry. Still a nice locally owned cafe with seating and wifi to work/study.
Great drinks and service but unfortunately they throttle the majority of websites on their wifi. I wasn't able to work on my projects from this coffee shop. I work from home and I like to go to coffee shops for a change of pace.
It's 2025, give the people wifi man. Also it was pretty difficult to get a spot to sit, it was pretty packed. Might change my review if they unblock their wifi to allow me to visit my work websites.
love that they have free wifi and comfy couches on the second floor
What's not to like about a clean modern coffee place? I don't think there's much I can say after reading the other reviews.
I used to come more often when I used to work on this side of town, but since I've been working from home the last few years, I have not been going as much and I recently remembered how much I liked this place after an event I went to here.
Definitely going to be coming in soon more and more. I think the cold coffee's are delicious.
Wow, what a cool little cafe. Great look, spacious, and various seating for individuals or parties. I ordered an Americano and took up some bar seating while working on my laptop for 90 minutes. The coffee was tasty and the service was friendly and quick. I always feel a little guilty spending $4 and taking up space for that long, but I assume it’s appropriate etiquette for most places. Plus, it wasn't too crowded yet. I suppose I could throw in a tip or order food to make myself feel better. They should definitely install meters at each seating area. I'd feed it quarters all day. I’ll definitely be back… maybe I will try the upstairs next time
I popped in here to get some work done and it was a great office for me. There's tons of room and great wifi. The matcha latte was very good, not too sweet. The menu was intriguing, the pastry case looked good, and they seem to have seasonal specials. If I ever find myself back in the area, there's a good chance I end up at Third Gen Coffee!
I spent a word day here (I design website) and it was very nice. Staff was great, environment great, scenery great, coffee great...everything great. I look forward to working here more often.
Really good coffee. Great spot to crack open the laptop and work. Pleasant ambiance. A few more selections on the food side would make me never leave
I've only tried the espresso. But from trying both of their blends, the Honduran was silky smooth and bright. Definitely one of the better espressos I've had. The service is nice, the space is chill, wifi is fast enough. There are plenty of outlets and a couple larger tables between two levels. The atmosphere just fits. I haven't found a reason to deduct a star yet. I did order two espressos for myself and they looked at me funny, but other than that 5 stars!
Great place for artisan coffee. Three different coffee choices if you go with Cheney - Honduran, Ethiopian, & blend of the two when I stopped in. Many professionals and students were working/studying here, two floors and nice sized tables. Will be back!
This a great family owned business that’s is way better than the Starbucks right next to it. The Custer service is top tier, they have free Wi-Fi, outlets to plug in your laptop. The only negative thing I have to say is that the store itself is somewhat small so if it gets extremely busy you might have to fight for a chair
Great place to come for coffee dates with friends, which I do at least once a week. The baristas are all friendly and helpful in new recommendations, and I love the comfy space upstairs for intimate conversations or working with minimal distraction.
Great to have a local coffee shop in The Woodlands! Coffee is very good and local. The atmosphere inside is great for working and socializing. The upstairs loft area is definitely an added bonus. Staff is also very friendly!
This is a new favorite place. The Golden Spice Latte is AMAZING! The service is prompt and friendly. There's a loft with comfortable seating, a perfect place to spend an afternoon working in peace, or meeting with friends to relax.
Love Third Gen's awesome coffee, their knowledgeable & hospitable staff (Heather always recommends me the tastiest drinks since I trying to lower my coffee consumption ❤), and the atmosphere/vibe is lowkey and conducive to studying, working, and socializing. So happy to have an independent coffee house in our area!!! ☕🍵🥤
Love Third Gen! They have the best spots for sitting and visiting with friends, or studying/working alone. I really enjoy their lattes as well as the holiday drink from this past fall. It has such a laid back atmosphere. I always bring my family here!
Wow, great cold brew! I stopped by to get some work done at 10:00AM. The music was the perfect volume for working. Nice background level without being too loud. The three baristas were outgoing and helpful.
This place is great! Really good coffee & espresso, reasonably priced, nice atmosphere, comfy seating, and free wifi. And the owner and staff are fantastic! Highly recommend.
This place is great. Sometimes it can be a bit too loud for a meeting or Co-working but the coffee and service never disappoints.
The coffee is decent. The people are really nice and friendly. Cute coffee shop that’s good for working and a first date.
Fabulous staff worked with us to get large order of coffee (etc) for utility workers working in the freeze on broken water line! Awesome location!!!! Thanks so much to the employees working today!!
Fantastic service and ambience. Coffee is tasty, but food is really below average unfortunately.
wifi available and good.
Excellent Capuccino w/almond milk
Is not easy to make this coffee without sugar and get to the right flavor
work permit/wifi/pet friendly
Great atmosphere, great drinks, great baristas. Good for meeting a friend and for working on your laptop
Delicious, great wifi and places to plug in.
Pretty cool. Free wifi is a plus. I come here to study.
wifi, great prices and super yummy. Nice accommodations.
Great coffee, good wifi, decent seating.
Nice coffee house, wifi, table and counter seating.
Genuinely, some of the best tasting coffee out there. I am a big sucker for trying new things but there is nothing more intimidating than all the coffee customizations when ordering. I went down to the counter a couple of times and literally Tatianna is literally a beaming light (lady in the google review images!). She was so sweet and suggested so many things and helped guide me through it all.
As for the coffee, I enjoy a more coffee-forward drink rather than milky-sweet lattes. And boy does this place do it right. Their espresso with the hints of chocolate is actually divine. No wonder their line is always so long. I got an iced flat white with 1/2 pump of brown sugar. Also, a lot cheaper than most shops I go to!
As for the area itself, they have such an array of seating options. I am a college student who has been hopping around coffee shops in The Woodlands to find the perfect one. I love ones that have a genuine bustle and a mix of people--I love people watching when I study as it makes me feel less alone haha. So far, this crowd has exceeded every other coffee shop I've been to so far in terms of the crowd. It's a steady flow of people so it doesn't feel dead. It's mostly young adults all working and is exactly the vibe I was looking for.
