Sortd Cafe is easily one of the best premium cafes in Alwarpet. The ambience, infrastructure, and overall setup feel modern and well-designed. Their menu itself is very creative and different from regular cafes, which adds to the experience.

The cafe offers multiple seating arrangements, so you can choose whatever feels comfortable — whether it’s for casual hangouts, work, or group conversations. They also allow table reservations through calls or online booking, which is convenient during busy hours.

The food and drinks are genuinely good, and while the prices may feel expensive to some people, they are pretty standard for a premium cafe experience. The presentation of dishes and the overall environment make it worth it.

The staff are professional and communicate well in English. The place is also very photography-friendly with aesthetic interiors and unique food presentation.

Another good feature is the large meeting or conference-style room they have, which seems useful for business meetings, group discussions, or private gatherings while still enjoying food and drinks.

Parking management is handled properly, and the staff help guide you with parking as well. Overall, a solid premium cafe that’s definitely worth visiting.

We visited this cafe for a casual meal and had a really good experience overall. The ambience was one of the first things that stood out to us. The space is well designed, comfortable and has a nice contemporary feel to it. It is the kind of place where you can sit down, have a meal and actually enjoy spending some time there.

What I particularly liked was the variety of flavours and combinations on the menu. It isn't limited to the usual cafe-style options, and there is a good mix of dishes and drinks to explore.

We started with the Sathappan Chilli Egg, followed by the Amchi Chutney Sandwich and Chicken Tikka Sandwich. Both were good, and we enjoyed the overall flavour profile. The food was well prepared and had enough of a fusion element to make it interesting without feeling unnecessarily complicated.

For drinks, we ordered the Chocolate & Avocado Shake and the Caramel & Biscoff Shake. We also had a small special request and asked if the Chocolate & Avocado Shake could be made without the avocado. The staff were accommodating and were happy to make the change, which I appreciated.

The service was really good throughout the visit. The staff were friendly, attentive and responsive, and our request was handled without any fuss. The service was also reasonably quick, which made the overall experience smoother.

Overall, it was a really enjoyable experience with good food, attentive service and a comfortable ambience. The variety in the menu and the fusion of different flavours make the place interesting to explore, and the staff were genuinely helpful throughout our visit. There is definitely room to explore more of what they offer, but based on this visit, it was a solid cafe experience.

This place has become my favourite in recent days. We went on a Sunday afternoon for a light late lunch, this place was packed. We had booked via Zomato and got our seats reserved. They had many great healthy options available on the menu like overnight oats, smootie bowls and mediterranean combos. If you are someone who is focused on eating healthy and trying out new things like food from different cultures I would recommend going to this cafe as this place has a great selection curated into a menu. The staff were really great and service was very good. Valet parking is available however if you have to park your car yourself there is only limited parking available outside the restaurant. The location is on the main road, difficult to miss.

Sangeetha Gangadharan02.11.2026

This is just another cafe. I went there since it was trending on instagram but there is nothing special here. The mocha tasted like cocoa powder. The spicy chicken pizza felt bland except for the chicken.

The spinanch and egg bowl was good. Loved the Truffle and 3 cheese sandwich. That was the only saving grace.

This felt overrated rather than satisfied.

Valet parking is available.

Amanda02.11.2026

Beautiful, thoughtful service from Supano. Delicious coffee and tasty food. Wholly recommend this stylish and clean cafe for breakfast or other meals. internet fab and clean toilets too.
Shannu is a professional barrister and each coffee is artistically prepared and good quality coffee beans - brilliant experience chatting to the staff - made to feel very welcome

Kumaran SK02.11.2026

Packed house on a Sunday evening with a mostly young crowd. While the ambiance is nice, the food is seriously underwhelming for the price tag.

The cheese poppers tasted straight out of a frozen packet from bite one, and the fusion parotta egg kalaki was a complete miss. Mushroom soup was just average. The only dish that hit the mark was the chicken shish tawooq soft and flavorful. The starters were so disappointing that we cancelled our plans for mains/desserts and just left after a cold coffee.

