Tukked in small place with cosy ambience.Worth visiting.

Thushara02.11.2026

Been to this place before with a different cafe located 2 years back so the seating and atmosphere is just the same. Had milo coffee and chicken brushetta and I think i loved the taste when milo combined well with coffee.

Lavz02.11.2026

Great evening. We went just for some beverage however ended up ordering some snack too and everything was great. The place is a bit small, so indoor seating is limited to just 3 tables and the table next to us was crazy noisy.

Mohamad Khabir02.11.2026

Despite the establishment’s modest size, the service was exceptional and the staff were very accommodating. The food was also of high quality.

Vignesh Ramanujam02.11.2026

Visited The Perch, Chennai with a table booking through District. The biggest positive is definitely the ambience. The indoor space is calm, comfortable and nicely designed, making it a good place for a relaxed get-together. The outdoor seating is also pleasant, although it is more suitable for people who are comfortable with a smoking-friendly environment.
Coming to the food, unfortunately, our experience was quite average and didn't live up to the expectations created by the reviews and reputation of the place.
We tried the Lavender Matcha, onion & mushroom pizza, cheesy fries and desserts. The fries were crispy, but the cheese wasn't particularly impressive. The pizza bread itself was okay, but the cheese flavour and onion & mushroom toppings were disappointing. We also requested tandoori mayo a few times, but it wasn't provided; only tomato sauce was given. The oregano seasoning provided with the pizza was also in very large pieces and difficult to use properly.
The takeaway experience was another disappointment. We had half of the pizza packed to take home, but the slices were placed one above another in a small, sandwich-sized box rather than being properly packed in a suitable pizza/slice box. This made the presentation and handling of the pizza inconvenient.
More importantly, the oregano sachets provided with the takeaway were past their expiry date by several months. When we opened them at home, the seasoning appeared to have been affected by moisture and had an unpleasant smell, so we couldn't use it.
For a restaurant at this price point, I would expect better attention to food quality, packaging and basic checks on complimentary/packaged condiments.
Overall, the ambience is the strongest part of The Perch. It's a nice place to sit, relax and catch up with friends, but based on our experience, the food and takeaway service were below expectations. Worth visiting once for the ambience, but I wouldn't particularly recommend it for the food or value for money.

Varsha Ravi02.11.2026

Loved this place and the best part they had board games as well perfect place to spend quality time with friends.

Nidhi Modani02.11.2026

Went there for a sunday brunch and it was quite packed. The atmosphere was so nice and calm. Ordered a couple of items which were quite good considering the price. The cold coffee was really good and refreshing. Overall a nice cafe to spend some quality time with loved ones.

Vishali Dhinakar02.11.2026

I really loved the pizza there!! The matcha was also tasting very authentic and delicious!! 10/10

prathyusha p02.11.2026

I visited Perch Cafe in the evening. It’s a small cafe in size. The outdoor seating was full, so I opted for the indoor seating, which was quite empty. From the reviews, I expected to find board games, but I couldn’t find any in the indoor area.

I tried their French toast, which was served with fruit compote, butter cream, and fresh fruits. The fruits were fresh, and I liked the fruit compote, but unfortunately, the two main elements of the dish let me down. The bread used for the French toast wasn’t good, which was disappointing since it’s the most important part of the dish. I didn’t enjoy the butter cream either.

Overall, the food was quite disappointing, especially considering that French toast was the dish I was looking forward to trying.

The service could have been better, too. The waiters didn’t seem particularly warm or engaging, which made the overall experience less enjoyable.

I was expecting a much better experience based on the reviews, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to my expectations.

Vyshnavi Durai02.11.2026

Food and service was good. But the place was too cramped and crowded. The outdoor area was full of people smoking and hence did not like spending my evening there. Overall it was not a pleasant experience.

sammienatorr02.11.2026

Finally a cafe in t nagar with a lovely outdoor area with smoking facility. Fresh orange juice, the breakfast menu, the Alfredo pasta and the onion ring - are some of my personal favourites! A proper meal for two - ₹800-1000!

Secret Indian Mumma02.11.2026

A new cozy cafe to chill in Chennai , serving delicious halal food. Cafe has both indoor and outdoor seatings. Kids & pets friendly. The menu is curated with unique dishes at reasonable prices. U also get red bull coffee and varieties of matcha. Approx. 700-1200 per couple.

