Good place to spend hours working while getting a meal or coffee!
Good place to take coffee and work. They serve filter coffee as well
BEAUTIFUL cafe with nice natural light, 5 min walk from the MRT. Has wifi and charging sockets. Great for working/studying
I was at the outlet this morning , 26 April 2024 from 9.45am to. 1.45pm. Ordered Bacon & Avo Garlic Bagel with a side of smoked salmon and tater tots and iced matcha lemonade. When i came in , i sat at a table where two men were sitting too.
I do not know them at all. I just wanted a table to do my work. After a while , i shifted to another table behind which had power plugs. At 1.45pm , i made payment and the male cashier had the audacity to ask me whether will i pay for the two gentlemen as they left without paying. I told him i came in alone and i do not know them at all. He gave me a confused look but eventually , i paid for what i ordered.
Please check before assuming and it is not my fault that they didnt pay as i do not know them. I wont go back there again.
On a Monday morning, in my attempt to find a relaxed cafe where I could work, I came across Wakey Wakey. And I am so glad that I did.
This cafe is airy, filled with a lot of natural light thanks to its floor to ceiling glass windows, and with a variety of seating options. I chose to sit at the communal table by the window overlooking Beach Road. They have an interesting menu with dishes ranging from brunch to light bites to grain bowls. I ordered the "Wake Your Mother Cheese Toastie" and "Sangria Fruit" caffeine-free hot tea. The Toastie was delicious with cheese, caramelised onions and mustard making it sweet and sour at the same time. Had I known it was a hot tea (doesn't say so on the menu nor did I clarify) I would have opted for something else on a hot morning, but it was nice regardless.
You can see a lot of people typing away on their computers, so this place is definitely work friendly. The only thing that I noticed that may cause an issue is the lack of power outlets - so the minute you are out of charge on your computer, it's time to leave! :)
The prices here are pretty standard in comparison to other cafes in the area - the Toastie close to $16 and the Tea close to $9. I would definitely come back with friends to enjoy brunch here. I recommend!
We were told upon arrival that indoor seats were reserved and we would be moved inside when these seats freed up. Despite seeing A LOT of empty "reserved" tables and witnessing so many groups leaving, we were never moved. We suspect the "reservations" were an excuse to avoid seating our smaller group of three. Along with the hostile and unreceptive responses of the staff when feedback was made, the empty promise left us more than disappointed.
Response: To imply that we had "berated" and "verbally intimidated" your staff that day is a severe stretch. We had simply provided our feedback on the issue and asked that the cafe work on better managing its crowds, to which we were met with annoyed and displeased faces. The shorter guy staff working on that day even responded by muttering a curse word, which we already let slip. So no, I do not think that your claim of us intimidating the staff is fair in any way.
Our intent was to offer constructive criticism, but the reaction we received nothing short of unprofessional and disrespectful. We hope your team can learn to handle feedback more appropriately in the future.
Hidden gem with great coffee, friendly service team and cosy space. Visited the cafe twice in a week to introduce it to my friends. We had a great time catching up over coffee and delicious food.
Saw a few people working on their laptops. I look forward to hanging out in the cafe when I’m working from home too!