Good spot to sit and hang out if you don't mind spending, but definitely not a place to visit for good food

Maya Vivek02.11.2026

Tasty food, the murukku sandwich could be better. Something was off, unable to specify. The dubai hot chocolate was a tad too sweet for me. Their salads are surely a winner. Service is good. Good ambience and vibes to sit and work or have a relaxed cup of your fave cafe brew!

ramya vundigala02.11.2026

It's a very chill experience. We had brunch in the cafe and loved almost everything we ordered.
The staff was very polite and helpful, they helped us understand the menu and made sure we get the food on time. Overall a 5 star experience and would love to visit it again.

Dharani Rajendran02.11.2026

Had the Veg ( paneer, Asian peanut Satay) quad certified meal bowl at Sortd. tasty and healthy. Ideal for anyone who has a habit of eating out yet trying to stay conscious of their diet

divya tajan02.11.2026

Great food and especially the coffee! I loved their Ube-flavored drinks and the Iced Dates Latte. All of their meal bowls were delicious, with the Tex-Mex bowl being my favorite. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. Definitely a place I’d come back to!

Harishankar Kannan02.11.2026

I really love their cold brew but the Mont Blanc wasn’t upto the mark since the crème got infused with the cold brew even without stirring and wasn’t good.

While rest of the foods that we order was great like the signature French toast, avocado toast.

House of Mirrors02.11.2026

We absolutely love Sorted. They do a fabulous job of creating the perfect atmosphere where coffee lovers, nutrition focused foodies and working in a ‘sorted’ environment all meet. Their comfortable elbow resting tables, convenient plug points and bright lighting make working really easy.

Shobana Patrick02.11.2026

The food was a massive letdown, coffee was the only thing which was good. We ordered shakshouka, nothing great which i couldn’t have made at home itself and it was served with a tiny slice of sourdough- question here is what am i supposed to do with the rest of the gravy? Shakshouka is eaten with bread and if you serve a tiny slice of sourdough the purpose of the dish is just wasted.
We were excited to try the French toast next which mentioned liquid tiramisu and berry compote- no surprise here that there was no berry compote served and I didn’t bother to even ask anything to the waiters beyond that. The French toast was soaked in the coffee cream (definitely not some fancy liquid tiramisu) - please don’t advertise your menu like it’s fine dining when it’s clearly just ordinary food. Better position the menu in a realistic classic dine out to set expectations straight.

I really loved the coffee so that’s my saving grace for this review.

We visited Sortd Café ad a group for dinner and really enjoyed it. The place has a nice, cozy vibe with beautiful interiors that make it feel calm and comfortable. It is a good spot to relax, catch up with friends, or have a quiet meal alone.
The food was tasty and fresh. They have a good variety of options from pasta and burgers to rice bowls and salads. All the food options very unique and tasty. There are a wide variety of drink options too, from cold brews to mocktails.
The staff were friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. Service was quick and smooth.

Overall, Sortd Café is a lovely place for dinner good food, nice ambience, and great service. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a relaxed and tasty meal within the city.

The ambience was so good with private working pods. We tried many things, but the fries and homemade chutney are a must-try. The mushroom pizza was also nice.

Aishwarya Shankar02.11.2026

Had a great time! The food was amazing and few items on the menu were super innovative. Would love for them to have eggless options on desserts though. The service was excellent! Asha and another staff member whose name started with T ( don't want to get it wrong :/ ) were very sweet.

Also loved the board they've put up to help people connect and collaborate without hesitation. Such a brilliant idea. 100/10 for that alone! 💯

FoodForThought02.11.2026

We dropped by Sortd Cafe in Alwarpet around 9 AM on a rainy morning, and it turned out to be the perfect cozy breakfast spot. The ambiance was warm, minimal, and inviting—exactly what you want when stepping out on a gloomy day. We ordered the avocado toast and a latte, and both were spot on. The avocado toast was fresh, well-seasoned, and had just the right balance of textures. The latte was smooth and perfectly brewed, making it a great companion to the meal. Overall, Sortd Cafe delivered a simple yet satisfying breakfast experience, and we’d definitely come back again.

