💜✨🌫️London fog was not on the menu, but they made for me, and it was beautiful. Creamy milk with your choice of tea.

The bright, artistic space with comfortable seating and a relaxed Bushwick energy makes it perfect for working or hanging out. Tried the oat milk latte (well-balanced) and a slice of banana bread, both excellent. Service was warm and efficient. It got moderately busy but still had good seating. About $17-20 per person. Solid coffee shop with character.

I took shelter here on a whim when it was raining really hard and am really glad I discovered this spot. Super friendly staff, good tea and, most notably, a very peaceful and calming atmosphere. The place has wifi, a restroom and most folks here seem to be just chilling quietly or doing some work on their laptop. Would recommend if you are in the area and need to recharge for a bit.

Lots of cute dogs roll through here. A bunch of indoor and outdoor seating but because the place is so great, it’s typically packed with people working. Great ambiance, nice view, bright natural light. Not enough accessible outlets throughout tho :(

Still love this place! Nook does an incredible job with their programming and facilitates a really endearing, diverse community. Live jazz, book clubs, scrapbooking sessions — you name it.

Guests and baristas are friendly — not to mention totally reasonable prices for coffee and food.

This place is a neighborhood staple for me.

A cute corner coffee shop. The coffee here was average, but the pumpkin bread was heavenly. Their chai tea is quite spicy and comes out uber hot. There’s a variety of indoor and outdoor seating for studying, chatting, and working environments. Some picturesque spots for pictures. Service was quick. Free water was available too. Definitely a great atmosphere to be in to get some work done or meet friends to chat.

Got an iced latte here the other day. The space is huge! It would be a great place for meeting a friend or working (if you don’t mind the noise from other people chatting).
They have a good coffee selection. Prices are normal. The service was fast and friendly. Great cafe overall!

Nook exists entirely on the strength of its space, its events and its hours. work on your laptop late at night on a comfy couch while drinking coffee or a beer. Great. That said, the food and the drink is nothing mind blowing.

Some say coffee is average, i would not agree. Strong and good quality for filter coffee. Why would everyone come if come was average :) i know.. space.. but still

I stopped by for coffee and to get some work done (there’s wifi!). The space gets a lot of natural light and is filled with plants. There’s a good amount of seating indoors and outdoors. The furniture inside is beautiful and made by the owner, David. Also the menu is great. I tried the grilled cheese sandwich and the cinnamon sugar pretzel bites. I highly recommend both. Lastly, the coffee is amazing!

This place is such a great addition to Bushwick’s coffeeshop AND craft beer bar scene. A cafe during the day (great for working on your laptop, or just lounging one of the sofa with a magazine) and a bar at night. I had both coffee during the day and beer at night and both were excellent. The food menu is limited to melted cheese sandwiches (you can choose one from the menu or create your own depending on your bread / cheese / sauce preference) but they’re reasonably priced and my sandwich was delicious. Lots of events happening at Nook at night: trivia, open mic, comedy, live music, happy hour, and more.

SO glad this place is finally open; I’ve been walking past it for what feels like ages! The inside is absolutely adorable. Lots of great space for relaxing or working, both communally and solo. All the owner’s woodworking adds such a homey, cozy feel to the place. Great draft beer list—get the pretzel bites!

Super cozy spot to read, study, or catch up with friends with a solid playlist. Lots of seating indoor and outdoor and free wifi. My lavender oat matcha was a creamy, dreamy sweet treat 💜💚

Would love to see more promotion and use of your reusable cups and mugs. I appreciate the option to create no waste with my glass of iced tea for example, but my friend was bummed all her stuff came wrapped in throwaway plastic. Maybe you could put up some signage to better communicate to all the folks working from your cafe who are all using single use cups. Otherwise great food and and atmosphere. Would also love to see a table or two reserved for folks who ARENT working remotely. Thanks for considering!

Friendly coffee place. It will make you feel like you are in your house living room 🏠. Where you can enjoy good ☕️ with friends or just by yourself working in your computer 🤓.

