Absolutely love working out of here for my remote job. Great ambience and perfectly heighted chairs to work.
The servers are some incredibly nice people - Max, Ken, Sylvi, Yovanna, and the others I know by face only. :)
They have wifi that sometimes takes a little bit of effort to connect to (turning wifi off-and-on on my laptop usually helps).
Very rude barista (the mid-age guy). I was in a rush trying to get the wifi password to connect my laptop and then buy a coffee but he rudely asked me to buy something first not understanding the urgency that I needed to connect first.
I go here all the time. It's obviously a favorite for so many of its patrons because the place is never empty. Fair wifi speeds and catchy but simple drinks available and served by a completely capable, skilled, friendly, and quirky staff. This place is very welcoming and a lot of the patrons are also very friendly.
Great place to get work done. I got the Iced Matcha Latte with lavender; So good!
Good drinks, wifi, and customer service.
Large coffee shop with decent priced drinks. Mostly used for people working.
Awesome little cafe, I had the iced bennu and while it's on the sweeter side I really enjoyed it. wifi worked well and staff were lovely, very patient and helpful.
Great place to work or study with friends, I like their goat cheese tamale. Employees are friendly.
Kinda a rip off for coffee and their wifi expires after 3 hours, came here to work for a bit and asked for a new code and they told me I had to buy something else?? the wifi isnt even good here. Thought this was a weird system. Also their portions and proportions are just absolutely hilarious, insane amount of ice to avoid actually giving customers coffee and super small hot lattes, half the size of a normal small latte anywhere.
Not to mention the baristas will just flirt with girls at the front of the line for ages when theres a whole line behind them. Not having it
Have to buy an item to use their wifi, they will make no exceptions even for people fasting for religious holidays.
Good coffee and food. internet is slow and spotty if you're looking to work from here. Goes in and out.
Great coffee, served in generous ceramic cups. Large space on 2 levels with room for ~50 people with lots of soft chairs and small tables. It's often crowded with people working on laptops all day. Even large outside space.
I came to Bennu three to four times a week during my first month in Austin. The coffee's mediocre/passable but the environment was conducive for work. I don't mind that you have to make a purchase to get wifi card (there's a sign on the door that tells you one purchase minimum) as I would often stay for hours, working away.
Today, however, after I had worked for three hours the wifi expired and they refused to refresh my wifi without purchasing another item. Their sign on the door says a one purchase minimum, which I had made, but in addition to that they want you to buy something every 3 hours you stay in the store to use wifi. I get that as a customer you should pay to use their space, but limiting the time that you can use a fixed cost resource when the capacity isn't even close to full? That really rubbed me the wrong way.
I spent generally around $10-18 per visit just to be denied wifi access after 3 hours? For context, that's $240/mo. at the rate I visited them in the past. This is $70 more per month than a wework membership which allows you access to high-end coworking locations across the country, with wifi, printing, unlimited coffee and many other benefits included. Even if I were to just look at the coffee prices, they aren't cheaper than other shops in Austin - all of which provide free wifi (without mandating a purchase).
Nice place to get a cup of chai and set down and get some work done
One of my favorite places to work! They have comfortable seating and lots of outlets, the snack and drink options are great, fast internet and it’s always pretty quiet.
Dropped for coffee was good and service was great and quick has internet for laptop.
Funky place full of students using the free wifi. Our food was decent but nothing special. The coffee was... well, coffee.
The place is filled with UT students working on their school work. If you want a place to be heads down and get motivated to work from. It’s this place.
Parked my van outside and worked for like 6 hours. Good wifi even from the parking lot but you need to purchase something to get the code.
Good place to get some work done.
Good place to work and drink coffee
This is a wonderful coffee joint off Soco. It’s definitely a working and studying vibe. They are also open 24 seven which is great for those. Looking to get a late night or early morning fix.
Their coffee selection is unique, and they have pretty good breakfast tacos, and baked goods. A good price for what you get. Nothing over-the-top or fancy about this place. Just good vibes and good coffee and food.
