We had lunch for two on a weekday. Luckily, we had reserved in advance, because it was very busy around 12:00, which is a good sign.
We were politely shown to our reserved table; it turned out to be a really tiny little table. Very cute, but absolutely impractical. I think there was just enough room for drinks, and the table was already full. For lunch, certainly not convenient.

We ordered their lunch menu for 2 people; we got a bit of everything: a soup, a salad, 2 slices of bread, and some toppings.
The food tasted good, but the quantity was far from enough, so we ordered some extra bread.

First, the food: fine food, taste is okay, but the quantity is disappointing when you look at the price.
With 1 drink per person and a lunch menu, and spending 30+ euros per person, you are almost better off going to an all-you-can-eat concept, and paying just as much for food of comparable quality. In addition, you order their own specialty tea, and then you get tea in a standard tea bag. After checking with the staff multiple times, it was supposed to be the special tea flavor, and they had blended it themselves inside the bag. Clear enough, we'll just have to take their word for it; unfortunately, the taste of the tea tasted like ordinary, normal tea.

Then the service: as mentioned, it was very busy, all tables were occupied, and there were also many customers making use of the 'living room concept'—working outside the door, with a cup of coffee, headset on, laptop on lap, and just getting on with it! A very nice concept, but the staff were mainly busy at work—let's call it coziness—but being accessible to people eating like us wasn't always the case.

Finally, the atmosphere: I think the place is very nicely decorated. The building itself is tall, which made it quite chilly, perhaps also because people were constantly walking in and out, meaning the door was essentially constantly open while it was cold outside, making it difficult to keep or get warm inside. In conclusion, the food is fine, but the price is actually too expensive. I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon. I prefer a location where you get a bit more food for your money.

For digital nomads, this is certainly a great location. Nicely centrally located, great facilities, and a good networking spot to meet other people.

A charming and spacious restaurant on a charming street in Zwolle's city center. Anne and Max already have several locations in the Netherlands and are known for serving excellent lunches. It's also a place where many people study and work on their laptops, so it's a pleasant mix of people. The menu offers a nice selection of tasty and healthy dishes, and there's also a wide selection of drinks. For lunch, I was very hungry and ordered the "dream" croissant and the "Zoedraai" (Sweet Twist). Both were delicious! A delicious fresh croissant filled with scrambled eggs, hot-smoked salmon, and avocado. And then there was the French toast with warm fruit, clotted cream, maple syrup, and blood orange curd—delicious. Sweet but not overpowering, and nicely balanced. When ordering, I was given the option of making it vegan. Afterward, I craved dessert, which I decided on, the carrot cake. Italian-style, without the carrots, but with orange and almonds. A soft cake with a light vanilla layer instead of the heavy cream cheese frosting (which I absolutely love). But nevertheless, a very tasty cake. It's a bit lighter. And gluten-free too. The service is fast and friendly. Great place! Glad I was able to eat here before lockdown.

Great spot for breakfast in Zwolle. I had a breakfast platter with cottage cheese and granola, a croissant, scrambled eggs, and juice. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. A bonus: there are places with power outlets, so you can also work on your laptop in peace.

Breakfast for two is nice and tasty! It is a shame, though, that you can't order it if you are alone. A missed opportunity, because Anne&Max is precisely a place where you can sit comfortably by yourself with a book, laptop, newspaper, and good coffee.

Breakfast was served on a generous platter, and dietary requirements are taken into account. Coffee/tea not included, so all in all, it came to about €20 per person. Quite pricey for breakfast, but then again, we were completely full; we didn't need lunch anymore haha.
Also affordable for children. Play corner and changing facilities available. Clean toilet.