They also a reward program where you get points and you can save something 💵. Also Avocado 🥑, sandwiches and beers 🍺. Definitely a good place for coffee, work or relax.

My favorite WFH spot right now when I need a change of scenery. Nice co-working vibes with all the other WFH peeps hanging out, and staff is super sweet. Decent coffee, love their avocado toast. Will probably eventually try everything else on the menu! They host a mix of activities on a weekly basis in the evening. Also, they have a subway clock that I love staring at throughout the day.

tbh, this is The perfect coffee spot.

Tons of seating inside and outside, wifi, and different events throughout the week - from trivia to live jazz. Open late on weekends. Hella board games. Cute little marquee that displays run times for the L train (thank you for that). This is a good place for a quiet unwind after work, because they also sell craft beer. To top it off, every staff member has been so nice to me.

My Personal faves are the chai latte & their selection of hot teas.

It has a very peaceful and spacious working environment as well as great flavors. Especially the Yogurt & Granola Parfait is a must taste. And be sure to follow the weekly program on the board in the cafe, there are many fun events.

it looks like a super nice place but it was 20 degrees outside and the heat was not working!! it took me 15 minutes after buying a drink and trying to work to understand i won't be able to do so and it was for nothing. I think if you can't accommodate your customers don't sell to them. only after I asked about the heating did the employees explain.

Nice atmosphere! Everyone is working on weekdays - wifi is good:) And many events in the evening. Sadly, upcharge for plant milk, but there are a couple vegan pastries in stock.

Every time I’m there I have at least one wonderful conversation! The people working are wonderful and the people there are cool and the space is so cozy to be in. Name is very fitting :)

The Nook has been my go-to coffee shop for years, and it never disappoints. The space is cozy and comfortable, perfect for working during the day or just hanging out with friends. It can get pretty crowded on weekdays, so I recommend getting there early if you want to grab a good spot. What really makes The Nook stand out are the extras beyond just great coffee and food (which are both consistently solid). They host craft nights, comedy shows, chess games, and more in the evenings and on weekends, which makes it feel like more than just a café—it’s a little community hub.

If you’re looking for a place that feels warm, welcoming, and always buzzing with energy, The Nook is it.

Not enough seats/outlets…they could have more individual tables. The back area is freezing with no tables for laptop work either

Good coffee options and nice selection of beers on tap. wifi is fast and the environment is cozy and friendly.

This is a perfectly fine cafe except that it's *so crowded all the time.* People like to just bring their laptop and park it there for their entire workday it seems. But that's what the cafe itself is going for. It's fine if you're into that, but I can't stand it. I usually just get what i need and leave cause the drinks are good. I also really like their trivia night.

Left feeling annoyed and like I wasted $7 as the wifi was out but the baristas, who were clearly well aware, decided not to start announcing it until ~10 people complained one after another.

Wish I liked this place as much as some others do. Unfortunately, drinks can be inconsistent - sometimes I get a drink (chai, matcha, mocha) that isn't sweetened at all, then order it with simple syrup during my next visit only to be told that the drink already comes sweetened but I can add more syrup if I want. There's a lot of demand for seating inside the cafe because Nook's outdoor wifi doesn't work unless you're right up against the south wall. I personally come to Nook later in the day to take advantage of their late hours, but it can be especially hard to find seats inside during their evening events.

TLDR: a good cafe to work at if you can get a seat and an outlet (both of which are hard to come by). Coffee is good, pastries are decent.

Iced vanilla latte: 8/10 - the latte itself tasted delicious, the coffee flavor was strong and nutty with the right amount of sweetness (often coffee shops put too much vanilla syrup and it ends up way too sweet). If you order “for here” they’ll put it in an actual glass which is nice

Chocolate croissant: 7/10 - I think the chocolate croissant was decent, perhaps slightly above Starbucks but the price is simply just a lot for what you get in my opinion

Ambiance/Vibe: 4/10 - here is where most of this cafe is losing points. Often people are working from home from this cafe so they are having meetings where they have to talk out loud. Combined that with loud music, other folks just there for a chat, the environment can be kind of chaotic and busy feeling. It’s hard that you can never find a seat, especially a seat with an outlet. Perhaps they would greatly benefit from some more power strips/power extenders. The 4 points are for the decor, board games, and cozy like atmosphere. Other than that, for a cafe that you are trying to work from I’d say check out a less crowded cafe.