Priya Kannan02.11.2026

Tried their strawberry coconut matcha (much recommended) , cafe mocha protein shake (a bit chalky), affogato with pistachio ice cream(okayish). Good experience! work friendly too.

Sharmila Natarajan02.11.2026

Sortd in Alwarpet is an absolute gem! It's the kind of place that does so many things well, all under one roof.

First off, the food is incredible and features a really interesting mix. Where else in Chennai can you try French fries with green chutney?

They've got everything from the unique (like parotta with beef and butter chicken with egg kalakki), to classics like sandwiches and street food like vadapav.
Their fusion dishes are a must-try.

The baby corn fitters are fantastic, and the pesto pasta with pine nuts is truly one of the best I've ever had. Don't skip the Asian plates they definitely stand out!

For coffee lovers, you're in for a treat. They offer both hot and cold filter coffee, but you have to explore their unique matcha menu. The Matcha Taro was superb.

The ambiance is fantastic too. They have meeting rooms and workpods on the first floor, offering spacious seating and a great vibe. It really feels like your second home..perfect for food, work, and conversations.

Highly recommended!

Waited for 25 minutes in the morning g but not a single person came to take our order even after informing them twice. Their barista was constantly fighting with someone on the phone. Not sure if I want my coffee from someone so angry. Been here multiple times and their food & coffee is good. Left without ordering because today they just pissed me off.

Thiagu Sang02.11.2026

Sortd!!! This new establishment offers a refreshing atmosphere for productivity. The ambiance with comfortable seating and ample workspace make it easy to focus. Fresh ingredients are clearly showcased in each dish, bursting with flavor. A delightful selection of coffee, starters and main course provides the perfect fuel for a relaxing break. The attentive service adds a touch of elegance to the overall experience. I highly recommend this cafe. It’s definitely worth a visit, A must visit place.

Vishali Dhinakar02.11.2026

Had a very good experience at Sorted. I was particularly impressed by the cute menu. The food was really great. Would definitely recommend 🥰👍

Shakahari Journals02.11.2026

Tried the trending Mont Blanc Coffee here and it was great. Jim Jam Iced Latte was bitter and tasted nothing like the biscuit though. Deconstructed Madurai Vada Curry was the most disappointing item served as medu vadas topped with coriander chutney! Matcha drinks on the menu looked very tempting and I will try them if I visit again.

Baskaran Subramani02.11.2026

We had a blast spending our friend's birthday dinner. Even though I wasn't in a position to eat, the gang finished everything clean off the plates... The staff were kind enough, allowed us to celebrate the cake cutting and we made quite the fuzz until we left. . . I don't usually fancy a cafe, this place sure changed that thought... Would highly recommend...

Akanksha Singh02.11.2026

The menu is innovative and to my surprise delivers in terms of taste, it’s not just random usual food made interesting. The service is great; polite and fast. The cafe has different seating options and I saw people working there so that’s great too! The Mont Blanc is actually refreshing and great, would definitely try it over usual black coffee. Food portions are good.

EDIT: Tried the single working pod, has to be the coolest work from cafe space. They provide a full set up of desktop, keyboard, mouse, adjustable table, laptop and phone stand and a great chair for working. You just need to book the room (1, 2, different group size pax) and show up. Really appreciate having such a space, they should be more popular.

Did I mention the service? They have the sweetest staff. I like them all!

Nikhil Arangodan02.11.2026

Worst experience with this cafe
Ordered almond croissant 🥐 .. it's spoiled.. almond exactly bitter and oily in taste.
I told this to the person who served the food, but he just stood there and tried to justify it. He said it was prepared in the morning and that there’s a chance it might taste bad.😬🤮
And take it return back

Atlast they give the Bill with service
As per government rule service change not chargeable!!

Liv Postive02.11.2026

Wonderful experience! ❤️

A great atmosphere, amazing vibes, and a beautiful rainy night made our anniversary dinner even more special. 🌧️✨

The food was really good, and the service was excellent. A special thanks to Ms. Supano, who took great care of us throughout the evening.