Madras monk02.11.2026

Nice place to hangout. I liked the food and service. I tried kombucha and fried chicken. It is very good. The atmosphere also nice

Deepika Athi02.11.2026

Really lovely vibe with tables under mango trees and lush greenery. I went around 5 pm so it was cool but I'm not sure what it'll be like in the afternoon. Food was delicious. We got a latte and the lavender matcha, latte was fine but matcha had too much lavender syrup so it was really sweet. which was a bit of a letdown. Would visit again though.

dhivya priya02.11.2026

Food is OK....we had this breakfast plate which was not worth the price we paid for ....other than it atmosphere is great felt like dining in our garden...service was good too

Priya dharshini02.11.2026

The Perch is a cozy coffee place with a warm and inviting ambience, making it a pleasant spot to relax and unwind. We ordered fries, coffee, and chicken crisps, which were good but quite similar to what you'd find at many other cafés.

The atmosphere is calm and comfortable, and I noticed several people working on their laptops, making it a nice place to work as well. Overall, it's a great spot for casual hangouts, catching up with friends, or simply enjoying some quiet time in a cozy setting.

Daniel Williams02.11.2026

Enjoyed the Cortado. Must try the cold press or aeropress the next time

Grace Mohandas02.11.2026

Good coffee, food and ambience. Must try !!

Nafisa Shylla02.11.2026

Perch is a very cozy, intimate and amazing cafe and my go to place. Love the ambience with very friendly owners and servers.
Food is spot on and especially the matchas are perfect. They always get every cup of matcha right. Please do give it a visit! Highly recommend. :))

Praneeth Reddy02.11.2026

Board The Perch on a weekend evening. The place is located in a quiet residential street and hence parking is an issue. It was packed, but we got lucky and found a table quick enough. Service was good despite the large crowd. The food was decent. A good spot to get coffee and meet people.

saloni bisani02.11.2026

Place has a vibe! Food is brilliant, can do better when it comes to beverages! Go-to place lately for almost all meetings!

Sanjay Prasad02.11.2026

One of the best Pasta’s I’ve ever had. Absolutely loved their Tahini yoghurt meat balls.

Sarah Zakir02.11.2026

Loved the overall vibe of this place, it’s really well done. The drinks were genuinely great and stood out, food was solid too. The staff was nice and chill. Would definitely go back!!

Hebe john02.11.2026

The matcha was practically undrinkable, and the way we were spoken to made the experience worse.

We ordered two matcha drinks, but they were basically just matcha mixed with milk—no flavour, no balance, and honestly not drinkable as is. Adding a syrup or sweetener wasn’t optional, it was necessary, yet this wasn’t clearly mentioned anywhere on the matcha section of the menu. We had no way of knowing this beforehand. One drink was replaced, but the second version was even worse.

When we raised this, the owner’s response was dismissive. We were told that we “don’t know” and that this is just how they do it there. If you’re serving it this way, customers need to be informed—you can’t expect people to just guess how your drinks work.

We’ve tried matcha around Chennai and in a few countries, so this wasn’t a lack of understanding—it was poor execution and lack of clarity.

On top of that, there were mosquitoes, a strong incense pot placed right next to us, and overall unwelcoming service.

Overall, a very disappointing experience

Rishi Adhithya .K02.11.2026

Everyone is either vaping or smoking. If you wanna die from passive smoking, you can very much go there and Rest in Peace. However, the ambiance was good and staff were super late.

Preethika Dhanasekaran02.11.2026

Perch – Calm, Cute, Cozy

Perch is that perfect *c-cube* calm, cute, and cozy, making it an easy place to relax and unwind. The standout for me was the beverage packaging absolutely brilliant, genuinely thoughtful, and unlike anything I’ve seen in Chennai so far. It reflects a quiet intelligence in how the café approaches design and customer experience. A small detail, but one that says a lot about the place.

maduvanthi lr02.11.2026

This place seems like one of the best in chennai but lacks true warmth and genuine service. For the first time I found staff in chennai who were low key judgmental and cold towards the customer in a subtle way.

Everyone from the host, the sever and the guy who wouldn’t help me pay by tap was a bit undertone snooty and prideful to do their job.

This is truly ONLY & ONLY a reflection of the work culture and management and possibly how they treat the staff.

It’s truly sad & I probably won’t go there again. Infact I didn’t want to eat the food- packed it and gave it to someone else because of how the energy around it was.

I hope the owner sees this and reflects on this feedback genuinely if you want to create a good atmosphere and cafe culture. Compared to BASK where staff are nice and warm - the afternoon at Perch wasn’t a great expenditure.

Respect & take care of your staff first! Customer service comes from humans who are well served.

dhanush delish02.11.2026

Great place to visit , if you are a morning person 😁 cause you shouldnt miss the French toast and English breakfast.

