Are you looking for a night out with cocktails and live entertainment, or just a casual breakfast, lunch or dinner? You really can’t go wrong with Montownia Food Hall.
If you’ve ever been to a Time Out Market, it’s a very similar concept. A huge central bar serves cocktails, beers and other drinks, surrounded by a fantastic selection of independent food vendors. Whether you’re craving fish and chips, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian, Greek, Ukrainian or a good steak, there’s something for everyone. You’ll also find an excellent ice cream spot and plenty of craft beers on tap.
I love coming here. The atmosphere is always buzzing without feeling overwhelming, and it’s one of those places that’s perfect whether you’re travelling solo, on a date, or with the whole family. If you’re visiting Gdańsk, I’d definitely put Montownia on your must-visit list. The food hall is housed in a beautifully restored former shipyard assembly hall, which gives it a unique industrial character, and it’s only a short walk from the Old Town. They also regularly host live music and other events in the evenings. (Montownia Gdańsk)
It was a quiet afternoon, so easy to find a table and waiting time was fine. Its close to the museum for second world war so its worth coming here before or after seeing the museum. Food was good, street food standard and many options for drinks! A few places have tables and chairs, but its much more fun to sit at the long tables in the centre of the food hall
Such a nice place, big but somehow cosy.
We tried a lot of different places and everything was quick, fresh and tasted good. The Indian butter tikka chicken as absolutely fantastic. Nice bar area with loooots of cocktail possibilities, just tell them an alcohol type and taste profile, and they will make you a nice cocktail.
I really liked this place. It’s a street food market with a great variety of cuisines. Whether you're in the mood for Asian food or a good piece of meat, I highly recommend it.
I went for the truffle burger and it didn't disappoint. It was juicy, and the mushroom sauce was sensational.
The interior has an industrial-style decor, and there’s also a terrace for those who prefer to eat outside and enjoy the good weather.
The prices were some of the best I found in Gdansk
Such a great place to eat! The food hall was really clean and everyone we spoke to was so lovely. It’s dog friendly too, which was a big bonus for us, and they even had dog bowls around for them to use, which was such a cute little touch.
Really enjoyed visiting and would definitely recommend if you’re looking for somewhere with lots of different food options.
A nice place to go out and eat at when staying in Gdansk. If you are multiple people you all should find something that catches your eyes. There is asian, greek, american, indian, polish and so on of food options. There is also a bar for drinks. Everything we ordered tasted good. Just be aware that it is crowdy. We will definetly go there another time.
This is a perfect place for my family. Everyone can get exactly what they want and the prices are reasonable! Also- the food is freaking amazing!!!
I only sampled the bar and Polski but there’s a much choice and it all looked good. Decent price food and drinks and well worth a visit
I visited recently after a trip to the European Solidarity Centre for some lunch, so much choice and plenty of seating. Comfortable, warm and clean and visually very nice. There are multiple food vendors from polish to Indian to Chinese to Mexican. I enjoyed the baked potatoe, very reasonably priced and a huge portion too. Highly recommended after each trip to the museums or shipyards.
Loads of different types of food stalls to buy food ranging from Thai to traditional polish to burgers. They have music on some evenings. You order at whichever place you want and sit in the big communal area. Great idea. We went for some zapiekanka and the recipe gave us money off drinks at the stall opposite.
One of the best food halls I have been to, found by chance on TikTok but the atmosphere, service and food did not disappoint. Lots of seating, so much choice and enjoyable traditional polish cuisine from the most friendly staff members. Definitely recommend!
Lovely place, nice atmosphere and a good variety of cafes and bistro. From Polish pierogi to vietnamese fast food. A cool bar at the center. You can also observe sport matches and competitions.
Montownia is far more than a typical food hall, it is a vibrant, multi-purpose venue that effortlessly blends dining, socialising and entertainment. From bar experiences to themed events such as bingo and dj, it is clear that this is a destination with year-round appeal.
We visited primarily for the food and overall, the experience was very positive. Sampling from four different vendors, we enjoyed excellent Korean dishes, beautifully prepared prawn and crab dim sum and particularly impressive udon noodles. The quality across most offerings was high and pricing felt very reasonable for the standard delivered.