We enjoyed a lovely anniversary dinner with our 3-year-old, and it was a memorable family experience. ❤️

Thank you for making our evening so special! Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I had a great time here! It’s my first time at Sorted and my waiter Niki was very friendly! The food was really nice and if you love matcha, then you’ll love this place!

Review Man02.11.2026

Sortd is a place that stuns at first sight. The name glows on the side of the building, lit with quiet grace, promising refinement within. The main structure is pure white, its glass walls on the ground floor opening out into the city beyond. The first floor gleams invitingly above, yet being told it was unavailable felt like the first disappointment of the evening. Spaces built to inspire should also be shared, otherwise they remain beautiful but hollow, admired from below rather than lived in.

The approach to the café is enchanting. Lush greenery lines the outer wall, and the outdoor seating looks like the kind of corner where time would slip away easily. Inside, the counter greets you with minimalist charm, its design evoking the warmth of classic diners from another era. Yet the display stood bare, missing the life that comes from trays of pastries and desserts waiting to tempt. Stocked with the best of what the café can offer, it could have radiated personality instead of restraint.

Connecting the counter to the main seating area is a narrow corridor of beauty. On one side, tall chairs face a long window, the view of parked cars softened by the golden light filtering through. On the other, a row of booths glows under hanging lamps, comfortable and well designed. The space feels both intimate and deliberate, like a place made for quiet conversation.

Our table was set in a glass chamber beyond, with transparent walls and a roof that might have been oppressive in heat but was magical under evening light. A tree rose from the corner, the café having built around it rather than cutting it away. It stood as a living reminder that good design can honour nature rather than erase it. And before the food even began, Mary, our waitress, made the experience memorable with her warmth and attentiveness. She was the kind of host who turns a visit into a memory.

The meal began with broccoli and yellow cheddar cutlets. The plating was elegant, four golden pieces resting on bright orange chutney, touched with sour cream and greens. They looked like art, but the flavour never matched the promise. The crust was crisp and perfect, but the filling lacked character, the cheese fading too quickly and the chutney offering little spark. For its price, the portion felt small, leaving the dish beautiful but hollow.

Next came the reimagined garden vegetables pizza. Served on a wooden board, it had a rustic charm, its shape slightly uneven but appealing. The sauce was excellent, the toppings generous and the cheese mild. The crust edges were crisp rather than soft, offering texture and bite. Yet despite these individual strengths, the overall taste missed a certain harmony. It was a dish that impressed in appearance but never quite sang in flavour.

The curated drink options were unavailable, so we settled for Vietnamese cold coffee. The mix of coffee and condensed milk was rich and satisfying, but the slushy ice distracted from the smoothness, turning the drink into a coffee flavoured ice blend by the end. The pumpkin chips followed, ordered in place of the unavailable tej potato fries. They arrived neat, crisp and well presented, but they were simply fryums in disguise, the kind one could buy anywhere for a fraction of the cost. The irony of paying two hundred and twenty five for them was difficult to ignore.

Sortd is a café built with ambition and aesthetic brilliance. The structure is stunning, the design thoughtful, the staff kind and attentive. Yet it is held back by its own choices. To keep its most beautiful spaces closed to guests is to deny them the full experience. To serve food that pleases the eye but not the palate is to waste its own potential. And to price simple pleasures too high is to dim the joy they could bring. Even so, the elegance of the space, the natural harmony of design and the kindness of people like Mary linger in memory, leaving behind enough warmth to tempt a return.

8/10

Prakash Stephen02.11.2026

The ambiance was very good. There was parking with valet. Neat wash area.

The was limited but had very good choise. The menu on the website and the restaurant is a bit different. If you ask from the website menu they do serve them.

We had pork ribs which was really good.
Penne Alfredo past (NV) hardly had any chicken there more mushrooms, there was no presentation.
Kungpao tofu dish, the presentation was good but tofu was hard.
The caramel and biscoff smoothie was too sweet but the chocolate and Avocado smoothie was good.

