I ordered an iced americano with a splash of cream + caramel & kindly informed them I liked it sweet so they suggested adding simple syrup. The drink tasted like straight espresso & as you can see by the photo, that is not a splash of cream. The chocolate croissant was ordinary, so enjoyed it for what it is. Total was $11.43 (after tax).

I had a pretty mid experience in my opinion. Great space with a lot of seating to get some work done and focus, outlets + free wifi available + accessible bathroom. Staff were nice & welcoming to me. Overall, would come here again if I need an open early place to get work done.

First time trying The Coffee Project in Brooklyn. It is fantastic! Perfect place to work, there are plenty of outlets if you need to charge your laptop; also there is a good amount of seating, so even if it is busy you will probably find a spot. I arrived at 7:30am, there was only one other person, it is now 8:05am, and almost every table is taken. But still lots of counter/bar seats! I ordered a cappuccino with skim milk, probably the best Capp I've had in Brooklyn, and I've had a TON. Also, most (if not all?) of their pastries are vegan, and excellent. (in other words.... they don't taste vegan). Highly recommend!!

As a freelancer I work in coffee shops alot. During my visit to NYC I found this place and was enthused by the ample seating, outlets, and good wifi! The vibe is nice too, with brick and wood furnishings, open air and nice giant windows for natural lighting, high ceilings, and chill music. I got the cold brew and it was one of the better ones I've had. The baristas were also quite nice and quick. One guessed my Astro sign on the 2nd try!

Fantastic 3rd wave coffee with hard to find techniques for making coffee (ex: iced pour over), and rotating roasters. Also a chill place to just hang out with wifi and affogatos.

Dog friendly! Cute place, not so easy to find if you don't know it is there. Coffee is good. Service was great. wifi is available and some tables have no laptop signs.

The barista was nice enough. Did the minimum of saying hi and asking what I wanted. I asked for two things but was informed that they were out of both items. So I pivoted. He said he could make me the egg burger I wanted... there would just be no spinach so I said sure. The egg burger was so bad I wish I had the nerve to ask for a refund. I truly never find food to be bad but this egg burger bordered on inedible. It was completely tasteless, was processed spongy frozen texture, and had no tomato. Other components offered no flavor as well. I did not finish it. The arugula with tomato and cucumber and dressing on the side had more flavor. I ordered a vanilla latte which was decent but nothing special and certainly overpriced. It was also lukewarm when it came out. Not at all hot. Had to drink rather quickly because it got cold almost immediately after serving it to me. wifi is nice and decent table space but I truly wish I had the nerve to ask for a refund given how utterly bad the egg burger was and the fact that my latte was lukewarm. For $30 after tip I feel frustrated to say the least.

Honestly use to love this place. But, they are so over priced now.

Also, just in general had a really bad experience today. When I was ordering my drink, i have a milk sensitivity and so took a while to look at the menu. I saw that switching regular milk for oat milk was an extra $1 and so when I ordered I tried to be super specific and said “I would like a hot chocolate, with oat milk.” I said oat milk separately to be extra specific. And she said ok to the hot chocolate and then ok to when I said oat milk. I paid for everything and was about to walk away, but I saw the barista pull out regular dairy milk, so I double specified to her. “Hey, I ordered this with oat milk.” And the person that took my order gave me an attitude and said “you know that’s an extra charge”. Like what, I literally told you specifically “with oat milk” 2 seconds ago. She then proceeded to ask me to pay again so that I can specifically pay for the oat milk that was her mistake for not adding in the first place. This never happened to me when ordering at a coffee shop. If the barista or person at the counter makes a mistake with my order, they usually apologize. But no, she made me go and pay a dollar for the oat milk. At this point I wanted to just walk out. It was very much her mistake and her gaslighting attitude was just rude. Girl I know it’s an extra charge, that’s why I was specific. Definitely not a fan of this behavior.

They overcharge customers and then also come with an attitude when they’re in the wrong. I was baffled and felt gaslit at the same time.

I would say, otherwise the customer service was fine, but it is crazy over priced. Especially because they give you the smallest cups I’ve ever seen in my life on top of the high prices.

Honestly, it’s a great place to work with your laptop or come with a friend to chat. But, prepare to pay airport level prices here. Especially if you want to get anything to eat outside of a muffin.

Also, if you want to order make sure to do their job for them and ask them if they added the extra dollar for the oat milk after you specify the oat milk. It’ll save you from receiving a sassy gaslighting attitude. But beware they still may charge you extra for their mistakes.

i used to love this place and was so happy they opened a branch in brooklyn. today was the first time i visited here after a couple of months and there were a couple of disappointing changes. although the coffee was still excellent but the lemon loaf cake i ordered was definitely old and dry and NOT WORTH $4.50 for such a small piece. the last time i ordered, it was moist and lemony at least! then what happened to the ambience? it used to be totally chilled with not too loud (and decent) background music but today they are blasting mediocre pop album that i cannot even think. maybe it all depends on who's working and i was unlucky today but i'll have to think twice about coming back again.

The coffee is quite good, comparable to other good spots in the neighborhood, and the people working there are nice, but this is by far the priciest coffee in the whole of Fort Greene. Not sure why to be honest, Bitter Sweet is definitely better.

This is the perfect place to kill your time before your early afternoon movie at BAM pending seat availability. I like how they have the designated "laptop free seats" on weekends. Personally I like their flat white though all their espresso drinks are solid.

Why a no-laptop policy on Saturdays and Sundays if their tables are as empty on weekends as on weekdays? Way to alienate a good deal of patrons!
