I love this place. The staff were so kind and welcoming. They had gluten-free pastries both times I went ( one or 2 portions ) the first time I came I had a gluten-free pumpkin muffin which was delicious and the second time I went I had the gluten-free banana bread, which is also delicious. The coffee was also good and there is plenty of space with Wi-Fi to do work. they also have a covered greenhouse area which is super cute to get some sun, although you cannot work with your laptop in those areas, which I feel like is fair

Charlotte Cafe is one of those spots you stumble into on the Upper West Side and end up staying longer than planned. Super convenient—right near all three subway lines—so it’s perfect if you need a pit stop to get some work done between trains.

The vibe is cozy, with both indoor and outdoor seating that works well for laptop life. Not the place for a gourmet snack though—the pistachio latte is fine, nothing to write home about, and the cookie’s pretty forgettable (and tiny).

Service is average, but the overall setup makes it a solid go-to if you’re looking to knock out some emails or chill in a laid-back space.

Best place to study in the upper west side. There is plenty of table space and the cappuccinos are always pretty. It is a little more expensive than the other coffee shops in the area but definitely worth it for the extensive "single" seating options and quick wifi!

I come here every morning, and I love it.

First, the staff is the kindest/nicest people you will ever meet - I consider them my friends.

Second, it is a true 3rd space with people I get to say hi to and get updates on their lives each morning as they say hi to my dog. It feels like a European cafe as people sit there reading, working, chatting, etc all through the day.

Third, they really know what they are doing with their coffee - truly never had a bad pour there. And their pastries are amazing too.

Always recommend Charolette Cafe to anyone in the area! You won’t be disappointed!

Best Coffe in the upper west side!
I love this café; it’s perfect for working online or just hanging out. It isn’t noisy, and the staff are very friendly, but most importantly, the coffee is delicious in all its varieties. They also have a vast selection of pastries that won’t disappoint.

I went to this coffee shop since it opened... because of quality and courtesy. They have some table you can use to work, others are reserved for short terms, and you have a limit of 90 minutes internet. However, lately I noticed that while I am alway careful to use proper tables when I work, respect time limits, and order appropriately, most people do not. I saw people staying there for hrs without ordering anything, The plugs at the working table are impossible to use... They are nice and I appreciated it, rarely enforce the rules strictly.

Today I was sitting next to the door, it was extremely cold outside, or I would have seat there... I was waiting for a spot in the working table, but I needed to send a couple of emails. As soon as I got the computer out, I was invited to leave. Nobody was looking for a table (or I would have made space) and I was still finishing my coffee... so it was probably 15/20 minutes. It was very unpleasant and embarassing. I understand there are rules, and I am always the first to respect them, but contextualizing it, and being strict without need... is not what I experienced there... If they want to strictly enforce rules, they should be doing it more equally, and not targeting some clients

We were looking for a place to take breakfast and we found this beautiful and amazing coffee shop. The neighborhood is in 96st West in Manhattan. The coffee is amazing and the space quiet intimate.
Pros: Location right off 96street from the subway a couple of blocks away from central park.
Excellent wifi
Good coffee and pastries
Cons: Limited space
The bathroom can be better off.
Parking issues
Overall the coffee shop is a really good place if you ever find yourself in 96 Street NYC I absolutely recommend.

This is a really great cafe on the Upper West Side. The coffee is good and they have a lot of space to work or hang out. They have free wifi which is very convenient and indoor and outdoor seating available. I liked that their large cup of coffees provided a refill and I also really enjoyed the music that they played. Would recommend if you’re looking to get some work done or even hang out with a friend and I definitely will be returning.

This time i had their lemon bar and a small unsweetened iced peach teach while i worked on my laptop. They were both so delicious and the staff was so kind. I also was very happy to see they had a clean restroom for customers. Cant wait to come back again!

Their iced americano and regular iced coffee was divine!

Great cafe with good coffee, food, and wifi access. The baristas are very kind and all know my order when I walk in. It’s a go-to for me after busy workdays!