One of the best coffee shops in Brooklyn. Great for those looking to study or work remotely, very reliable wifi and tons of cozy seating. This place is very homey and comfortable, it’s very easy to spend hours here reading a good book or writing a report. There are weekly events in the evenings as well. Great spot to grab an iced drink near Maria Hernandez Park

Good place to work, average place for coffee and pastries.
First of all they have plenty of sitting, even though 70% of customers are working there other still can enjoy some empty sitting. Outdoor sitting is available as well.
Their coffee is alright, not something that I would recommend if you are looking for a great coffee experience, but defo worth the money. Croissants are average and quite dry.
They are asking to buy something every 45 minutes you spend there though I haven’t noticed them enforcing it.

I really want to love this place, but there’s a few glaring issues that just make it not a positive experience most of the times I stop in.

The biggest issue is the quality of ‘some’ of the staff (not throwing everyone under the bus of course).

I understand that pretentious barista is a bit of a cliché, but a few members (and at least one keyholder/manager) always leave me feeling bad after every interaction with them, like I don’t belong here.

I am a generous tipper, patient and deferential, and yet I still get negative vibes, lack of eye contact, sighing when taking my order, not acknowledging basic friendly salutations like “thank you so much” or “have a great day” etc. (I know this is new york city, but manners still count here). I was once even denied food because they were “closing soon” (it was an hour and 15 min before close).

The other issue (and not as much the fault of staff/ownership), is the popularity/crowdedness of the spot. I get this is a workspace for a lot of people, but buying a cup of coffee isn’t a ticket to take up a seat for 8 hours. Sey, an incredible roaster 8 min away, does it right with non-laptop seating specifically for customers who come to spend money while enjoying coffee and conversation. The food at nook is great, and the coffee is pretty good, but I always have to decide if its worth risking zero seating (especially in bad weather).

Honestly the simplest explanation is that Nook had become a victim of it’s own success. Because of the popularity, it no longer needs to accommodate the individual, and staff can drive off customers because there’s enough left over that it doesn’t impact sales in a way that gets management’s attention.

I don’t think I’ll be going here anymore, and it’s a shame because it really has all the ingredients for an amazing community space. I think a staff shakeup and some regulations on seating like making the back nooks laptop free would go a LONG way towards sustainability.

slowest, most indifferent service you can possibly expect, and worse, at times. Today, as i walked in, i waited on line for 3 minutes before being approached for an order. candildly, you’ll see most of the guys working as slow as possible or on phones, whereas the girls working actually seem to try.

I wish more focus was paid to the line of customers waiting to order versus the baristas hanging out to chat amongst themselves or with regulars only.

Rude service workers are a trend across Bushwick, and Nook is no exception. The girls here are usually nice enough (like they don't completely ignore you), but some of the guys look at you like you're about to ruin their day and won't even say a word back when you say hi, place your order, and say thank you. Not a word said! Actual silence and glares. Even the guy who handed me my coffee today simply glared at me when I said thank you. Just a sour look on their faces as they stare at you. It feels overtly done (not a matter of being busy or distracted or something) and it brings me down. It's not like I need a conversation, I just hate walking into a place and feeling bad. I'd feel better if I didn't go. Unfortunately, there are so few decent cafes around here and this space is fine for working if you can grab a spot—it's tough though, unless you're early. Coffee is above average, food is below average.

Great coffee and snacks - the pretzel bites with various sauces were particularly good! They also do craft and local beer, plus wine. Most of the furniture was hand made by the owner, which is pretty neat!

Place is pretty quiet during the day, good for working, and in the evening it gets a little more lively. Great spot for people watching as well, due to the wraparound windows. If I lived nearby, would definitely want to be a regular!