There seem to be many waiters but still none in sight when you wanted to call them.

Overall experience was good, maybe we did not order their signature dishes.

There is also a small zone where you can work peacefully.

Pragadeesh C02.11.2026

Went there for single pod room. It was perfect!! Has the best setup. A chair, height adjustable table, keyboard, mouse, monitor with speakers and webcam attached and they have a Type-C dock where all these components are connected. Totally worth for the money!!

Safvan Karanthur02.11.2026

Had a wonderful time at Sortd Cafe, spending some quality hours for a meeting. The staff is really well-trained and made us feel very comfortable. The atmosphere is breathtaking, with a beautifully curated space that motivates peaceful work. The ambience is soothing, filled with inspiring paintings and designs, making it a perfect spot to work, relax, and brainstorm.

We also tried their teas, which were refreshing, and the biriyani turned out to be one of the best I’ve had from a café. All of us were equally impressed with the staff and service. A lovely place to spend time with friends, colleagues, or dear ones.

amrita preetham02.11.2026

Great place to hangout. My Coffee was great.
Our server Yolang was great to work with. We ll be back soon!

Casual hangout cafe in Chennai with a work friendly menu and ambiance . Good for some time with friends and family.✌️👍

Once seated, I swear I felt like I was in one of the cafes in Bengaluru!
Amazing ambience and the staff were great - prompt and friendly and very courteous.
Was curious and tried the jim jam latte and it was good! Everything was good. Looking forward to more visits.

Vash Jackson02.11.2026

Good food and good ambience. Good song collections. Quantity could be better.

LAAKHI SHIVHARE (RA2311030010261)02.11.2026

I went here yesterday and honestly speaking this cafe was really miserable. There were a lot of people attending meetings and offices making a lot of noise. The cafe is a place for people to gather with friends and families and the atmosphere I experienced yesterday was definitely not good. I was clicking pictures in an area and one of the customers asked me to take photos somewhere else because he had a meeting going on. Many cafe’s in chennai have restricted meetings and I think that this one should restrict meetings as well. The staff and was very slow. And the food tastes average for the price these people take. I had fish and chips and mac and cheese. I didn’t like mac and cheese at all meanwhile fish and chips were good.

Shaboo Thomas02.11.2026

I went here for the first time after a morning run with a club abd thought we were more than 40plus they were happy to accept us in the morning by 8am and sorted the space for us. Sorted has plenty of space and some items to choose from. They have some variations at 2 different floors and it was very decent. I liked it.. just posting some pics.

AJAI SATHYA02.11.2026

Wonderful experience and good service. Guy named AMIR was so genuine and he gave us a compliment pizza which is so nice of him.

Good work and friendly customer handling by Amir ❤️

Much recommended place for friends and family

Dr CA Sangeeta Shankaran Sumesh The Gain Enabler02.11.2026

Great ambience and well maintained.

While vada pav, grandma kadhi, Thai tea, fresh orange juice were very good the mushroom sandwich and the tres lychee were a let down.

The working pod, meeting rooms, huddle etc are really good.

Valet parking available and good location too.

Place has good vibes. Definitely worth visiting.

Andrew Martin02.11.2026

SORTD, Chennai has a nice ambiance, good coffee, and the convenience of valet parking. The food was average, but the service definitely wasn’t SORTD. 😅

We waited 20+ minutes just to get the menu, another 20 minutes for someone to take our order, around 30 minutes for the food, and another 20 minutes for the bill.

The funniest part? My friend practically became one of the staff. He went to the reception to get us the menu, had to go ask about our food, and eventually got up to collect the bill himself because no one ever came to our table.

A nice place to sit and enjoy a coffee, but they really need to get their service… SORTD.