There were, however, a couple of drawbacks. The Italian option (pomodoro pasta) was underwhelming and the staff at the Korean stall, while serving excellent food, were unfortunately rude and at times sarcastic, which detracted from an otherwise enjoyable experience.
That said, the atmosphere is where Montownia truly excels, modern, sophisticated and relaxed, with a buzz that never feels overwhelming. It is a place that genuinely caters to all tastes and occasions.
We came here for dinner and shared a few different dishes. There were lots of options, all bringing something different to the table. The history of the building itself alongside with the concept of a food hall makes for a very interesting visit. I would highly recommend to anyone!! There’s definitely something for everyone no matter how fussy you are.
Something for everyone and the food is exceptional! We tried most places during our stay and were not disappointed once! Green eggs was amazing for breakast too.
I had fish. it was perfectly prepared and tasty. My friend had Georgian food and she got very satisfied as well. highly recommended place 👌
Interesting place for its history and the fakt that you have different cuisines under one roof. Nevertheless, music is too loud and at least the dish I tried was terrible. I ordered żurek from Polki and it was the worst żurek in my life (and I know how it should taste as I am Polish and more than half a century old so have enough experience). The żurek I received was look warm, with a layer of fat on top and no taste. I was struggling to eat some but eventually left more than half. Not a good experience. I was sitting there for a while and also observed staff. They look like if they were there for punishment. I do not expect them to be passionate with what they do but at least pretend that you like it. It is customer service after all, people come here to have good time m, not to see miserable faces.
Stayed here for 3 nights and was given an upgraded room. Room was huge and has a kitchenette, large bathroom, dining area and sofas. Very private, no other sound from adjacent rooms. Downstairs has a food hall with amazing food! Very easy to find. Only a 10-15 month old walk to the centre.
The food hall is fantastic!
The Vietnamese pho is delicious, the dim sum really good, and the Korean fried chicken is amazing. I also loved the craft beer selection—perfect place to enjoy great food and relax at night
Montownia Food Hall is a fantastic place if you’re with a group where everyone wants to try something different. There is a huge variety of food options available, from different cuisines and flavors, so everyone can find something they like.
Keep in mind that on weekends or in the evening, it can get quite crowded, so be prepared for a lively atmosphere and maybe a wait for a table. The service can vary depending on which restaurant you order from, so experiences might differ.
If you’re in a hurry or prefer to eat elsewhere, they also offer takeout options, which is really convenient.
Overall, it’s a great spot for food lovers who enjoy variety and an energetic environment!
We ate here twice on holiday. Great place with good beer! We enjoyed noodle house and sexy smash burgers. Seems like there are also lots of events on for everyone.
The food hall was fantastic – so many options to choose from, all delicious and fresh. The atmosphere was great, everything was clean, and the variety made it even better. Such a nice experience to have this right under our hotel. Everything was truly wonderful!
Food hall with lots of restaurants. Must visit if you want to try foods from different culture. A 8 minutes walk from Plac Solidarnosci station. At night you have to cross a shady narrow street to reach there. Avoid google maps routes and try to find wider streets at night.
Great dining spot. Cost ambience. Spoilt with choices.
I had Greek, it was delicious !
This place has everything you need from a food hall. A great selection of food and drinks. Friendly staff. Great decor. Lots of seating. Clean. Great vibe.
A modern food hall with plenty of choices. As visitors, we went for the Polish option. The service was very “Polish”, the food was absolutely delicious though!
Amazing experience. Everybody can find something that they will like. The atmosphere fits the vibe, nice music. The staff is very nice. Plenty of places for sitting. Very clean space. We went there twice and would love to come back again!
Interesting range of eateries in a buzzing old indoor shipyard building. Inside and outside seating - situated on the outskirts of town but worth the walk out
Very nice food hall with indoor and outdoor seating places, plenty of food options. The place seems to be super busy yet it has many seating places so it was easy to find a spot to sit down.
Food halls don't come a lot better than this one. The building itself is a brilliant conversion of a space formerly used for servicing U-boats giving it a unique atmosphere. it is packed with every type of cuisine you could fancy with plenty of seating inside and out. We tried the Thai stall followed by Deseo, but fancied sampling much more. It is located close to the Solidarity centre and former Shipyards, well worth a visit.