Good food and chai, unique seating and decor, very dog friendly, good wifi. They host lovely bake sales and clothing sales. I would love if they got shades for the floor to ceiling windows though, especially the south facing ones. When you sit at the big communal table you feel like you’re baking in the sun. A rectangular communal table would also provide more seating than the small oval one that’s tacked onto the bigger wavy one.

i love this place. it's like the coffee shops i remember before the chains took over. comfortable seating - chairs, couches, bar stools, settees, etc. books to read. games to play.

This is the comfiest coffee shop around! It’s got couches and living room chairs and even a no-shoe nook for max comfort. It’s prime for working remotely for hours. It’s always packed but I always get a seat. One time I went to Poetry Night because they have a whole nighttime lineup too. Very cool. Glad that Nook is walking distance for me!

I found this spot on Google, and it was very cute. I will definitely come back as it's cozy and a good place to study. However, it gets packed pretty quicky qnd its not the biggest place. Another downside is that as it gets dark out, so does inside, so it can be hard to see what you're working on. For the food, the hot chocolate was good, and the yogurt parfait is something I will definitely purchase again. The only thing I didn't care for was that the 2 female staff that were there when I went was a little pretentious.

i really wanted to gatekeep this place but it's my favorite cafe in the whole world. i cafe hop as a hobby and this one will always be my favorite. i try to come in every day. they're always having fun events, the interior is cozy, there's wifi, dogs allowed, comfy indoor and outdoor seating, AMAZING sandwiches and staff that actually like you. and at night they serve alcohol and their specialty cocktails are to die for. whenever i'm not sure where to start my day, it starts at nook.

Nice spot, good wifi. It was packed when I went. Outdoor seating but that’s crazy on a 95 degree day. I had salmon lox cream cheese bagel with a matcha lemonade.

Spacious yet cozy cafe that’s great for working remotely or just catching up with a friend. Delicious coffee and a variety of board games. The only thing that could be better is to clean surfaces and sweep floors a bit more frequently during the day, as it gets a lot of traffic.

Great working spot if you can score a seat, staff is very friendly and quick. Love the different community events they host in the evenings.

Okay, I've come here enough times to write this. Hate writing lukewarm reviews. And I really want to be able to make this a regular spot because there are good things happening.

Pros:

Wi-fi. Tons of seating. The coffee is actually really good (at least the espresso drinks). The food is also good, but there are some issues. Seems like they want to have a community vibe, which is great.

Cons:

The baristas seem like they don't enjoy working here. And fine, nobody has to fake smile or act like they like their job. But it makes it seem like this is somehow a miserable place to work.

A busser or full time cleaner is needed. There are always dishes stacked everywhere. I have seen the person making food wear one pair of gloves for a very long time, even after using the register and handling money... you're supposed to take them off and change them when you're not making food.

Last comment is that it gets really hot inside! That could contribute to unhappy staff. Thanks for reading.

Very speedy wifi and clearly a cozy, loving community hub. This cafe seems to have it all (including a food menu too). I’ve never seen this cafe not nearly full- so arrive early with your laptop if you’re looking for a remote work spot for the day.

Definitely a more relaxed coffee shop, with very inviting environment for friends, work, and games. Feels like a local community space - I've spent hours working here and met new friends, drank good coffee, and more. Highly recommend!

It gets pretty packed here but the people and servers are always sweet when I go. They make a good dirty chai that isn’t too sweet :-) The wifi is always fast for me and the seating is comfy and it’s just a great place for me to work when I need to get outside the house!

I love the concept and layout. Definitely a great place to hangout and have a drink or work but the people working can be quite rude and dismissive. The coffee also kind of sucks. It really keeps me from going.

Paid 6 dollars for a drink that I could not drink there because I had a laptop and the only available seat were "laptop free". The place is nice but I won't come back to avoid this types of problems.

CUTEST PLACE EVER!!!! Great tunes, great coffee, great alc and great woodworking! So much space to work and spread out. wifi! Better than your average coffee spot!!
