This could easily be the best specialty coffee café in Gdańsk if it were not for the constant stream of tourists coming in from Mariacka Street. The coffee itself is genuinely impressive and shows that the team understands specialty coffee beyond simply serving fashionable drinks. The beans are carefully selected, the brewing is precise, and the espresso has the clarity, sweetness, and balance I look for as a serious coffee enthusiast. There is clearly a lot of knowledge and attention to detail behind the bar.
Unfortunately, the atmosphere suffers considerably from the location. Because of the café’s proximity to Mariacka Street, it attracts a huge number of tourists throughout the day, many of whom seem to wander in simply because they happen to be passing by. This makes the place feel much busier and less relaxed than a specialty coffee bar of this quality deserves to be.
It is a shame because the coffee deserves a calmer setting where you can actually appreciate what is in the cup. If you manage to visit during a quieter moment, however, I would absolutely recommend it. For the quality of the coffee alone, this is one of the strongest specialty coffee spots in Gdańsk.
We started our day trip to Gdansk with a delicious breakfast / snack from this cafe.
We had a cheese and tomato croissant and also a raspberry rose pastry along with some drinks. The croissant is definitely the best I have ever had!
Cozy atmosphere and welcoming staff.
Highly recommend this cafe!
A beautiful and peaceful cafe, perfect for a relaxing break. The quality of the coffee is excellent, but the highlight was the bakery items: the cinnamon roll was incredibly fresh and soft, and the savory croissant was delicious and well-made. If you are looking for a quiet spot with high-quality treats in Gdańsk, this is the place to be!
The place is very popular and has a good quality food. Unfortunately we got there for breakfast at 10 am and multiple items from the menu were already gone (like sandwichs, yogurt with granola). We got some pastries with coffee and they were great.
A fantastic café in the heart of Gdańsk. The view over Mariacka Street is beautiful, making it a great place to relax with a coffee. What really stood out to me was how laptop-friendly it is - there are plenty of power sockets upstairs, and even outdoor sockets if you want to work outside on a nice day. The staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere is cozy, the coffee is excellent, and it's the kind of place where you can easily spend a few hours without feeling rushed. Whether you're looking for a great coffee, a productive workspace, or just a cozy spot to unwind. I highly recommend Kavarnia Drukarnia.
We thought this place was very overhyped. The coffee was almost sour, and I did not like it. The service was not great. Our waitress told us they didn’t have any breakfast, only drinks. However, we then saw someone else having the yogurt and granola breakfast, so we asked if we could order it too. We could, so they did have breakfast after all? We were very confused.
The yogurt bowl was nice and had plenty of toppings, but we would not come back. In our opinion, there are many better cafés in Gdańsk. The music was also very loud, making it difficult to have a conversation.
The coffee is really good, but the hot chocolate was too sweet and quite thick, which made it a bit hard to drink. The ambience is nice, though seating is limited, especially during the snowy season when the outdoor area isn’t usable. Overall, I enjoyed the coffee.
Very good breakfast with delicious cappuccino and matcha (the pumpkin matcha is highly recommended). The smashed croissant and bagels were both excellent, and the chocolate croissant was very large and tasty. It’s one of the most well-known hipster cafés in Gdańsk, so it can get quite busy, but we still found a seat fairly quickly.
Great coffee, cool space. The granola bowl has a great tasty combination of Greek yogurt, fruits, seeds, coco, jam, granola, bit of honey.
One of the best cafe experiences of my life. 😊 Such a cool decor and environment and the croissant 🥐 was amazing 🤩
The café is a bit overhyped. The coffee is good and the selection of cakes isn’t bad either, but by early afternoon a significant part of the selection is already sold out. The interior design and overall concept are nice, although it feels slightly worn in places. The service, however, was very positive.
My friend found this café while searching for a place to buy coffee, so we decided to check it out. We didn’t end up buying coffee beans, but we enjoyed coffee and dessert there. On the staff’s recommendation, we ordered a cake and a cold brew — both were great. The staff were friendly and explained the menu in detail. The flat white I ordered tasted just like the ones I have in Australia. The café had a lovely atmosphere, and it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in Gdańsk.
I felt this place was a bit overrated.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
The coffee was ordinary, nothing special.
I ordered a bagel with guacamole and egg for breakfast. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any guacamole in it. When I asked the waitress where it was, she suggested it might be under the egg. Well, under the egg was just the hole in the bagel! 😂
A bagel with mayonnaise (or remoulade?), half an egg, and a couple of cucumber slices should either cost much less or offer better value for money.