Yahney-Marie26.09.2026

The best cappuccino I’ve had in Manhattan. There’s a 90-minute seating limit, but you can purchase something else to extend it. laptop-friendly at the communal table and outside of it if there’s space. The pastry was just alright for me. Really kind, considerate staff.

Anas Obaideen26.09.2026

So many reasons make me a regular customer here: amazing coffee/pastries, superb service, a cute French ambience, fast wifi... the list goes on!
Aida and Charlotte are spectacular baristas - this is definitely my favourite café in the whole city 😍

Marsel Preku26.09.2026

Nestled on a quiet street corner, the cozy corner Charlotte Café offers the perfect blend of warm ambiance and top-notch coffee. From the moment you walk in, the inviting aroma of freshly brewed espresso greets you, and the charming décor immediately makes you feel at home. The minimalist design, with rustic wooden tables and soft lighting, creates a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, ideal for both working or catching up with friends.

Their coffee menu is impressive, with everything from classic cappuccinos to more adventurous options like oat milk lattes and nitro cold brews. I opted for a flat white, and it was perfectly balanced—smooth, rich, and with just the right amount of froth. The baristas are clearly passionate about their craft, taking care in every pour and offering recommendations if you're unsure of what to try.

Beyond the coffee, the café also serves an assortment of freshly baked pastries, with the almond croissant being a standout. It's flaky, buttery, and pairs wonderfully with a hot cup of coffee.

The staff is friendly and attentive, always ready with a smile, and they make it easy to feel like a regular, even on your first visit. There’s also free Wi-Fi, which makes it a great spot for those looking to get some work done while sipping on their favorite brew.

Whether you're looking for a quiet place to unwind or a great spot to fuel up during your day, Charlotte Café is the way. It's a must-visit for any coffee lover in the area. Thank you😁

Basically the best place in the whole world: amazing service and kind ppl, great vibes, strong wifi, and reasonable prices(coming from someone who orders with a million flourishes.)

Victor Oppenheimer26.09.2026

Best dirty chai latte i’ve had in nyc. Great place to get do work and the staff are always a pleasure. They do have a 90 minute laptop policy, but just buy another dirty chair latte and the time resets. You won’t regret it.

Dan R26.09.2026

Great place. laptop friendly. The music can be a bit loud and annoying, but whatever.

This place is good enough, but really I should leave a crappy review, so people go somewhere else. And that's the best endorsement you can get from a New Yorker.

Fern Clausius26.09.2026

I just discovered this place and absolutely love it! It reminds me of living in Italy. The coffee, pastries and food is all unique and equally delicious. The staff is so friendly and it’s the perfect laptop work environment that’s missing in NYC.

Timothy Stewart-Winter26.09.2026

Amazing staff and coffee, and the best coffee shop on the UWS for working.

Caroline Welch26.09.2026

I LOVE this cafe. First of all, the people who work here are so, so, so nice. They transform something as simple and transactional as ordering a tea into an experience that I actually look forward to. Just good vibes all around. There's so many tables where you can work, decent wifi (sometimes it can be a little shaky when there's lots of people, but it's mostly reliable), outdoor seating, and a good selection of food and drink. Plus they're open until 7:30, which very few places are. Highly recommend swinging by Filicori Zecchini if you're in the neighborhood.

Stephanie Arellano26.09.2026

The customer service here is amazing! I enjoyed the short time I was here very much because the woman working here helped me with my coffee and plate to the outdoor seating. My hands were a bit full because I was with ny daughter and I didn’t want to eat indoors since there was a lot of people already inside.
Not only is it friendly here but they are clean.
I also want to add that their customer service is so sweet . I cannot emphasize that more. I would be returning more often ..

Ellie April26.09.2026

Love Vance and Aida! Been coming here for years and will not stop! Coffee? AMAZING! Service? SPECTACULAR! Plus there room for doing some work and wifi! Definitely has become the neighborhood cafe!

Jodie Gould26.09.2026

Love this cafe! One of the friendliest places to stop in for a coffee/treat respite or pull up a laptop. A welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Vladislav Mandzhiyev26.09.2026

Comfortable seating, fast wifi, and most importantly -- delicious java in a chic setting. A must for all locals!

