Mini Joe tries to be a Brazilian take on Starbucks, but unfortunately it just doesn’t quite get there. The decor aims for minimalist coffeehouse chic but ends up feeling a bit tired and uninspired, more dated than designed.

The coffee itself wasn’t much better. My latte came in a small cup, was weak, and lukewarm. Not terrible, but far from satisfying if you’re used to richer, European-style espresso drinks. I’ve come to accept that Brazil’s beachside cafés often aren’t built around coffee culture the way European ones are, and that’s fine. Just don’t come here expecting a proper flat white.

I also tried the tapioca with egg, which was unfortunately bland and completely unsalted. It filled me up, but that’s about it.

That said, Mini Joe does have one redeeming quality: it’s a safe, fairly calm spot to sit with a laptop for a while. I saw several people working there, and it seems to serve that purpose well.

Overall, it’s fine if you need caffeine and Wi-Fi, but if you’re looking for great coffee or memorable food, you can probably skip this one and opt for all the many things Brazilian cuisine does excel at

I’m not sure how to put it, but their service really made me feel uncomfortable.
Today at Mini Joe Café, I ordered two takeaway coffees. She (front desk)handed me two cups without lids, so I asked the staff for lids. She gave them to us with a very cold attitude. Because the cups were flimsy, the coffee spilled out when we tried to put the lids on. Coffee ended up all over the counter and on our clothes, yet the lady working at the front just stood there indifferently and didn’t even offer us a napkin.

Nice spot to work from. Comfortable seats, plugs for the computer, wifi - 100mb of internet - extremely helpful. The service was nice when I was there, the food and the coffee was ok, pricey, but standard for the area. Not too loud, I’ve been in a lot of coffees in Zona Sul and this is one of the bests considering structure overall.

Excellent coffee! Specialty coffees with various brewing methods. The food is light, with several healthy options and many gluten-free and lactose-free options.

The desserts are delicious and the wifi works well, so for those who need to work and have a coffee, the place is perfect!

Nothing special, a little more friendliness would be welcome. Dirty table, they took a long time to clean it, only after I asked. The place was full but most people were just using the wifi.

The coffee was actually good.

Good for small meetings, gatherings, and laptop use.

It's a great place to work on a laptop, the Wi-Fi works well, and best of all, the coffee is the best around here.