Great mix of food options (Polish, Georgian, Vietnamese, American, etc.) in a cool neighborhood
So much different food to try and all in somewhat reasonable prices. Been to the Green Egg cafe for breakfast twice and both times we were very happy. Went also to another place for Poke Bowls and Bao Buns- poke bowls were nice and Bao Buns probably the best I tried. Last day we went for the Georgian cuisine and to be fair that was edible but I would not buy it again. Great atmosphere there, clean, tasty food. 100% recommend
The food court has plenty of food choices.
There's even a bar in the middle of the hall.
Atmosphere is pleasant.
Amazing, fantastic. We all 5 love this place. Kids also
Fantastic pho, ramen, greek food, also burgers and amazing brrakfast.

When in Gdansk make sure u visit this food hall.
I had three meals over here , Good value for money with multi cuisine food outlets from Mexican soft tacos to sea food soup.
Indian cuisines to Ramen this food hall has a whole plethora of cuisines to offer .
There is ample sitting place bot indoor and outdoor.
Plenty of variety. I went for Sexy Smash burger which was nice. Worth eating there just for the history of the building.
Great place with a cool vibe. There are many restaurants with different cuisines. The food was good, but you can eat better for less money in classic restaurants in the city. There were a lot of people but you can find a table easily.
The bar is amazing. The drinks are top! Very good service.
We ate Georgian food and Italian food, it was very good
Top food hall in a somewhat retired area from the city center. Different cuisines, everything looks tasty. Lounge music, plenty of tables, room inside and outside. Definitely a spot to visit if you are in Gdansk.
Score is relative to this being a mere food court. But one with great variety and local foods on tap. Note that kitchens close promptly at 10pm... not the times noted.
Nice varied selection of food styles from all the different vendors, reasonably priced. The Bloop bar has plenty of alcohol on offer to wash down your dinner. There was live music on one of the days we visited which was a bit too quiet to be heard over the conversation from around all the tables.
Decent prices compared to other european countries. Good for prolonged drinking and eating with friends and family.
A fantastic place with a wide variety of delicious food options from different cuisines. I tried the ramen and it was absolutely amazing – full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Definitely a must-visit spot during your stay in Gdańsk. Highly recommended!
A great place to grab a drink and some fantastic food. Our highlight was the curry stand. Enjoyed the selection of beers on tap also. Reasonably priced with very nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend if visiting Gdansk.
Multiple food stores under one roof! Genuine restaurants... Very close to the accommodation we stayed at 👍
My recent visit to this Food Hall was an experience worth raving about. From the moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the inviting atmosphere and the diverse array of cuisines on offer. Two establishments that stood out to me were Curry Leaves and Noodle House.
Curry Leaves surpassed my expectations with their delectable biryani and samosas, which easily ranked as the best I've had in Europe. The flavors were authentic and rich, though be warned: they don't shy away from spice! Knowing your preferred spice level is key to fully enjoying their dishes. The attentive staff added to the overall positive experience, making sure every aspect of our meal was perfect.
On the other hand, Noodle House delighted my taste buds with their expertly crafted noodles. Each bite was a symphony of flavors and textures, showcasing the culinary mastery of the chefs. The friendly staff at Noodle House were equally welcoming, further enhancing our dining pleasure.
Overall, my visit to the Food Hall was a culinary adventure I won't soon forget. With its charming ambiance, diverse cuisine selection, and friendly service, it's a must-visit destination for any food enthusiast. I can't wait to return and explore even more of what this culinary gem has to offer.
I didn't find any cafe from there which is strange. I visited lunch time and I didnt feel the vibe. Maybe it's more interesting in the evening.
Awesome food hall! There’s different type of cuisines for you to choose from - Vietnamese, Chinese, Mexican, Japanese. There’s also pastries, ice cream, and bars. Good ambience and decoration. Plenty of tables and seats. Clean bathroom.
Amazing place to hang out with friends. Lots of food, the drinks at the bar are really good and the music is great!
