quaint, cozy and quiet. can cause one to be in a state of somnolent. my friend rates the matcha as 3.8. seating space provided with people quietly working on their laptops. good place to study and work.

Restroom available
wifi available
Water available

The actual espresso maybe wasn’t my favorite, but the lavender syrup was so good!! And $8.71 for an iced latte with syrup… definitely overpriced in my opinion😬

Seating is near to impossible to find when you first walk in. But the turnover is pretty regular, so if you are willing to stand and wait for 5-10min, you should be able to snag something!

Free wifi, so you can work here!

Great ambiance! It’s a cozy shop with small tables for seating. I was lucky enough to grab a table and spend some time here. There’s free wifi which is a plus, but not too many outlets. I ordered their gingerbread latte which was a special. I thought it was perfectly sweet and delicious. It was the perfect drink for a cold January afternoon. This is a great spot for a quick coffee or to stay a while and get work done, as long as your devices are charged up. workers are really friendly and my drink was made quickly.

The coffee is among the best we’ve tried in New York, but the place was packed with people working on their laptops. Since it’s a small café, it would be much better if one or two tables were kept available for customers who want to enjoy their coffee rather than hold meetings there. I’d recommend it more for takeout, as you’ll probably have a hard time finding a seat.

I absolutely love Sote Coffee Roasters! This small, artisan coffee shop at 329 Amsterdam Ave is the perfect neighborhood hideaway — inviting, warm, and just the right size for grabbing a coffee or spending some time working or reading .

The coffee is truly outstanding — from expertly pulled cappuccinos to latte art that shows real care. Their house espresso blend delivers bright notes of red apple, caramel, blackberry, baking spices, and even pear — with a rich, syrupy mouthfeel that makes milk drinks particularly wonderful .

What really sets Sote apart is the genuine hospitality of the owners, Besa and Arber. They’ve created a welcoming “third place” on the UWS where you immediately feel part of the community. Their passion for quality coffee and connection shines through in every visit .

Despite being cozy and sometimes busy, there’s enough seating to feel at ease — perfect for relaxing or catching up on work. Even during peak times, the vibe remains calm and friendly .

✅ Highlights:

Exceptional coffee, roasted in‑house with great attention to sourcing and freshness

Espresso and milk drinks that bring deep flavors and smooth texture

Lovely small space, thoughtfully designed for comfort and connection

Owners who are warm, kind, and engaging — you’ll feel welcomed every time

Best coffee in NYC hands down. The cold brew is smooth and the atmosphere is perfect for working or chatting. Support local roasters like Sote!

Great addition to the neighborhood. Was walking by and stumbled into this cafe, not realizing it had yet to fully open for business! The owners were nice enough to let me try their cappuccino (it was excellent). The interior is really nice, stocked with their own roasted coffee beans and perfect for some quiet with a book or a laptop. Will be back to try more of their coffee and treats when they officially open!

We were walking by me and my parter yesterday, and we wanted to get a latte and some croissants but the girl at the front had an attitude towards us saying that their coffee machine was not working anymore however we saw and heard the whole conversation between them (there were 2 girls) and one of them had this attitude saying that she didn’t want to make more espresso anymore, they were not even closing, we got there around 5:40ish and it was understandable if we were there few minutes before they close, but, was not the case, hopefully they get better at the customer service

The best coffee in upper west side, the coffee is consistently amazing and everyone working there is genuinely friendly and welcoming. I had a cappuccino and it was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. You can tell they really care about what they’re serving. Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the neighborhood!