Arshiya Fathima02.11.2026

Given 2 stars because we especially went for balcony dining which we saw in reels but we weren’t allowed their because some meeting was going on. Such a disappointment. The rose milk tresleches was average for the pricing. The mangalorian prawn and malabar parotta was one of a kind. Kudos to the chef who made it. The prawn was so juicy and perfectly cooked. Never had such a perfectly cooked prawn. Malabar parotta was also flaky and went well with the prawn. Portion was also worth the money. But the service was not good. Had to call multiple times for each thing. The outdoor tables were very dusty. They did not even clean it before serving the dish. Improve with cleaning in the outdoors

Anitha Kanagavel02.11.2026

We visited this place on a week day back evening and were able to get a table immediately. I believe this place is too crowded over weekend. The ambience was laid back and soothing to spend a peaceful time with your friends or family. They do not have ample parking space, but they do have valet.

Coming to the food, we ordered a chicken drumstick soup- which was pure rasam and was okish, ghee prawn roast - was surprisingly accompanied by appalam and was good and had some crunchy nuts, mutton gnocci - was the show stealer with soft gnocci and a rich yummy brown sauce simmered with lamb pieces, am not a great fan of lamb but loved this dish, and obviously went for a vietnamese cold coffee - a damn good choice, it had hint of coconut and had well blended condensed milk. Their service was top notch, with their staff explaining and giving recommendation patiently. Only complain will be that the dishes were served in reverse order - main course, soup, and starter. The quantity of the food was lesser compared to the price.

But will definitely come back to try their other pastas and coffee options!

Vidhyaa Dayanandh (Vidu)02.11.2026

Sortd Café offers a chic, comfortable space with great attention to both design and hospitality. Coupled with a menu offering delicious beverages and savory bites. Had this Chiken drumstick soup
Which was too good.. coffee options are great. it’s a place that checks the boxes for ambience, taste, and service in one neat little package.

Vikram Krishnan02.11.2026

Ignore the rating. We just ordered coffee and wings. The coffee was great and the wings were not our liking. Thought it smelled weird and it was around Rs 450+ per plate and at that price it better be cooked well and not smell like old or frozen chicken

I could see that the chef was very agitated and annoyed when we sent it back. Lost interest in eating here immediately. Could have walked up to the table if they were really interested instead sent the person handling the tables.

Would never go back here. Honestly there are so many better places in Alwarpet which deserve your time and money.

Sudharsan Hari02.11.2026

They were clear but not sorted in many ways. We were offered a table very close to the entrance, and within 5 minutes, we were stuck in a mosquito war zone. We requested the staff to move us to a different space, but they denied, even though the place was practically empty. After the third request to do something about the mosquitoes, they brought some spray and used mosquito repellent, which worked.

Midway through the meal, the space became hot; I guess the AC was turned off at 10:15 PM while our meal was still being served.

We ordered the Vada Curry Vadai, knowing the chef’s interest in fusion. The vada was raw in the middle, so we sent it back to be checked. Nobody bothered to address the issue with us afterward, as if it was a common problem.

We asked for medium rare on the tenderloin steak but were told since it was sous vide, it wasn’t possible and that it would be served medium to well done. We went ahead with the order and received two cuts of steak with different levels of doneness, which made no sense.

The pizza was good; otherwise, everything was just okay.

The Kalakki with Parotta had no flavor as such.

Visited Sorted Cafe recently and had a really satisfying experience overall! The taste, service, and aesthetics were all on point.

We tried quite a few dishes - the Truffle Mushroom Soup was just average. But the Ratatouille Sandwich twist was amazing, full of flavor and creativity! The Aglio e Olio was done well, and the Fungi Mushroom & Pepper Coulis Pizza truly stood out — unique and packed with taste. The Reimagined Veggie Pizza looked great but was a bit bland for our palate.

The Asian Peppered Broccoli & Radish dish stole the show — absolutely delicious and a must-try! For drinks, the Zero Aperil was refreshing. Dessert-wise, the cheesecake was okay — good for a one-time try, but not a highlight.

Would definitely recommend the place for its inventive menu and vibe. Looking forward to visiting again!

Honestly, really disappointed with the food. It was extremely average and definitely not worth the price they charge. For the amount we paid, I expected much better taste and quality. Nothing really stood out and overall it just felt overpriced for what was served. Definitely not an experience I’d want to repeat.
