Café-Flor / Bar 21

Very much an aesthetic IG type space. Very cute in that regard. But. Cappuccino seemed watered down. Music was way too loud. wifi was not working well. Couch / table ratio for some seating wasn’t comfortable. My table also was not cleared for awhile and same for the table in front of me (see pic). I wanted to like it more, but won’t be coming back.

An overall aesthetically pleasing café, which falls short of excellence due to rude staff, and unreliable wifi. Notice how most of the relatively negative ratings are from customers of color, and pertain specifically to service - very telling of the standard of service.

I walked across the city just because was highlighted as one of the best spots to work from. I felt very disappointed when they told me they have a no laptop policy during weekends when the whole venue (with many tables by the way) was empty! Take that into consideration if you going there to work over the weekend.

cute place but the chai latte i got was extremely bland and expensive and they only give you wifi through an individualized passkey that works for two hours on one device

Friendly staff and good place to sit down and get work done

One of my go-to coffee shops to work from in NYC! It’s very spacious, decorated in a very fun way with lots of plants and plenty of seating. They also have smoothies along with coffee.

Great aesthetics, good place to work, wifi connection is not really good, also the coffee is not great, had an americano which was so watered down that tasted like weak tea.

I came with two friends on a weekend afternoon. I didn’t buy anything myself. wifi is good, pw available. Feels crowded but there’s still a lot of seating. My only feedback is the music is way too loud and energetic considering the otherwise calm environment… less Lady Gaga please :)

Doesn’t let you use laptops. Coffee is over priced and doesn’t taste good

OK so this place is awesome during the day. It gets super packed is the only bummer but the decor, juice bar, and overall vibe is awesome. Five stars. The reason why I’m giving a poor rating is at night they shut down the café and the juice, bar and blast music. The problem with this is it doesn’t fit the vibe at all. It’s completely at odds with what people are doing. It would make sense if the crowd shifted and energy but it doesn’t. People are still there working on their laptops or just chilling and reading. I even saw multiple people try to come in for a drink or chill and turn around once they heard the music blaring at top volume. So my recommendation to the owner is to just keep the vibe going. Maybe offer some charcuterie boards, lite bites and wine, some board games maybe but keep the café menu open and don’t blast music like it’s some rooftop bar in Soho. Go with the flow of the customers. I literally have a headache from sitting in there for an hour.

UPDATE
I went back in the evening last week, and the music was at a manageable, volume a tad louder than during daytime hours, but nothing crazy. And the coffee side was still open which was a dream! Hopefully this is a habit and consistent going forward because it was great!

Great vibes but it’s always packed and the music is always loud. The water refill thing is always empty and staff is always going to get to it at some point. Worst thing is the non-existent wifi, it’s a great place to do work if you have noise cancelling headphones and unlimited LTE. I’ll come back with friends but not to work which is really unfortunate

when I went there, they didnt have wifi, not croissants, and the coffee was terrible, it burn my tongue, and tested really bad. Really crowded.

Was told I can’t use a laptop here after I bought something - please tell people BEFOREHAND.

i came here on a sunday to do some work, no where it says no laptops allowed, which was a bummer, just don’t understand why there’s a 90 minute table limit and can’t do what you want during that limit. coffee is pretty good, not the best i’ve had. service and atmosphere is great, would be a great place to come with a friend.

Love this plant filled cafe! Quiet enough to work

Beautiful space: has a touch of that Downton Abbey vibe. Lots of little 2 top tables. Great to have a low key conversation over a cup of coffee. Or work on a sketch. @bradleysapartment

This place has lots of potential but the loud music and the lack of wifi on the date i visited is the reason for the two stars.

During day hours it would be highly appreciated if the music would be some kind of lo-fi that blends with the conversations and the space. Instead, the loud pop music makes it not ideal to work, study, or have a conversation.
On the day I visited there was no wifi, which came to me as a surprise. Anyways, I blame myself for not asking before ordering.

The good stuff. The atmosphere, decoration and plants give a real cozy feeling. There is also numerous outlets to charge laptops and other devices.

Cute cafe with lots of seating and outlets but the wifi is super unreliable and it took almost an hour to get our drinks. Coffee was also not great so overall would not recommend!

No laptop over the weekend. This is ridiculous policy.

Such a beautiful, spacious (very difficult to NOT find a spot), chill cafe perfect for catching up with friends or getting work done, especially on your laptop with their free internet. (Though I struggled getting on the internet with my iPad but did see other customers actively using their laptops for work calls, so take that as you will!)

There are two counters - one that’s the bar for cafe drinks, alcoholic drinks, or pastries, while the other was a juice bar! Had a chai latte with oat milk, a very berry protein shake, and shared with a friend a croissant-esque dulce de leche (absolutely to DIE for).

Highly recommended! Will definitely return.

Very nice and comfy place to work while grabbing a drink. I had the matcha latte and it was so creamy and delicious!

Disappointed by the new laptop policy. Instead of banning laptops why not expand the cafe to more locations or require that people buy a drink every hour they’re there. Bummed to lose out one place that I could go do some of my best writing and design work.

Big bummer about the no laptop on the weekend rule. Seems highly arbitrarily enforced. We’ve been before and it was becoming a favorite Sunday spot to get some work done with lots of seating, wifi, and outlets. Wish they could have told us before we ordered full coffees just to have to leave- we would have gone somewhere else

Great place to take coffee meetings. But pretty busy most of the time and you need to find seats. Lots of people work from there.

Such a beautiful and cozy place to get work done. I’m not a morning person so I was looking for a cafe that is open later that I can do work in for hours (most cafes usually close up around 4-5) so I am very happy. I love being able to sit on a couch and get work done. Music isn’t too loud and my iced latte was yummy.