Discovered by chance before leaving, excellent breakfast. We had a very good vegan latte with macha and spicy pumpkin, a cinnamon roll with caramel or peanuts, a chocolate latte macchiato, and a crème brûlée cheesecake. The place is quite small, so you might have to wait a bit to get seated.
The selection of cakes is amazing, and the coffee is great too. The music creates a really nice atmosphere as well. However, you do have to wait a bit before the waiter notices you.
Very nice location. Good coffee and pastries.
But can be busy. They have a sign on the door too that it can be slow when busy and the shop is not for big groups.
Nice and trendy coffee place situated in the heart of Gdansk.
Vi were there for coffee and cake at 11AM, and we got a nice table upstairs.
The coffee was tasty and the cake delicious. Nice work on both sides of the building.
Friendly staff and clean toilet.
Great coffee shop on Gdansk’s popular amber street! It was the perfect place to have a bite to eat for breakfast. We ordered two lattes, a ham and cheese croissant and a granola yogurt bowl. Price was as expected for a central place but decent value for the portions!
Cafe Drukarnia is a beautiful spot right in the heart of Gdańsk. The coffee is excellent, and the desserts are delicious—perfect for a relaxing break. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. During my last visit on a three-day trip, the girl at the counter wasn’t very welcoming and only asked if I wanted to stay or take away. However, the other team members were polite and made the experience pleasant. Despite that, I highly recommend Cafe Drukarnia for its great location, tasty coffee, and quality desserts.
Lovely breakfast here, great relaxed atmosphere too. The cinnamon roll was incredible! Good coffee- a great way to start a busy day in Gdansk!
Amazing atmosphere on Mariacka street, combined with great specialty coffee, wide selection of drinks (almost all filter options), and friendly staff. Really a nice surprise for such a tourist-heavy spot.
Loved this place. Lovely café. The whole street, actually. It's cozy and charming. As I was walking past this place, i thought, "Ok, I definitely want to enjoy a cup of coffee around here!" At the time when I entered, it was a bit busy; nonetheless the service was quick, and I had my cup on the table fast. Overall I was happy. If I were local, I would probably stop by from time to time to do some of my work along with some espresso. Wonderful spot.
Tasty sweets, very good coffee, friendly staff. All you need to enjoy and watching all the tourists go by is like cinema. You can sit in or outside. Tiramisu cake was super.
Visited many cafe’s in Gdansk while traveling and this is one of my favorites so far! Can’t wait to come back! Yogurt granola bowl and iced latte was fabulous. Thank you!
Great coffee. Had read good reviews about the coffee here and must agree with it. Great variety of cheese cakes and pastries/croissants. I tried the Banoffe Pie which was not that great due to the taste of nuts/coconut in it. But for sure can recommend other pastries which looked tempting!
cozy and comfortable place to stay for breakfast :)
pastrys looks delicious, bagel and croissants are tasty!
Incredible selection of cakes and donuts. It’s a little cramped inside but it has a pleasant vibe.
Cozy cafe in city center Gdansk with friendly staff. It could get busy at times but we were fine and managed to get a table upstairs for coffee and brunch.
After 3 attempts to get in because it was always packed, I finally made it, and it was worth the effort! The lemonade is refreshing, and the strawberry Danish pastry with its thousand layers has a delicious, buttery crust. The second floor offers a refreshing experience with its charming windows, cool breeze, and plenty of adorable plants. The staffs are also friendly and welcoming.
Cool and hip cafe in Gdansk. We went here for a midday snack. I got the raspberry matcha which was good and the pear almond danish which was delicious!
Other items I tried: Orange matcha which wasn’t my cup of tea. Yogurt bowl which was decent. Croissant salami sandwich which was yummy.
Overall the food was good, the drinks were good too, I did think the atmosphere was too loud and not really a comfy place to linger. Also the most expensive place I’ve visited in poland so far so that’s something to consider.
Probably has more popular items so it’s a good place to try those out!
I had a large Americano which was delicious, a savory sandwich croissant which was very tasty and large, and a cinnamon bun that was unfortunately not that tasty. It was a bit dry for my taste, but also living in Sweden, my cinnamon bun standards are quite high :) The atmosphere is very nice, it's lovely to sit outside and watch the street while enjoying your coffee. The staff is friendly and helpful! Overall, would recommend ✨️
We visited Kawiarnia Drukarnia for breakfast and really enjoyed it.
The service was friendly and quick, the coffee was very good, and there’s a wide selection of drinks.
The breakfast menu offers a nice variety, so there’s something for everyone.
Great coffee and pastries, but chaotic and very expensive. Ordering and getting your delivery takes forever. Paying is always a problem since the cashiers doesn’t seem connected and servers don’t know what you have ordered.
