Cake Cafe

Very disappointing experience.
Before ordering, we asked about the price of the strawberry cheesecake and were clearly told it was £120, so we proceeded. When we requested the receipt, we were shocked to find the total was £925, with the mini cheesecake charged £360, more than double the price we were told.
We would never have ordered it had the correct price been told. This lack of price transparency is unacceptable.
In terms of quality, the dessert was not literally a cheesecake. It was essentially a thick layer of cream topped with crushed biscuits, with a few strawberry slices placed around the edges, bearing no real resemblance to a cheesecake in structure or taste. The quality was below average and did not justify the price.
We were also charged £35 for a small bottle of water, which is unreasonably expensive even compared to fine-dining restaurants. Overall, we paid around £500 per person for just coffee and dessert. Poor value for money, and not a place we would visit again. Also, the £82 service charge is excessive for the minimal service provided and was not communicated before ordering.

Guys, save your money. Absolutely disgusting, Coffee. You are literally charging double the price of any other café around Zamalek. £127 for espresso and the coffee was sewage. At least if you’re gonna charge this amount, have the decency to get nice Copy beans. Plus, it took me five minutes to order. And the guy was free there’s nobody in front of me. Used to be somehow nice and Now is disgusting.

Well, in the beginning, it's not my first time there, but it's my private one. I have ordered macchiato and honey cake, and actually, i went there for studying, so i looked for cozy and quiet place with a good view.
Absolutely, i have found it on their second floor.

Macchiato was very optimal and has a good taste in addition to the high quality of its ingredients. You can taste their quailty easily from your first sip.
Although i'm not a honey cake's lover, i found it great!. Thus, i think it will be my cup of tea there if i go again.
Finally, they have 3 parts. The outdoor's one, and it's the best for chilling out with your friends, especially if you are a smoker.
The first floor indoor, i don't like this area because it's very close to their kitchen and the cashier.
The third one and my favorite one. The second floor. It forms a long sofa and 4 tables. In addition to high bar table. Moreover, they also have one isolated table with two chairs.
They were great, and i'm happy with this experience, i'm going to go there again to brush up my attention.

I thought going to a specialty cake place would mean top notch cakes. But that's the thing: a. This isnt a specialty cake place cuz they surve a lot of other things, and b. Not all of their cakes are top notch. We had a carrot cake which was 4/5 so acceptable, and an apple cinnamon cake which was 2/5 at best: the cake kept crumbling as soon as my fork touched it, my guess is it wasn't fresh, and the sauce was watery with zero consistency. Not to mention how thin my slice was compared to the carrot cake slice i was so jealouse! Only good thing about it was the cinnamon infused apples on top.

Atmosphere was okayish but not my personal fav because it was crowded and at times i couldnt hear my friend talk!

Very disappointing experience. The service was poor, the prices were unreasonably high for the quality, and the drinks were below expectations. Definitely not worth the money.

Breakfast is amazing specially the labnah rucula plus its their size into 4 small peaces , iliked it so much, thank u very much..

I wanted something on the lighter side so I chose the Tiramisu cake which was nice. It was definitely tasty rendition of the dessert but it didn't taste very coffee-y.

My pet peeve was honestly the cappuccino I ordered in the paper cup which was already so small but the cup came half full of just foam so I'd recommend sticking with the glass cups because the people across seemed to have a normal amount of coffee, unlike mine.

The upstairs seating area is comfortable but could get stuffy quickly eventhough there was a really good AC.

We paid 220 which felt like a bit much.

I tried their carrot cake and salted caramel cake which were really good, but I didn’t like the drinks which were iced latte and iced tea.

Cake is the ultimate spot for coffee and a good time, they have the most delicious cakes ever and the staff are the friendliest people on earth

This is a little charming place for a coffee and cake stop. We tasted three different kinds of cake and all of them were above expectations with a special prize to the Apple Date one.

The place has a friendly staff and isn't expensive. Definitely recommend it!

If the place is too crowded you can always try the Cafe next door which is pretty similar to this one! ;)

This place is soo nice, the stuff is friendly the food, the coffee, and the drinks were all good I highly recommend this place.

It was very nice and had a very nice sandwiches I defo reckon the chocolate cake. The only problem was that the music was a bit weird

So awful experience, starting by the dirty table which is not stable. The cake is old, the waiter bought the drink without tray so bad and highly don’t recommend it

You should try their three milk caramel ( tastes like tres leche) , oreo cheesecake, and their rainbow cake . Also, their american coffee tastes so good .