Alana Babers26.09.2026

Love this place. It's always crowded but can always manage a seat or two! Perfect for working/wifi sitch which can be tough to find especially on weekends. ORDER SOMETHING if you're gonna use the space! And ORDER MORE if you're gonna sit around for hours! It's the decent thing to do for the business and for your neighbors.

Ducaliner26.09.2026

It does feel like a fast cafe in the european modern style like you would find in a train station for example, decent espresso drinks, and I like their multigrain croissants! Crowded but lots of seating.

wifi working now for iOS and Win11. Speedtest 2.2-3.6 Mbps down/3.7-6.0 Mbps Up, ping 54-164 ms.

Desi btw, makes the best matcha lattes around! 5*****!

Peter LaRuffa26.09.2026

This place is modeled after street cafés in Europe. The staff, the music, the seltzer water that comes with the espresso, even the seating style is all very European & will cause you to temporarily forget you're on the UWS. Fairly limited seating near outlets, so working can be tricky (but people do). But if you're looking for a place that pulls a great shot or to meet someone for coffee, it's a great spot.

Alexandre Hammoudi26.09.2026

Fantastic coffee, food and French pastries right out of the 96 st and Broadway.
Great service and good people working here.
Highly recommend.

Benjamin26.09.2026

This place is always full! For good reason too. If you're wanting to get some laptop work done I definitely recommend. Just don't be surprised if you have to wait for a seat. Coffee is splendid as well.

Jordan Jethwa26.09.2026

This is a great place to bring a laptop and get some work in or study. The staff are super friendly and very customer service oriented. The espresso is good, not too dark or acidic. They give you a small chocolate with your coffee too.

Youandi JMH26.09.2026

Some have called it overpriced, tbh I think that's not true, it's cheaper than Starbucks and Birch Coffee, the wifi is better, the personnel up for a small chat. Great character in this place. Nice view on Broadway really gives you the feeling you're in NYC. Great place for remote freelancers like myself. There's people having conversations and that gives a bit of energy which I love when I'm working. My go-to place right from the start. 10/10.

Chanel Lyons26.09.2026

I love this coffee shop. The staff are friendly and the pastries are good. It's always nice to have a little conversation with your coffee. It's also a great place if you need to work. They have outlets and wifi.

Ellie Sondock26.09.2026

Great place to work on your laptop: free Wi-Fi, lots of tables, even a few outlets. The egg and cheese sandwich and cheesecake are great.

Christopher Pohl26.09.2026

Honestly? The coffee and service here is fine and adequate.

However, the cafe clearly doesn’t want people hanging out here to work or be productive. Why? (Not including the time limits) Because their wifi blocks essential websites and tools you need. For example, I couldn’t connect to GitHub, iCloud storage, even my school’s canvas page, I’m sure there’s a lot more. If you come to work expect to connect to your phone’s hotspot.

Lily Cohen26.09.2026

Love love love this cafe and the wonderful staff. They are so lovely, hard-working, and kind. Feels like seeing family every time I go in!

Eliseo Labayen26.09.2026

Amazing coffee, service, and ambience for a coffee sit down or to get some work done on their free wifi. Did I mention free refills?? Definitely coming back and highly recommend to anyone looking for something better than Starbucks or DD

Found my new favorite writing space. 90 min limit on the tables. Super friendly staff who go above and beyond for customers. And lots of yummies to enjoy while working. A++

Jesse Pimpinella26.09.2026

Food was good, wi-fi was strong, plenty of seating and the Baristas Aida and Desi were both charming, accommodating, and seemed very happy to be working here!

Enrico Zanardo26.09.2026

Nice local cafe! the espresso is good and the pastries are OK. The vibe is a bit cold, so I wouldn't recommend it for working

Jonathan Zacsh26.09.2026

Great cushy seats, large/bright windows, delicious coffee, has both LinkNYC wifi and it's in wifi. Music is kind of loud and disruptive rock, so bring headphones/earbuds.

Stuart Izon26.09.2026

Easily the best cafe in the area, the coffee and pastries are delicious, and there is good table space for working/studying