Vibing here ain't farfetched as there are many indoor games option

Mario Dominic02.11.2026

Great coffee, delicious bites, and a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're looking for a calm corner to work or a chill place to hang out with friends, this café really delivers. Friendly service and lovely ambience — highly recommended if you’re around T. Nagar!

Reshika Manoharan02.11.2026

Great place for a quick brunch or luncheon... Good aesthetics...

Raj Sheth02.11.2026

very good cafe, had coffee tonic, very good calm environment, you can sit hours here. play some board games. we sat here for a couple of hours to wait for our Visa slot at US embassy.

Jai Shankar02.11.2026

Visited this café recently and had a great experience. The place is awesome, neat, and well maintained. The staff were genuinely happy while serving us, which made the visit even better. Nice one!

Swathy Ranjith02.11.2026

"Perfect spot for long hangouts!"
I visited Preach with a large group of 10 friends and we had an amazing time! We stayed for about 3 hours doing art and crafts, and the staff was incredibly sweet and accommodating the entire time. They were always ready to help, which made the experience so much better.
It’s a fantastic place if you want to spend long hours chilling—you can read books, play board games, or even get some work done. For food, I highly recommend the Dark Mocha and the Smoked Chicken Pasta with Pesto. Meatball Tahini Sauce is also a must-try! Highly recommended.

Deepak Chander02.11.2026

It was as good as the previous establishment that existed here. In fact it is more lively and evenings see a lot of patrons.

Siara02.11.2026

Good food and friendly atmosphere. Youngesters will definitely enjoy this place.Reasonable price also.

DJ DEV02.11.2026

Such a nice spot to chill with friends in the evening!
The coffee is top notch, absolutely loved the mocha cold brew and the Milo coffee. The service and ambiance were amazing too. Definitely bringing all my friends here soon 🔥🙌

Nandhini Umapathy02.11.2026

Balamurugan02.11.2026

Very nice ambience and good service. The food and cappuccino was very nice. I enjoyed the dinner with tasty food. Especially the ambience was very nice and beautiful. Thank you for the very nice evening. 😍😍😍😍😍

Nehaa Pradeep02.11.2026

Great place and food. Its located in a calm
neighbourhood and i love that. The service was also excellent. However i wish the quantity was a little more fair. The cups are cute but Id highly recommending switching from these single use cups.

Update: they figured to cup size issue and im so happy to see that! Great team

Ganesh Prabhu R02.11.2026

Should go there for starters and ambience. And French toast is to be had definitely. Don't miss it. Wish they do something about their main course though ie...sandwiches, burgers and even pizza. Somehow it didn't hit the spot like the other offerings.

Amrita DS02.11.2026

A perfect little escape ☕✨

This café is an absolute gem in the heart of the city! From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by a cozy vibe, aesthetic interiors, and the comforting aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The menu is thoughtfully curated — every drink is well-balanced and every bite feels fresh and satisfying.

The coffee is excellent, clearly made with quality beans and care, and the food pairs perfectly with it. What really stands out is the attention to detail and the friendly, welcoming staff who make you feel right at home.

Whether you’re looking for a calm place to work, catch up with friends, or just enjoy a peaceful cup of coffee, this café is the perfect spot. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely be coming back!

Mathew02.11.2026

Great food, excellent service and a nice decor. Location is perfect too, whether you want to relax, work or talk to friends.

Akshaya Shree02.11.2026

Place is very congested. If you are a non-smoker, outdoor seating can be really suffocating. I would say it is overpriced for the food that is being served. For this price you can easily go to some nice place elsewhere.

Arjun Lakhlani02.11.2026

Iced latte and cappuccino on point. Food is also delicious. Highly recommend 👍

Hari Prasanth02.11.2026

Great place to hang out and chill with coffee...Extremely courteous staff and next level service. Kudos 🎉

Antony Henry02.11.2026

Food is so cheaply made and presented that my local Saravana bakery looks and tastes premium. Seriously, not worth the price and the time to go out there. Total waste of my morning. Hope nobody else does that too

Arun Bhatia02.11.2026

Loved the cold brew and iced pour over!

Narmada Hariprasad02.11.2026

Had their lotus biscoff matcha drink. It was great with subtle taste of matcha. The vibe was great with not much noise and disturbance. Great place, great food and great service which led me to have a great time there with my friend :)

Fayeza02.11.2026

Scintillating experience..
Great ambience and service..
The food is continental and so delicious to taste . The pastas & pizzas are crazy and come with a copious quantum of the best cheese. Yummy and it can stretch your tummy. The mains are brilliantly presented and delectable in taste. A must go and don't miss out with friends . Equally good to visit with family. Not very steep in the pocket and simply value for money..