We had a great savoury breakfast with coffee from portafilter machine and finished with home made carrot cake and Lotus cheesecake. Ahmedsaad, our waiter, was absolutely lovely and very attentive. Absolutely recommend

The cutest smallest most delicious freshest cakes in the town. Very nice service and internet.
If you are looking a quick bite and a place to work at i highly recommend it.
P.s: the Christmas cake is the best.... I am addicted to it also the hot apple cider is not bad at all.

Extremely loud on repeat boring playlist full
of extreme beats ruining the atmosphere of the place that has been known to be cozy spot and make it more of a night club + extreme lack of coordination from the management of the place to accommodate my request despite me being a permanent customer to the place. (Loud music in the second floor is the complain of every single customer I met at Cake).

Been a client of the place for 8 years but there wasn’t any consideration taken to handle my very simple request.

The best thing about this place is the outside seating area, when the weather is nice it's my go to place.
Great service, decent waiters. No fuss about minimum charges or anything of that kind.

Came to try the avocado 🥑 dates 🌴 and there were no dates, and there was no Guava🍐 either..
So settled for a lemon 🍋 mint 🌱 ..

And it's a mix between a juice and a smoothie, lightly slushed.. no sugar but honey added instead..

Have an excellent choice of cakes and hot drinks, you must try the carrot cake there, very nice.

The staff also are nice and helpful, and they have a nice view in the second floor.

I like also who the are utilizing the space very efficiently.

I come to cake when the weather is cooler for the outdoor pavement seating . The trees,breeze and birds are great 🐦 🍃🌳!

Some recommend the upstairs space for work but if ind it too cramped for my preference and the indoors seating downstairs is too tight and gets noisy with incoming to go orders and outgoing waiters.

Despite many coffee spots spurring up recently across zamalek with speciality & alot more diverse offerings, I'd still recommend cake for chill & easy coffee fix especially for the green view which is usually hard to come by in the city. The coffee is good & reliable in its quality consistency . I would recommend the cappuccino & macchiato .

Delicious cake so yummy. Small cafe inside sitting area available. Very clean and the atmosphere is very friendly. The date cake is really recommended

Fantastic cakes. Great coffees. We had the Tiramisu Cake and Three Milk Caramel Cake. Seating downstairs, upstairs and tables outside.

Three milk cake is the perfect cake every the stuff is over friendly, the indoor setting not to big the average size in Zamalik coffee shops. Perfect for coffee and talks , working and studying no music in background I love it

Some positive, some negative.
The staff is really nice, the atmosphere is nice but there's an unpleasant smell upstairs.
The cherry cake was nice, the coffee (Spanish latte) wasn't creamy and tasted like it's mostly water, milk and coffee flavour were very weak.

The internet wasn't stable at all.

Overall not a very bad experience but I doubt I'll go again. Maybe just for a piece of cake and a chat with a friend outdoors.

Cozy, warm, and friendly! This place is a gem, regardless of your affinity towards cake. The place is not suited for large crowds which compliments its calm atmosphere. The drinks are above average, nothing special really. The cake, though, is truly amazing. With a wide variety to choose from, you'll never get bored and you'll want to try every single thing they offer. The portion size, however, could be just a bit bigger! All in all a great place to visit. More than once!

The cakes are their specialty which are always tasty I’ve never tried the savory though. The lights are a bit dim so its hard to study there if you are going for that reason. All in all good place desserts are always delicious.

I was there ordering orange ginger and they give to me with honey added so i told him i cannot drink it with this sweet taste please can u make a new one he said to me of course after 5 mins he gave me a new ine with same taste but a little bit sweetness

I used to love the cake from Cake Cafe but I just had a slice of rainbow cake that was ridiculously dry, tasteless and dense. Their cake used to be fluffy and delicious. Not to mention that the slice was much smaller than it used to be, which in retrospect was a good thing since it was so bad this time.

A small cozy cafe known for its homemade cakes. They serve sandwiches and soups too. Located in a narrow street just of A jezira club. So you could see the elite people of the club taking coffee there. The cake I tried was good. And the grilled cheese sandwich was tasty. The coffee is good too. The service is a bit slow. But the staff was polite.

Adham zain and mohamed ayman were so good at doing there jobs with a great smile in there face ! Was amazed with the way they served us as fast as they can + tiramisu cake was a perfect choice would definitely come again