Stopped by this coffee shop on our way to a massage. It’s in a nice area with plenty of tourists and a great atmosphere.
We ordered a cappuccino with oat milk and a bottle of water. They accidentally made the cappuccino with whole milk, but luckily I asked before drinking it. They were very apologetic and happy to remake it correctly, which we appreciated.
Unfortunately, we never received the water we ordered. On the positive side, the cappuccino itself was very good once it was remade. Overall, a pleasant stop with good coffee, but the service could have been a bit more attentive.
Cute café right on Mariacka street. The front patio area was perfect place to take in all the sights of Mariacka Street and to people watch.
The drinks were excellent and inexpensive. The pistachio croissant was delicious. Very cool spot.
Amazing vibes. Iced latte was superb... We had two cheesecakes, and believe me, they were delicious.
The girls at the counter were beyond friendly.
Highly recommended!!! ☕ 🍰
I had tried a few specialty coffee places in Gdańsk, and this was the one I was most excited about. Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing considering the price. The coffee was decent, but I expected more from such a popular spot. It was also served in very basic IKEA-style cups and generic takeaway cups, which took away from the overall experience. On the positive side, the cakes looked great, although I didn’t get a chance to try them.
At 20zl, a pistachio croissant is served unheated, and is not well made from the beginning (at least not this batch). The layers do not fully open (not just near the fillings, but the bottom as well), resulting in not quite flaky texture; the butter used is not of high quality (no good butter smell); pistachio filling is okay, but could be made more intense since the rest of the croissant lack flavor/textural treats.
Overall this could be the priciest yet most underwhelming pistachio croissant I’ve tried almost anywhere.
Flat white, on the other hand, is quite not strong (and milky) enough to taste like cappuccino or latte. Not sure if that’s the palate of Gdansk people.
Absolutely not in agreement of the rating, not this visit (my only visit) at least.
I had the best hot coco with marshmallows– rich, fluffy and delicious. My husband and I also shared a cake with a fun Kinder chocolate twist that made it special. :)
What stood out most was the staff – one member chatted with us and made us feel so welcome during our time in Poland. We will always remember him, and just wish I knew how to spell his name so I could remember it even better. We can’t wait to come back on our next visit to Gdańsk. ❤️☕️🍫
The place is wonderful, like something out of a fairy tale. The products are decent, but not outstanding in terms of flavor or quality.
Superb café offering an extensive range of coffee, delicious savouries and sweet breakfast items. The cafe itself is in a glorious setting, with the outside terrace an ideal setting to watch the world go buy. Highly recommend.
A fantastic little café with excellent coffee and an irresistible cake selection. The display alone makes it hard to choose—beautifully crafted cheesecakes, tarts, and desserts that look as good as they taste.
The coffee was spot on: rich, well-balanced, and clearly made by people who care about their craft. The cakes were the real highlight though—perfectly baked, not overly sweet, and incredibly satisfying. You can tell quality ingredients are used.
Lovely atmosphere, great for slowing down and enjoying a proper coffee break. If you’re a fan of good coffee and well-made desserts, this place is absolutely worth a visit. Will definitely be back ☕🍰
I have been there two mornings. Different staff has very different attitudes. Their coffee is good, but not unique enough to bear some staff’s coldness and rudeness.
Beautiful spot for a morning coffee and a little snack
Amazing place, both in terms of the pastries and the coffee, but also the ambience of the building as well. It is an impressive building, with very cool atmosphere inside and interior decoration. The iced latte was really good, and the pastries looked amazing.
Great atmosphere. A little pricy but still worth it. The NY roll was actually surprisingly good (white chocolate / berries) and the smoothie bowl I had the day before as well. Lovely seating. A little crowded.
A nice cafe but bear in mind the coffee is 22 Zloty (€5) and the cup is quite small but I guess it’s representative of Poland’s inflation problem!
Nice cafe, ideal for morning coffee and breakfast 👍☕️ There are not many savoury options here, today they only had a savoury croissant with cheese and ham, but they have countless sweet ones... Especially all the cheesecake options were great! 🍰
Very lovely cafe, highly recommend, went there 3 times during 3 days, and packed the food last day on the way back to home country. The rolling croissant was my favorite, and macha milk tea were tasty in both hot and icy. The cafe was always crowded, but the staffs always helped to find the seat:)
Amazing lattes, divine cake, and such a wonderful atmosphere! We accidentally went to the counter to order food for there and even though the waitress let us know that we should’ve ordered at our seat, she helped us at the counter anyway. She was so polite and nice, and as luck would have it, I had a strawberry latte at her recommendation. So delicious! Beautiful views while we sat on the porch. I’d definitely frequent this place daily
