Black Milk Coffee and Crepe

Black Milk is one of those coffee shops that understands a very basic human need: sometimes you want to sit down, get some work done, and eat actual food.

The coffee is decent — not life-changing, but fully respectable. What makes this place stand out is that they are not pretending a sad croissant is a meal. The crepes are made to order, fresh, and they have real savory options with actual protein, which is rare enough in coffee-shop land to deserve appreciation. It is the kind of place where you can have breakfast or lunch, feel fed, and not spiral into a sugar crash an hour later.

They also have Wi-Fi and a big communal table, but by around noon most of the good spots seem to be claimed by laptop people, so come early if you want to work in peace. The whole setup makes sense though: a cozy room, good energy, and enough substance on the menu that you do not feel like you are paying Brooklyn prices to snack your way into hunger.

Overall: a very solid choice when you want coffee, Wi-Fi, and food that feels like food. Not performative brunch. Not just pastry crumbs. An actually useful cafe.

Black Milk is my favorite café! Top-tier coffee (great espresso beans + great prep), and the owners and staff are absolutely lovely people who care about the space they’re creating and the customers in it. Great for meeting friends, doing heads-down work, or just being out among people in a welcoming, cozy place.

Good seating variety (if the high table is full I’ve never waited long, and there’s plenty of laptop-free seating) and good music (magically focus-inducing house that isn’t too loud for chat). Plus the prosciutto crepe and mascarpone crepe are bangers, as other reviews say it’s nice to have a café serve actual meals with protein and veg!

This place deserves to succeed!!!

The atmosphere here is amazing, there is some seating for individuals/pairs and an area for a group. The cafe ambiance is relaxing and ideal for just sitting and chatting. They had the best oat milk chai latte, carrot cake, and of course crepes. Never had a mango matcha crepe before but it works super well!!! I totally support that they have a couple laptop-free tables, because as a student too I do understand wanting to study. Unfortunately many workers and students take up tables for very long hours, displacing other types of guests. I was so glad to have room as an in and out guest to sit and just hangout with my loved ones at the cafe, especially in cold weather.

husband and i ordered a ginger cookie, strawberry blueberry nutella crepe, and an avocado crepe. everything absolutely delicious. friendly and professional service, timely delivery. will return to try more! also appreciate that they reserve several tables for no laptop use.

Wonderful crepes. Good coffee. Cozy vibes. Fast, secure wifi. They also have a cute patio in the back. The only bummer is that they have signs on most tables that prohibit laptop use. I would understand enforcing that on off-work hours but who would be coming to a coffee shop at 2pm on a workday without a laptop?! There were several tables open but they said we couldn't use our laptops on them so we ended up crammed on a side table until a spot opened up on the long table they had by the entrance.

I’m here almost every other day. The owners are lovely, coffee great, and vibes immaculate. Good blend of neighbor gathering space and laptop friendly. I crank so much work out to the beat of the music they play

Such a cute spot! They have wifi if you want to work out of there and they play soft music if you want to do a quick catch up with friends. I got a chocolate croissant and salted caramel iced latte which were both delicious. The staff were really friendly. I can’t believe it took me so long to visit but I will definitely be back!

My crepe here was exquisite. Inside tables were mostly full; it looked like laptop users are welcome to the wifi. We had a good time sitting outside. The outdoor area has a table under an awning and two tables with no shade (we didn't need it).

Black Milk is the cutest, coziest spot in Brooklyn for a coffee with friends! I love a morning meet up here. Everything about the place brings joy. The crepes are to die for, the people are so kind, and when the back patio is open during the nice weather you know you could sit for hours ordering refills and yapping. This place truly invites you to slow down and enjoy yourself, from a few laptop free tables encouraging human interaction to the warm greeting at the counter. My go-to order is a strawberry Nutella crepe + iced chai latte.

Super cute place. Good for working on your laptop. Nice back patio. Great cold brew! Avocado crepe is pretty good especially if you love black olives.

The vibes at this place are always immaculate. The coffee is great and the crepes are amazing, and it's independently owned. There's plenty of comfortable space for working, good wifi, and some outlets. I became a regular here for the atmosphere and quality, but also for the people who work there. They're always super friendly and remember regulars - but also the other day I spilled my coffee everywhere (including on someone else's stuff, kill me), and totally unasked, they gave me a new one, no charge.

Been going here for coffee and lattes for a while and just recently had my first crepe. All are excellent and the service here is top notch. The inside is comfortable and good for sitting down with your laptop.
